Saddest Character Death Scene

Ribisi in Saving Private Ryan

I still have trouble watching that scene and when the Jewish kid dies by getting slowly stabbed in the heart...:csad:

As for Tony Montana, why is everyone so sad about him? He is the bad guy. He ruins his own life. I felt worse for Manny and Tony's sister than for Tony. The movie is about power, money and ambition and how far it can take you. He destroys everything he touches. It's his fault. No way do i feel bad for Tony...

Kyle Reese in T-1.
Rufio in Hook.
Bruce Campbell in Congo (jk but he dies early on and I'm a big fan.)
Tim Robbins in Mystic River.

Shane.....if he is dying(I think he is).
Sargeant Elias in Platoon.
Old Yeller.
Lois Lane. Reeve's crowning moment as Superman!

I couldn't agree more.

I always interpretted he dies. The way he sluggishly rides trodes off on his horse. He looks to becoming lifeless.

Also, in What Dreams May Come when Robin Williams dies and when his wife commits suicide.

R.P. McMurphy's death in One Flew Over a Cookoo's Nest. He was lifeless after the lobodomy so Chief did the right thing and all but it was still sad.

...and if I recall correctly, in the last shot he is riding thru the cemetary.

McMuprhy's death is a double edge sword; great saddness offset by great triumph.

James Earl Jones' death by cancer in Clear and Present Danger.

When the movie came out, my dad was months away from the same fate. :csad:

When "momma" dies in Forest Gump.
When Dally dies in the Outsiders.

Hans Gruber in Die Hard, a truly misunderstood man, everyone thinks he's a terrorist, but he's really just an exceptional thief who's just upped his game to kidnapping that would be happy to talk architecture and men's fashion all day. Then some damn cop from New York drops him out a window.

Yeah, that was actually a bit of sarcasm on my part.

My last line about Pacino's subtle and understated performance should have given that away easily. ;)

Yeah, I was kinda questioning your judgement on that one for a bit...:oldrazz:

It is easily Macualy Culkin in My Girl when he gets stung to death by bees. That stuff ****ed me up as a kid!!!

The girl in the red coat in Schindler's List
Debra Winger in Terms Of Endearment
Johnny and Dallas in The Outsiders
Randy The Ram in The Wrestler (some will argue his fate, to be sure)

Here's a different one.

Theodon realizing that his son is dead in Two Towers. >.<

When they were playing baseball in A League of Their Own to commemorate those that have passed was sad.

Nicholas Cage in The Wicker Man. j/k

Jack Mosely in the alternate ending of 16 Blocks.
Theo Faron in Children of Men.

Newman and Redford in Butch Cassidy and the sundance kid. Even though that genius freeze frame make their exit more glorious than sad.

The scene at the end of The Elephant Man when John takes the pillows away to sleep like a normal man.

Billy Costigan (Leo Dicaprio) in The Departed.

Old Dan and Little Anne in Where The Red Fern Grows. Although the deaths in the book were much more upsetting.

I was saddened by Tomoe and Rorschachs' deaths even though I knew they were going to happen :(
