Well yea, I can see what he tried to do. And i thought it was well done. But not for the Michael Myer's character. Zombie should have just created an original character.

Zombie has got talent, House of 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects were great i thought.

IMO, Rob Zombie's Halloween is one of the best remakes out there along with (don't yell at me) A Nightmare On ELm Street (2010), Tom Savini's Night Of The Living Dead (1990), Firday the 13th (2009) (didn't feel like a remake. More of a reboot), and I guess Zack Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead. I'm looking foward to the remake of Fright Night. The script to it is really good.

I justify that the Caruthers family moved from Haddonfield and Jamie and Rachel are living happily and Michael can't find them. You can't tell me otherwise. Then Michael found out ''Oh, **** my sister's alive." and got his ass killed by her. Laurie later reunites with Jamie and she Jamie, John, and even Rachel live as a happy little family.

The end with no ****ing white trash remakes, no Laurie dying, no Rachel dying, no Jamie dying. That's how it totally went.

I don't like directors coming out after the fact and blaming the studio. Him, Raimi, etc. need to either stick to their cards or jump ship if they are not happy, not release an inferior version of the product for a paycheck and then say "sorry, not my fault" when people hate it.

If you quit a production mid-filming, that will get you blacklisted in Hollywood. Meaning no one will hire you. It is not that simple to just walk mid-filming if you're being bossed around.

Same here. I never liked the fact that Michael was Laurie's brother though. But those sequels you mentioned were good.

I really liked the ending of 4, might be in the minority on that one though.

Anyway... Scream, yea. I loved the first one. Didn't really dig the sequels. I'll check this new one out though.

That's why you need a good script LOCKED before you start filming.

And besides - you don't get blacklisted. Does it make it harder to land a gig? Possibly. But time heals all wounds. And the best way to see this is - Richard Donner and Superman.

If a director backed out of a film mid-way and aired his/her problems publicaly saying - they wanted to "corrupt" characters or change the plot or w/e - REGARDLESS who takes over - fans / critics are smart enough to see where problems come up in a film and are going to side with the director who walked and give him more trust and integrity. Which just means another studio will hire him instead.

In short - you can walk out if the studio is ruining your vision. And unless like freaking Chris Nolan takes the reigns from you and bangs out a masterpiece in the end - you'll be fine.

I would have liked to have seen a possession storyline... it could have worked for that series and the mythical presence behind Halloween. Hell, it could have worked into what Michael wrote on the chalkboard.

I didn't see the ending of Halloween 4 as Jamie being possessed or anything. I just saw it as her going through a very traumatic experience as a young, fragile child... then snapping.

It just doesn't make sense for Dewey to be the killer. As someone mentioned before, he's now the sheriff of the town he loves and married to the woman of his dreams. What possible motive would he have?

Well, to be fair she did try and kill her... so just cause went out of the window and revenge came in.

Yeah. I touch on that in my horror series I'm writing. What makes the hero/heroine better than the killer (s) when they kill them? That sort of thing. It all really comes down to the fact Sid does it in self defense. These people have tried to kill her, try to kill people she loves, kill people she loves, but deep down Sid's the better person because she's the innocent victim and truly has a heart of gold.

Sid's probably one of the least selfish horror heroines there is. Her only moment of selfishness is in Scream 2 when she just has to check the car and Hallie gets killed. That's why I hate that bit. It seems sort of out of character.

Oh man, I hear you on that one. That scene always bugged me so much. Made Sid look so stupid and careless by going to unmask Ghostface and putting her own life at risk and pretty much causing Hallie's death in the process. Even if she had to unmask him, why didn't she bother taking the cop's gun, which was free for the taking after he was impaled to the hood? At least then she could've held Ghostface at gunpoint while she removed his mask in case he awoke and she would've had the upper hand by being able to shoot him.

If I was Sidney I would of climbed out , grabbed the gun, blasted the killer in the head , and then pulled off his mask. It's a movie though... c'mon she swung a necklace at a guy holding a gun..not a terrible idea but in all likely hood that wouldn't work

I never held it against Sid for wanting to run back and unmask the killer. She was so sick of running and being scared all the time. She just wanted to end it.

^^ Yeah, I agree. Laurie Strode tried doing sort of the same thing in Halloween Ressurection, though, she did unamsk him in the first film.

I hate that part as well. Sid should have just unmasked the ****er right then and there. Her ass was practically in his/her face!

I don't really know if this is a spoiler or not, but it's a generalization of Scream 4, so I guess it would be ok to view. I'll tag it just in case.

The great thing about Scream 4 is, and I realized this just now after reading all the Halloween discussions, Is that it works very much like H20 whereas the film is very much stand alone................You can completely skip Scream 2 and 3 and just watch Scream 4 and it still makes perfect sense. It's more complimentary to the first Scream than the other 2 were!

I really can't wait to watch it again!

That car scene with Hallie and Sidney is still the most suspenseful scene in the trilogy for me. When I first saw it, I forgot to breathe.

That and Casey Becker's scene are the two most tense scenes in the trilogy, IMO.

Oh that's definitely true. I totally agree. I just hate the tail end of it because Hallie dies essentially for Sidney's one moment of selfishness and stupidity. It's really the only part in the series where I've muttered under my breath about Sidney being dumb.
