Loved the episode. That last shot, all I kept hearing was Joker saying "we'll see how loyal a hungry dog really is"

so did I

it will be interesting to see LF play with Sansa next week goes without saying
cant trust that guy

That was my favorite episode of the series. Might have been my favorite hour of television ever. My goodness. What separates this episode from others at the top was the pay off. The fact that two major events happen a world apart. We didn't just get Meereen and Dany's dragons, we also see her get her ships. We got that plus the battle of Winterfell. We got the Stark banners flying at Winterfell. We got Ramsay's death. We got the best swords and armor battle in film history, sorry Braveheart and Gladiator. Game of Thrones just took it to an entirely new playing field.

I love this show!

a great contrast for me showed when Davos restrained his archers because he was afraid of killing his own men, while Ramsay just had them keep firing away, not caring if the shot his army or Jon's.

Yeah that was great. I loved how Ramsay went full Longshanks mode :woot:

It was all a mixture really.

Braveheart,LOTR, Kigdom of Heaven and Gladiator all in 1hr

The battles and episode overall were fantastic. There's still a part of me that thinks some of the set-up was stupid; Sansa calling on Baelish makes sense, Jon getting emotionally played by Ramsay makes sense, but we all know the only real reason she didn't tell Jon the Knights of the Vale were coming was because they wanted it to be a surprise to the audience. She could have sprung the news on him before the battle, and it would have only added maybe a small character moment, not removed some of the setup, except to those audience members who didn't pay attention. That was the only major problem I had with the episode.

Now, about the battle...I loved seeing them play out the "press" of me that you hear about in the Battle of Cannae. Seeing men shoved so close to each other that they can't breathe and men get trampled underfoot was a nice use of ancient battlefield accounts that we just don't see in almost any Hollywood movies. Jon's kill streak was also epic, though yeah, maybe it would have been a bit better to see him use some Boltons as human shields during some of the arrow attacks.

Personally, I do hope they follow up on how Sansa and Jon pulled off a victory but while still working against each other a bit; we know that next week Jon's going to reiterate that they need to trust each other, so maybe he's willing to give a her more overt responsibility than he has in order to get her trust. Jon's a decent commander, but he had some major failings in the Bastardbowl that nearly got him and his men killed, and again, Sansa should have told him about the KotV.

Maybe the new setup for the Stark management is Sansa as the strategist and main politician, Davos as the diplomat, Jon as the battle tactician, and a Tormund as the heavy muscle.

Them slavers don't know when they are beat. Dany did a dragon flambé on their asses.
Zig zag kid
I think everyone was thinking that :funny:
Baelish can't be trusted, and he's going to stab the Starks in the back the first chance he gets.
He betrayed Ned and he will betray them. The real test of what Sansa has learned is how she deals with Littlefinger.
I am still annoyed that so much of the North turned evil. The Umbers, the Karstarks, etc. Also, the Bolton army firing on their own men... that seemed like something that someone should have protested. They might as well have been orcs by this point. But it was a great fight to watch.
I would of thought some of those Northern soldiers would of split as well but I guess they were still afraid of Ramsay and thought they were on the winning side.

and i wonder why Jon didn't correct Ramsay when he accused him of breaking his vow to the night watch. Ramsay said he's heard things about Jon, about being an amazing swordsman, but i guess people don't know he died right? unless they were there?
I don''t think Jon cares what Ramsay thought of him. He was planning on killing Ramsay anyway.

Rumors of Jon's resurrection may be around but I'm sure many people don't believe it.

I like that word is spreading about Jon being a badass swordsman.

Great ****in battle scene. Glad Ghost was left behind at castle black or where ever he is now.

Daenerys, Yara and Sansa as Queens of their respective regions and throw Mormont into the mix. 😮 Girl power indeed. Then there's Dorne but nobody wants or cares about them.

White Walker army has so many zombies for its ranks now and the north has lost a large chunk of its fighting men after these various battles.

They got a lot of bodies to turn into ashes. They better start with Wun Wun.

And the 62 Bear Island men.

Who knew the Knights of Vale were coming aside from the Knights of Vale (and most viewers). Did Sansa ever get a raven back confirming? I doubt it. Sansa likely never heard back from Littlefinger. She only had hope. Why wait for something that may never come?

It's set up perfectly for fire and ice. Kings Landing is in turmoil, will be easier takings for Dany and her fire. The north has been decimated. Will be easy takings for the Night's King and his ice.

The wildcard is now Jaime and the troops he commands. If anything should doom the remaining Lannisters in Kings Landing, what will Jaimie do?

she must have known something. she was randomly sitting on her horse next to baelish.
