The Amazing Spider-Man Rules for the Reboot

Rule for Reboot(R_f_R). Keep the dynamics the same between Peter and Harry. The best storyline out of all the Raimi 3 movies.

R_f_R: Do not be afraid to take/make Harry an even darker contrast in the reboot compared to Raimi's version.

My ideas to throw into the saucepan:

1) Do NOT kill off any of the key villains.
2) Build up Osborn, Octavius and Brock from the beginning.
3) Introduce MJ in Movie 2. I guess she'll date Flash in this movie and in Movie 3 she and Harry will be dating in College.
4) Introduce Captain Stacy from the beginning (LOVE the Father figure idea).
5) Some of the Minor Villains can still make an appearance like Shocker, Flint Marko and whoever gets to be Rhino for example. I like the idea of Spidey foiling robberies etc.
6) Build up the dynamic between Peter and Flash from the beginning too as well as Harry. And I don't think Harry needs to be a pretty boy either!
7) Peter can date Liz in the first film and maybe date Betty in SM2 until Peter finally realises that he was meant to be with Gwen. A few hints along the way if you will. And in SM3 introduce Felecia Hardy so Spidey and Black Cat can have their moments.
8) Agreed NO UNMASKING in public and only Venom and Gobby to know Spidey's identity PERIOD!!!!
9) I wouldn't mind John Jameson in there in so long as it was because of him the symbiote ended up on Earth after all.
10) Venom standalone film - but not in the trilogy!
11) I say the first movie should be set in High School and then the other two transitioning into College OR the first two movies in HS and the last in College.

And how cool it would be if Spidey could team up with the likes of Daredevil and Johnny Storm. And if only Kingpin could work behind the scenes somewhere too not to mention Spidey being hunted down by Frank Castle eventually teaming up against Fisk!! :(

All good with a few exceptions:

1) GG1 will have to die eventually, or should, IF they go with the night Gwen Stacy died storyline (AND THEY HAD BETTER). But I agree with the others, and I do not want GG1 killed off too quick either.

6) Not sure about Harry not being a pretty boy, kinda like that dynamic. Makes Peter more of a everyman to me, and stresses that there is MORE than just the wrapper to Peter.

7) Peter dating others, not sure, just based on time constraints, and having to develop the relationship between Peter and Gwen. And no Black Crappy ANY TIME ANY WHERE, it just cheapens who Peter is, and the relationships he has with his true loves (Gwen and MJ).

10) The reboot without doing Venom/the symbiote justice that it lacked in Raimi's verse would be ANOTHER injustice and BIG mistake. Obviously, the symbiote and Venom should be a ways down the line, not til (hopefully) the second trilogy of the reboot.

And lastly... NO TEAMUPS!!!! :woot: The teamups in SM3 sucked and teamups in general suck IMO. Especially implying that Black Crappy can some how go toe to toe with Spidey's Super powered villains. :whatever:

And besides with other studios owning the rights to most of those characters, it ain't gonna happen. Spidey has enough GREAT characters in his own universe to not need any "additions".

But overall, great points and post.

Say something nice about your bro and these youngins turn it into something else entirely. :whatever::whatever:

A true Goblin Legacy in a first trilogy leading into a 4th film focusing on Venom is the way to go imo.

That said likely that we don't see the Green Goblin due to it being done before.

More likely we see something like the HobGoblin, Lizard etc.

FFS For Life! :cwink:

I can't even remember whether I was TB or FFS. :o

Bromance is all the rage these days, you know.

You know, I told the other brother that Slag was here. I suspect if I let him know you've arrived... he'll just HAVE to put in an appearance. :cwink:

Oh and another thing, a more faithful rendition of Gobby's costume and NOT the armour!

1. Not a HINT of black eye liner or emo sweeps on Peter, let alone in regards to venom.

2. Do not have it be a love story.

3. Improve on Peter's characterisation.

4. If you don't understand venom, don't do it.

5. I wouldn't mind seeing storylines about Lizard or Scorpian. Would hate to see a story about Rhino... seems like it'd be a bit too slapstick, him running into walls and stuff.

T-Rust me.. you were a FFS.. *purrrs*

Seriously, I had the same thought, but I took Brother Larry at his word. Figured his last remaining 2 functioning brain cells were not as "pickled" as mine. *thinks about those nights with Lar and Bro in Vegas (VEGAS BABBBYYYY!!!)... *maybe not my best call* :woot:

Bromance is all the rage these days, you know.

Yes, but will he still respect me in the morning... HELL.. did he ever respect me?? *Grrr*

NOooooo... Not my evil Twin (he got the looks from Mama, I got the one way train ticket).

Good stuff! Totally agree with only exception being that #2 falls under DO NOT make it ALL about ONE girl. Peter was, and should never be, ALL about ONE girl. There are/were many women/girls in Peter's life, and each has their own story and relevance.

Dang it all, I've got at least 7 functioning brain cells.

Oh and to the topic at hand, stick to the original material.

RFR - Make us feel it. I got to thinking about it, and while the Uncle Ben death and impact was ok in Raimi's verse, it felt... oh, I don't know.. to "Disneyfied" (to steal..errr.. borrow from Brother) :cwink:

It felt too PG or even G to a point, as opposed to a hard PG-13. And I am talking more along the lines of the effect of Uncle Ben's death, moreso that the actual death scene (which was kinda weak to me too), but more the effects on Aunt May.

The closest it came to real emotion was the scene in SM3, where May forces Peter to take the $20. Great scene. You felt her pain.

I want to feel Aunt May's pain with the death of her beloved Ben, but MORE SO, I want to feel Peter's pain/guilt. And the proper scene could do this.

I know Raimi tried, and I give him credit for that, but the Aunt May I grew up reading was NOTHING like the one in the movie to me. She felt like a take care of herself kind of Aunt May, as opposed to a burden/worry for Peter.

Again, he tried with the "behind in payments, etc.", but FAILED in the frailty part of the equation.

Bottom Line, the right scene, can evoke SO MUCH emotion along these lines, I want to ... FEEL IT... Mr. Webb.

Watching SM1 and seeing the mugger/rapists about to attack MJ... brings up a rule.. No snorting or barking to express "threat" to the heroine. Sheesh. Those "rapists/muggers" felt like they were right off the set of West Side Story or something.

About to break into song and dance.

MAKE IT REAL!!! Real Danger! Real threat! Not, barking/snorting...

MAKE IT REAL!! Make us feel that she is in REAL Danger, and not just in danger of them breaking out in "bad" song and dance.

OK.. I am ready for the pitchforks and torches (angry villagers of SHH :woot:)

but...

I did not really care for Dafoe's performance of Norman Osborn, or the GG. He was TOO over the top for me, as opposed to Ledger's Joker in TDK.

THAT is how I always wanted to see the GG/Osborn.

Now, I am not saying Dafoe's performance was bad, just not outstanding like it should of been IMO.

A chance to give us a True Goblin Mr. Webb... Costume, personality, Edge, etc..

PLEASE... Make it so.

7!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

So Bro Eagle got the looks and you (Bro Larry) got the brains in the family. :woot:

*Pouts*.. I would say I got the women at least but *Looks for Daisy*... *pouts some MORE* :cwink:

Cliffhanger endings. Leave us breathless waiting for the next installment, just like we used to with the monthly comics.

While I don't agree really about Dafoe (I think he was really good) I definitely want the next movie Osborn to be more cold, cool and calculating. Like he is in SSM (and the comics). A little more...bad-ass so to speak. The Raimi Osborn had more angst and desperation. While that's cool too, I think I still prefer a more cold Osborn. Norman should be almost even more scary than Green Goblin in character I think.
