They could still get away with it though. :csad:

I gotta say, that shot of Anderson crawling out of his car with the wound and Ghostface behind him with that music felt so Scream to me.

Anyone notice how he said "****!" when he got stabbed in the head? :funny:
Tue, but I don't think we'll see her again. As for the part where Anthony Anderson get stabbed? Yeah, it really did feel liek a Scream moment. I loved it!

Perhaps Scream 5 will be some sort of take on Prequels. They did mention "time travel" being in Stab 5, right? It could be a clue...

^^
I think that was just a reference to horror films when they can't do any more with a character, they send him into space and things like that. Such as with Pinhead and Jason.

I think I've slowly fallen into an obsession over this movie.

Was it just me or did this movie seem more comedic than the previous ones? It's been awhile since I've seen the old trilogy, so I'll have to go back and compare.

Oh and

"**** Bruce Willis." Poor Anthony Anderson. :(

I don't think so. It seemed more along the lines of the first two. Scream 3 was comedic.

I laughed so hard when Anthony Anderson said hopelessly,"****!" But I was also shocked by how the knife penetrated so far into his head!

Isn't it clear enough what they'll do for a Scream 5?

They'll do exactly what they did in Scream 2 : make Jill's FATHER the killer. Since he wasn't even mentioned in Scream 4, Kevin can basically write his story any way he wishes.

I want to see a young male character be the focal point if there is a Scream 5. Guys can be just as frightened if alone with a masked killer with a knife. You look at many of the leading males today and a lot of them aren't your typical A sexual body building action hero, but can still hold their own (Shia labeouf, comes to mind as an example). That would really turn this series around. Give him a crucial backstory to play with...........

Maybe he's gay? Suffers from depression? Sees a doctor/psychiatrist? Hell they can even make the psychiatrist the killer or a really strong red herring.

Maybe his girlfriend just found out she's pregnant? His father is shamelessly disappointed in him. The possibilities are endless. And maybe HE goes out in search for Sidney for help and the trio don't even come back until the 3rd act of the film.

If it went this way, I would be extremely excited. The series has yet to do that, really.

I wouldn't mind seeing that... They could at least have one where [BLACKOUT]the boyfriend survives[/BLACKOUT].

It was gone in Scream 3 , wasn't it? He must of had surgery

I just looked, it's actually there in Scream 3. Didn't he have nerve damage? It's not a big deal, it's just funny that after carrying it for two films they dropped it.

Well, 10 years later, he could of had extensive surgery or therapy. He probably couldn't be sheriff unless he was back on his feet 100%.

Agreed, even though I still love Scream 3. It was, however, the most comedic of the 4. Scream 4 had some funny scenes, but not many.

I know. I'm saying even though it was a joke within the context of the movie, it could be considered a clue if Scream 5 focuses on prequels somehow. It goes "back in time" in that it deals with the past. Scream 5 doesn't actually have to be a prequel itself, just like Scream 4 wasn't a remake, rather the killers modeled themselves after the idea of a remake. Maybe somehow the killer of Scream 5 tries to make a "prequel" to the Ghostface/Stab murders.

I do think it had the most comedic opening of the three films (the beginning of Scream and Scream 2 have not been matched in the series) and, along with Scream 2, it had the most ironic/socially critical ending of the films. But it was far better executed and more violent/menacing than Scream 3. Scream 3 had more humor that fell flat. Scream 4 had more humor than the first film, but it was funny and the viscousness of Ghostface in this movie was far more brutal and unsettling than any murder since probably Casey.

BTW in terms of box office, I'm hopeful that it is going to really be "the new Scream for this generation." Scream 1 opened in fourth place with $6 million for its first weekend in 1996. But it had amazing word of mouth and went on to gross over $100 million domestic! Teens may not have been rushing to Scream 4 as they didn't grow up on the original trilogy. However, the ones in my theater were screaming and laughing and just having the perfect reaction to the film. It is trending well on Twitter, so I think it has a shot of small drops. That or clever satire/homages just don't click with this generation as Kick-Ass came out the same weekend last year and was a well-reviewed satire of a popular genres (it was kind of the Scream of superhero movies) and then it underperformed as well.

I like that idea, maybe the killer/s try to make an origin story on how Billy came up with Ghostface.

P.S. As I think it got buried in my long review...

My Favorite Lines of Scream 4:

1. SID: Don't **** with the original.

2. KIRBY: I didn't get a phone call....wait does that mean I'm going to die next?
DEWY: No.....maybe?

3. ROBBIE: Wait, wait....if it makes a difference, I'M GAY! <Ghostface looks at him puzzled and stumped for a moment>

4. GHOSTFACE: Time for your last question: name the remake of the groundbreaking...
KIRBY: Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes, Amityville Horror, Black Christmas, House of Wax, Prom Night, My Bloody Valentine! It's one of those, right?

(btw the last one was the trailer version, I'm pretty sure the list was longer in the actual movie).

5. GHOSTFACE: She got cut early. But you're the blonde with big ****. I'm going to take my time with you.
BLONDE WITH BIG ****: I have a 4.0 with a 195 IQ, *******.

This one was filled with them.
