Its cool that old foes apart from venom and green goblin are used. i think its sad tho that the newest villain in "spideys greatest villains" is venom, really. perhaps carnage. shame we havnt hada new, instant-classic foe for a decade or two!

This should be kick-ass. And i am SO happy to see a continuity-friendly writer handling the first meeting between Ock and the recently identity revealed Spider-Man.

The one thing I like the most about the unmasking is that instead of going back to try to rewrite history, they are creating it by doing something new.

Agreed. I've seen comparisons between the Clone Saga and the unmasking and the big difference is that the Clone Saga tweaked with Spidey past history...this isn't.

It's also why Sins Past was such a huge disaster. Leave the past alone, move forward.

Why on earth would he joke about something as serious as Venom being back in town, especially with his students who are still dealing with the fact that their teacher is Spider-Man?? I doubt it's Brock that's back though, because on the cover of Civil War #5 is Gargan's Venom.

There is a broadcast on TV about the villains going wild, and you can see Ock on it. I wonder if there is a mass escape or something. The way Ock is dressed, it looks like he just escaped from somewhere. I've never known him to go around shirtless.

One thing I'm glad about though, is that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is supposed to be big into continuity. I hope Ock mentions the events of ASM #12 and the Countdown incident.

Because Spidey always jokes around? Besides, Spidey hasn't taken Venom seriously since the late 90s. Remember how Peter would have panic attacks every time he heard that Venom was back in town? Recently, he acts as if Venom wasn't a big deal. And I'm refering to VENOM, not Scorpom.

Hmmm ... I'm noticing that no one seems to have made a thread about Sensational SM # 27 and the end of the "Feral" storyline. Does that mean that most of us were underwhelmed by the end of that storyline?

It was a pretty good story idea overall, but seeing Black Cat take down the Lizard - again , seeing Stegron start crying at the prospect of loosing his meteorite, and seeing Spidey whip out those stupid stingers and go all Wolverine kind of soured it for me. Since when was Stegron able to be reverted back to a human as shown in that flashback? What about Billy now having the Lizard serum in his system? Will Black Cat quit making a pest of herself around Spidey now that she's hooked up with Puma, or will some other writer simply forget it ever happened?

"Feral" was a nice action-packed diversion from the weirdness going on in the other Spidey titles, but it remains a dim light in an otherwise dark sky of disappointing Spidey storylines. Final score: 7/10.

Yeah, started off amazing, I enjoyed the whole thing but the ending seemed a little hastily wrapped. Look forward to more from the new team.

I was a little dissappointed with the end of "Feral" as well. It wasn't BAD by any means, but I expected more.

All in all, the fact that it didn't end with a "Shock" or "Startling revelation" makes it better than the other 2 Spidey books....until next month, when they all become worthless to me....
