Eternals Rotten Tomatoes watch thread

Regardless, the best it offers is nostalgia. Otherwise, it is just a really boring film with bland performances and a mess of a script.
I still like Routh, and the performance of that scumbag. I also really like it's look, the super son, and Ottman's work. But to each their own.

For all the comparisons that’s been made with this film to a Snyder DC film, I think it’s more than appropriate that this film is being reviewed like the average Snyder DC film instead of the average MCU film. :o

I find Superman Returns rather meh. Brandon Routh was excellent. The actress that played Lois was forgettable. Didn’t care for the stupid kid. And Spacey was hilarious, definitely channeled Gene Hackman’s Lex rather well. Great visual effects but the movie lacked action. Superman did not throw one single punch in that movie

The "Producers bribe critics" conspiracy theory reared its ugly mug again, and here I am laughing like a maniac.

And I laugh harder looking at this approval rating accompanied by average score of 5.9/10.

Down to 54%. Yeah it doesn't look good. It looks like it hasn't settled to any score and just keeps going down. It started for me hoping it would settle to low 70s. It reached 76% after going down to 71%. But it went down again. Then I was hoping it would settle to mid 60s, then to barely fresh and few hours ago I was hoping not lower than 55%. Still hundreds of reviews to be added.

If it does go to 55%, it’ll get worse reviews than Man Of Steel(which currently sits at a 56%).

What's worse is the average score of 5.80. MoS had 6.20. Critics are not being kind to Eternals, and the score just keeps dropping.

Well Black widow has 439 reviews counted right now. The number of reviews will increase overtime.

But Shang-Chi has only 312 and Venom 236 reviews. You won't get many new reviews after the theatrical run is over.

I suspect Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings would get more reviews, when it hits on demand/Disney+ neXt week.

Probably not all that many more

I guess there may have been some critics who just didn't want to risk covid.

I seem to remember some critics complaining about not getting digital screeners for this very reason. Apparently a lot of the studios stopped sending them out during the summer.

All the news articles about Eternals is just about the fact that it's rotten.

Going to be interesting to see what reactions are like after these Wednesday showings

Superman Returns isn't the best flick, but a POS? That's BvS, SS, Fan4stic. Superman Returns is pretty underwhelming, while being shot beautifully and having a rather brilliant score. So overall, it's pretty middle of the road, but I always liked it. But I also like most things Superman.

IMO, it’s as bad as all of those. Nice cinematography and a good score (which was really just a recycled score from a previous movie) weren’t enough to save it in my book.

Count me in the Superman Returns hate group. Everything good about that film was based on nostalgia from older movies. But you have to stand on your own as a movie, and that it did not.

This, 100%.

I know I have watched it a lot more then other people. But that's extremely not true.

I mean, the right way to look at it is “well, at least we finally got that first one out of the way”

I do think this will just end up being a blip on the radar in the grand scheme, not a sign of things to come.
