The Amazing Spider-Man Rules for the Reboot

Rules for the reboot-sony stay out of it. (which I doubt will happen)
Regardless of whether you liked Raimis spiderman movies or not, I believe sony was in Raimis ear the entire time telling him what he should or should not do.(which is understandable-TO A POINT.) I think from the get go they were more interested in the realism and the love triangles, and doing things more from a teen point of view. When spiderman seemed to grow up too quick, I think that's when sony decided to pull the plug and get him back in the Harry Potter, Twilight, Percy Jackson territory again. Which is fine, as long as it is Spiderman.
We don't need made up characters like Vulturesses, or people who don't really exist in the comic but who are only added because Sony wants some kind of conflict or tension. We don't need a JJ Jamison who suddenly has a daughter we never knew of because Peter needs another love interest, or Uncle Bens long lost brother who knew Sandman and was in on it only because we need to invent some reason for Peter to feel conflict-know what I'm saying?!-stick to the comic, sony keep your nose out of it, let the director do his job, and for please-for crying out loud-please
LETS HAVE THE VILLIANS LOOK RIGHT AND HOW THEY NEED TO BE-(which for the most part they did o.k. on, but we don't need another crappy goblin costume)-whew!

here's my rules for the reboot, some of them have already been said but I agree with them, so:

1. Do NOT have Spider-Man unmasked and have so many know his secret identiy. Keep that exclusive to a select few. (said by "TheSlag")
2. crying only in the most emotional parts like when uncle ben dies and so on...
3. No changing the very heart and core of the story like sandman killing uncle ben
4. Way more cool acrobatic moves, even when he's just swinging around the city and excpecially in fights.
5. Have Peter neorating throughout the movie
6. Have Peter as a sarcastic and likeable character, not as an annoying goofy wimp
7. The reboot series should have that cool feeling like Ironman, and by that I mean that the movies shouldn't be so sad all the time. And when spidey is against a bad ass supervillain a little hard rock electric guitar would be nice.
8. Tone down the focus on Peter's love life. No more "All about the girl" stuff.
(said by "Joker")
9. No black suit in the trilogy. Only if they make three more movies after that it's fine.
10. If there going to make 6 movies like raimi planned they should not use all the big villains in the first three movies and save them just in case they make more. I mean, raimi used all the big most popular villains in those 3 movies without thinking the future of the series so in the fourth they wanted to use the vulture? No wonder the series had to be rebooted...
11. No two big villains with seperate stories, and certainly not three like the new goblin, sandman and venom in spiderman 3. The way they tried to tie up the story sucked. If they would use a smaller villain like shocker with some big shot it would be just fine
12. with every movie build up the next one, like if the second movie has the lizard as a villain have dr. Connors as a cameo in the first one and have some hints throughout the movie that he's going to become the lizard.

HAVE SPIDER-MAN QUIP!!!!

That is all.

DO use this as the costume.

Exactly.

And I hope he cracks some smart jokes while dealing with his enemies.

And does not cry all the time.

And does not take his mask every second.

And fights a Green Goblin that is not RIDICULOUSLY armoured.

And, last but not least, for Chrissake: NO EMO bands nor Eddie Vedder's clones in the soundtrack.

Please, director and crew: if you do not have a cultivated taste, or just don't care, call Quentin Tarantino for some advice on cool songs and stuff, will ya?

You mean you're not a fan of the Jet Jaguar ripoff?

Although I have to admit, sometimes the GG looked ok...

FOR THE WHOLE NEW FRANCHISE:

You guys have pointed out very good points so I won't list everything that's on my mind, but here's a few.

* Focus more on a thrilling, mature story rather than focusing on one girl...

* Make it different from the Raimi films, but not just for the sake of it. That means; don't try to fix something that ain't broken (big action scenes, the costume design) and do only what is needed to make a great franchise (more true to the characters we know and love etc.)

* Have villains that actually feel like evil bastards too. Green Goblin was great, but the sympathetic take on Doc Ock (and to some extent Sandman too imo) wasn't needed if you ask me. If they for example plan to have Kraven sometime, let him be the maniac he really is. Same goes for Doc Ock, Vulture, Green Goblin, Mysterio etc. Sympathetic villains should be Lizard, Scorpion (a little due to his paranoia) etc.

* DON'T USE THE ULTIMATE VERSIONS OF THE VILLAINS!!! I don't want my favourite villains to be bastardized!

* Don't try to make everything too "realistic". It takes away from the fantasy of it.

We know already and most of us agree already. Now stop nagging, please.

Well I know I am dreaming :wow::wow:... one heck of a fantasy too, and guess who the "star" is.. STAR I SAY!!!!! :woot:

*faints*

*And wakes to the sweet smell of Daisy(ies)*

Man, this board's class level just moved up about 3 pegs. NOW, if this is REALLY Daisy, or my demented evil twin "Brother" (damn him, he got the looks from Mama, while I got the one way ticket on the train), playing one of his WELL KNOWN evil tricks. :cwink:

Good to see you (so to speak, remember it's MY FANTASY)... again.

It's really me. Brother's access got cut off a while back... a long while back.

Just when I thought I was done with this place forever (except for Fantasy Football), look who pops up to drag me back? Slaggy. :word:

I would love some spidey narration throughout the film.

Actually making dock ock simpatetic was one of the things that made spider-man 2 so great, actually, manny of spider-man villains have become more simpatetic with time, some have family problems, others had a bad childhood, etc.

No, just no. There are some things that just doesn't translate well to cinema.

And please don't mention Goodfellas. That movie is one in a trillion.

I think some narration would be good. I liked it in Daredevil.

Man, we need some news, the forums here for the reboot are gettin' dry....

There should be 2 villains at the most in each movie, but they must connect somehow. I.E. Kraven & Lizard (The hunter & the hunted), Rhino & Scorpion (guys in robot suits hired to kill Spidey), Goblin & Vulture (flying villains, maybe Vulture comes from OsCorp?).

Include Green Goblin and Venom both done right in this new series somehow someway. Doc Ock maybe.

Oh, I don't know about that -- Dafoe's take on the character in the first movie wasn't far off from the comics, I think.

He never talked to himself like he did. He didn't dress like Jet Jaguar either.

Because fans would have welcomed

with open arms?

GG's costume is silly. He's scary in spite of it.

Do NOT make Peter's first true love be Mary Jane.

Green Goblin 2 must look like the first Green Goblin. Not some ninja like adaption of Hobgoblin like in Spiderman 3.
