Spoilers ADWD and last night's episode

How awesome would have been if instead of Jon[BLACKOUT]hanging the 4mutiners[/BLACKOUT] he would have said (mirrroring Slynt's execution in ADWD) "this is wrong" ordering Edd to [BLACKOUT]cut the ropes and fetch him a block, and have Thorne saying "you don't have the nerve to hang us" or smg like that. Only for Jon to draw Longclaw and behead them all himself. And then leaving saying his watch has ended[/BLACKOUT]

I didn't like this episode as much as last week's -felt like another slow bridge to (hopefully) greater things - as episode 1 was.

I was dearly hoping to avoid "The Adventures of Sam & Gilly" but we got a wasteful and disgusting scene with them anyway. Did we really need to see his vomit? Gilly is the most dull, boring, 'Plain Jane' character in the series, and Sam loves her and she loves him - we get it, they've been pounding that nail for five seasons now. [IMG]

Tyrion trying to converse with Missandei and Greyworm... [IMG]

Dany isn't getting enough time -wish they would have subtracted from the junk above to advance her story a little more.

Glad to see [BLACKOUT]Thorne finally die[/BLACKOUT] -would have preferred slow, painful flaying and/or burning though which he richly deserved!

I was a little disappointed with the ToJ. It was cool, but it's what's inside the Tower that matters to the story, and it looks like they're going to drag this out. I'm impatient about that - I admit it!

Arya [BLACKOUT]recovering her sight[/BLACKOUT] is at least some progress toward a much-needed exit from Braavos. I wonder how that's going to pan out? [BLACKOUT]"Thanks for the training, bruises, the physical and mental abuse, guys! Oh btw, a girl's name has always been ARYA and a girl's sword is NEEDLE!" <STAB!!!> "So long suckers!" [/BLACKOUT][IMG]

I liked this episode far more than last weeks. For the last two weeks they were jumping all over the place but not staying long enough for it to feel like much was happening. This week it felt like there was a reason for most of what we were seeing.

I know what you mean, man. I was shouting "SHUT THE F*** UP OLD MAN!" at my TV. That seriously pissed me off.

EDIT: WOW, just realized that Arthur Dayne was Woodes Rogers from Black Sails. Damn, now I want an Arthur Dayne prequel so I can see more of that dude because he's awesome.

Supposedly they were talking about a Roberts Rebellion mini-series, so that may happen.

Anyone else think Jon has been behaving more coldly since coming back? Maybe I'm just imagining things since I know he's supposed to lose a part of himself.

The Sam scene was just there to remind the audience where he's going. And the conversation between Tyrion and Missandei and Grey Worm was funny.

Lol, I can only assume the writers are deriving a sick sense of glee from teasing the audience about the TOJ.

    I knew Dayne looked familiar!

I don't think Jon has been behaving abnormally cold for a guy who just came back from the dead after being murdered by his own friends and comrades.

Also, he might be having an existential crisis and a crisis of faith. Apparently there is a god of some sort... but no afterlife. Considering all that, he seems to be pretty well adjusted.

Hey, anyone else noticed that when Dayne was stabbed in the back Ned killed him, but earlier in the series when Ned was stabbed in the back (really his leg) Jaime didn't kill him. A bit ironic.

He hasn't been back long enough for that to really be tested. He still seems bewildered yet he did hug Tormund. If he fails to hug Sansa -should they reunite- then maybe I'll buy that he's colder but I haven't seen it yet.

Obviously but who cares - unless he's destined to be the savior of Westeros! I'd rather have a reminder of where Gendry's going -that one's overdue!

I think Jon might have less patience for the petty politics of the Northern Lords, but I'd also think his experience with death would make him warmer toward Sansa and his Stark kinfolk. You know, cherishing what you've got because you know there's nothing on the other side.

"My watch has ended." So badass.

I assume he's gonna go south to Winterfell and clean house, saving Rickon (with any luck). He's probably gotta meet up with Bran at some point so he can learn the truth about his parentage. Sansa isn't too far off, maybe its about time we see a Stark family reunion.

I don't think we'll see Gendry again until Arya makes her way back to Westeros. Maybe she'll stay at the inn Hot Pie is working at and discover that another friend of hers has gained employment there...

You're probably right, but I don't know about a reunion with those three. If I was Gendry, I would steer well clear of the operational zone of the Brotherhood that sold me away, and IIRC he was headed back to King's Landing anyway in that rowboat. Perhaps that's where he'll run into Arya since she most definitely has an agenda there!

Shaggydog ...I am not OK, I am raging, oh please let Ramsay die by a thousand cuts, preferably administered by Brienne :cmad:

On the upside, Olenna Tyrell has returned and is casting more shade than a massive oak tree :woot:

Glad to see that Emila's 'no more nudity' in her contract has kicked in, especially as we didn't even get a glimpse of Jon's deadalive bum. Equal opportunities nudity or none at all, please! :yay:

A shaggy dog story is defined as "an extremely long-winded anecdote characterized by extensive narration of typically irrelevant incidents and terminated by an anticlimax or a pointless punchline."

Poor Rickon and Shaggydog. More cannon fodder for the Game of Death machine.

I was hoping to see Ramsay, Roose and Littlefinger burned by Stannis and Mel. I can still hope that Jon and Mel execute Ramsay by burning.

And hopefully Mel can use her power to make the burning last for an eternity. I don't want him to go quickly like Joffrey, I want him to suffer like Gregor Clegane.

I have (probably misplaced) faith that Osha will get herself and Rickon out of there. Oh who am I kidding it's going to be awful, isn't it? :csad:
