Can someone please explain how Roy Harper aka Dick Grayson wanna-be is now following metal armed/bionic one armed freak like Bucky Barnes???

Is DC getting out of their stories that they have to bite off Marvel's take on Bucky Barnes just to try to attract Marvel's fanbase?

As much as I tolerated Roy, I liked him being a father...but now, DC kills off his kid (shame on you for sending a bad message), takes his arm for him to have a metal one (can anyone say Bucky Barnes?) and forces Black Canary and Dick Grayson to put him in a mental institution?

I would be mad if it wasn't for the fact they'll probably resurrect Lian again in another series.

But why is DC trying to copy Marvel's take on a former sidekick with a metal arm?

Somebody please explain this.

It's interesting because this J.T Krull guy seems to be a enw writer. People really liked his Teen Titans, but with this Rise of Arsenal he apparently went too overboard with 90s grim darkness.

Comic fans' memory for the bad stuff is a lot longer than their memory for good stuff, so I imagine people are going to be dreading Krul's name on comics for a long time to come.

I found his Teen Titans sory arc to be rather poor

It was not as bad as Rise of Arsenal though.

Mm, small correction: he never wrote Teen Titans proper, he just wrote the Titans book and the Blackest Night tie-ins of those books. Also, saying that people really liked his Titans may be a bit of a stretch. His issues were decent and inoffensive, but I certainly don't recall it setting anyone's nethers on fire. And then they got really boring when it became clear that DC was just wasting pages and stalling for time until the entire cast of the book joined the Justice League for one single issue.

And to think at one time Roy was the resident smartass and skirt-chaser. Instead of continuing their path of letting him grow up then just went the copycat/grim and gritty route. Don't they...think these things through?

I don't have a problem with him returning to addiction. I would have preferred him sticking to just pain killers, but overall the problem isn't with him reverting.
