Ryan Reynolds Get Buried.

What the hell? You people have pretty narrow imaginations. It's not just about a man stuck in a box. it's about clausterphobia and fear. If reynolds does well, we'll be fearing with him. That is if this director can pull it off and make it interesting as it seems. If he can't then, it'll be just a guy in a box. But there are possibilities here. You gotta think more.

duckyboy wants to be him. What man wouldn't?

To me this sounds intriguing. To many people are making this out to be him just laying there for 90 minutes. As you said Doctor Jones, if he does well he should be making us feel the fear. Personally I'm claustrophobic, so for me this film could be very scary and get me on the edge of my seat.

I mean people complain about other things.

But when something like this comes along people are like OMFG I need to see this!
Sorry there aren't any serial killers or elaborate torture devices or boobies. :whatever:

It figures. This is the kind of movie that presents a daunting creative challenge for the director and the actor and it taps into a very primal and basic fear. Y'know, it's actually interesting and it has the potential to be genuinely scary.

So no wonder you'd crap on the idea. :whatever:

But hey, keep plugging away at that supremely creative and original script of yours! :yay:

'Cause your generic (and poorly written!) serial killer script is wayyyyy more original than this movie. :yay:

I'm a bit clausterphobic as well. but i'll definitely be looking out for this. and it's original and an intrigueing one at that. And best of all it's psychological. And I'm willing to see reynolds do more serious acting. Plus he's good at it.

This thread gave us the sense of people's imagination. If you think it's just about a guy laying in a box, than you need to be a bit more open minded.

It also explains why they think Jennifer's Body will be "teh awesome".

They need to open their eyes(and minds)and at least wait for a trailer before they start crucifying it.

If you don't like what you see in the trailer, then give it hell or ignore it but it's sad when something a bit on the original side comes out and people are quick to jump on it even though most film lovers are always complaining about a lack of originality coming from Hollywood.

well its not like this hasnt been seen before ...
i mean KillBill Vol 2 had it and perfected it...
and it was in CSI where one of the cops is not only buried for as long a time but also with fire ants.

But this is just aobut Reynolds. He is the only person in this film. That will be more challenging and even more interesting.

I'm sure that..this movie won't be for everybody. But I'll buy myself a ticket for sure!

Depends if it will get a wide release or not.

Sounds interesting to me. Can't wait to see where they go with this to be honest.

This movie sounds really, really stupid.

And this is not so original as so many are trying to say. A one man show type of story made into a movie is far from being original.

Wow a guy in a box for 90 minutes.

That's So Original.

It'll probably be a lot better than the **** you watch. It's obviously going to have elements such as claustrophobia, paranoia, etc. -- if you can't see that then you're very narrow-minded and probably think most horror films need pop-ups to be scary.

In Kill Bill vol. 2, Quentin, his crew and Uma Thurman pulled off a scene exactly like this and was a lot scarier than nearly every horror film that's been released in the last decade.

Yeah, so name me all of the major movies on the market in the past, oh, twenty years or so that featured a single person on camera the whole time. Ostensibly held in a a few static shots and cut away, wherein the protagonist is trapped in a situation that taps in to a very basic fear.

C'mon. Go ahead. Name 'em.

I'm waiting. And also go ahead and explain why you think it's "really, really stupid" so that I can go ahead and explain why your explanation is indeed really, really stupid. :yay:

Only one I can think of is Phone Booth, and even that was very different from this.

That took place in a city, and there's alot of people in a city you know. And it wasn't that great. And Deep Water had two people. You can do more with that. This is much more challenging, including the confined space and the thought of being trapped.

So people trying to come up with ideas aren't really working.

I don't understand how people would see this as stupid. It's alot better and original than 90% of the movies and 99 - 100% of horror movies we see today.

The horror is the horror of claustrophobia. Doesn't rely on gore and cheap scares that will only last for a second. This will be throughout the whole thing if they get this right. And you should be able to put yourself in this situation and fear with him. Your heart should be pumping. And psychological is the best kind of thriller.

It's a shame, people really can't think about things more.

All I know is that regardless of whether you think this idea is great or stupid(I'm for the former), this will be the film that will show people if Reynolds can truly do more than just comedy in regards to his acting ability.

WTF is this? I mean, sure Ryan Reynolds is great, but what the hell? A movie with someone locked in a coffin for a hour & half or two??? If I ever watch this, I might need some ways to get myself not to fall asleep.

original does not always mean good.... this is one of those times.

Yes, we complain about terribly written, acted and pointless remake/DTV movies that you seem to love.
This has an interesting idea, good actor, and a movie that, if done right, could give us a director to look for. This idea has many fascinating ideas to it: isolation, paranoia, confusion, the fight for survival and an overall challenge to frighten the audience and keep them interested while taking place in a small space. Yeah, sorry there isn't enough blood and boobies for ya. :whatever:
