The Amazing Spider-Man Rules for the Reboot

Because fans would have welcomed

with open arms?

GG's costume is silly. He's scary in spite of it.

I love how you went out and googled the worst picture of the goblin you could find. I was thinking something more along the lines of this.

It's better than this.

Oh wait. I'm sorry. I meant this.

That would have looked just as silly and laughable in a live action movie. Seeing a green scaled man with a purse coming at me from the sky would look lame.

And get rid of that beanie cap. That would look ******ed on screen. Give him a hood or something.

And anyway my original point was despite the costume Dafoe's portrayal was really good.

One of the things I'd like to see in the reboot:

Get rid of the "all about a girl" aspect. It's not all about a girl. It's all about a boy and his efforts to balance his responsibilities to the world at large and his immediate circle of friends and family and his responsibilities to himself.

Disagree. I remember back in the day when people would argue page after page why Spider-Man's costume would never work on screen. Just because you don't have the creativity to make it work in your head doesn't mean we all can't see how it could work. If Raimi thought like you we wouldn't have gotten the classic red and blue for Spider-Man either.

Characters and stories that should appear together then
dock ock with captain stacy´s death
Green Goblin with gwen´s death
electro with sandman, since they appeared together in early scripts of the original spider-man
and the hobgoblin with hobbits....joke

Not everything translates well in a live action movie. It works for some characters and won't work for others. Wolverine for instance. A cartoon is one thing, but there's no way they could have portrayed Wolverine as a badass lethal fighting machine in bright yellow and blue spandex. Jackman would have looked silly.

The version of the new goblin reminded me more of boomerang with a flying plank, i actually enjoyed it for being a bit different and new.

If something like this, I have to say, I wouldn't be hurt. And if he transformed, fine. As long as it resembles something similar to the original Green Goblin.

I would love to hear some ad, ala the Dark Knight, "See Spider-Man fight The Green Goblin" for a second film. Would just love that acknowledgment the public knows of the Green Goblin as top dog.

^I really like that concept too and would love to see that on screen. I think that could work definitely!

See. There we go. That looks great and I think would work well on screen. And it looks much closer to the comics. Besides, it's not like the version we got "worked on screen."

The only two things I think they did well regarding the Goblin was his glider and pumpkin bombs.

Totally agree on that first part. That concept is one of my all-time favourite designs of Green Goblin (though, skip that sword...). I really like the horror-esque take on him. People seem to think that just because it's tight and green, it can't work. Even that purse doesn't look cheesy imo.

Yes, some things work and some things don't, we all know that. However, there's really nothing that says that specific design wouldn't work. A direct adaption from the comics would look lame, yes. But even Spidey's costume got some tweaks. Just use some imagination beyond "Must be armor for it to be cool!", and it will work.

I think tweaks is a good word. Even the Iron Man costume got some "tweaks" for it to work right.

I think Alex Ross just pwned you.

I actually like that version. I was talking about GG looking like he did in the picture you posted before. So no I didn't get pwned by anyone.

People who get pwned often can't see that they just got pwned. Which is why people have to point it out for you. You're welcome btw.

Oh, and rule number 27, NO CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!

I never even said that design wouldn't work. I was talking GG's original look. I understand the complaints about the Power Ranger GG look. It ain't the best design but if you stick to his original design in the real world, it wouldn't look creepy at all. It would look just as lame.

And I have nothing to thank you for.

Oh, and rule number 27, NO CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!
Um..okay?

I'm just messing around about the pwned thing. And I'm saying rule number 27 for the reboot should be no cheese. As in Raimi and his love for all this cheesy. We got enough cheese in SM3 for the entire franchise.

Rule #28 no Goblin onesie. Dude looks like he has on baby clothes.

why are they insisting in puting MJ as the main love interest?
They´re trying to cast her for the role, that´s already been done, put Gwen Stacy instead.

Because this isn't a reboot...it is a recasting.

Could have fooled me considering they've called it a reboot like, a hundred times. Just because it MAY be in college doesn't make it a sequel.

And remember this speech...

Tolmach also said he’s excited but nervous about his company’s upcoming Spider-man reboot, which he described as “Peter Parker told differently.” He promised it will look, feel and smell different from the three films starring Tobey Maguire. “We’re humbled by it,” he said.

Sounds like a freaken reboot to me. It almost sounds like you're in denial.

Marry Me!!!! :wow::wow:

And let me bear your babies... *wait a minute... THAT ain't right. :woot:

Totally ... TOTALLY... Agree!!!

Raimi's version came NOWHERE close to capturing the feel of Peter's friends like in the comics. It (Raimi's verse) felt like a codependent relationship between Peter and GweMJ... err.. MJ. (or whatever that "thang" was) :cwink:

And why ANYONE would fall in love with either one of them (Peter or MJ) was beyond me. From that standpoint, guess you could say they belonged together, because no one else would want them.

NOTHING like the relationship that developed between Peter and MJ in the comics after Gwen's death. *wipes away a tear*
