Comics Spider-Man Noir

That sounds very interesting and fun. I really can't wait to read it!

I'm only worried about a mystical spider bites Peter and grants him spider power thingy

Hmm this is an interesting concept and I like how there just picking the villains who would best fit this "Noir world" instead of shoehorning other ones like Venom

EDIT.

The costume looks pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Hmm. maybe this can be something for someone who is dead tired of the regular Spidey-comic. I will definitely keep an eye on this project.

That's precisely what I was thinking. It sounds like an "Elseworlds", and that isn't a bad thing.

Hearing about a cannibal vulture reminds me how much I miss Spider-Man 2099....what a phenomenol book.:csad:

Can't wait, that costume looks kick ass. I'm curious how Pete's gonna get his powers and what they'll be (it says he'll have muted powers so not what he's got now). I'm a big fan of this type of story (I compell you to go to the bookstore and pick up Nightmare Town by Dashiell Hammett immediately). As long as this Pete doesn't sell his soul for wheatcakes, I'll be reading this.

...I dont know I think venom would be perfect for this concept. Some sicko who works out religiously with some form of schizophrenia. A red dragon type of thing. He could put in fake dentures like in the movie but have them all filed down to resemble venoms grin. Screw it im writing this book if marvel doesn't

Aloha,
Looks very interesting. At the end of the day, whenever you are dealing with the public, you are not going to please everyone. As long as Marvel can provide alternatives to folks that are Spidey fans but not a part of BND, that's good business.
Spidey rules

This really sounds exciting.

More so for Spidey and DD. If any of the characters just sets its self up for being part of a "Noir" universe, its DareDevil.

Plus to see a depowerd/Noir style Spider-Man just really intrests me.

Yeah... both the Spidey & DareDevil books come as very appealing...

:yay:

Marvel's released the solicit. for #1.

SPIDER-MAN NOIR #1
Written by David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky, art by Carmine Di Giandomenico, cover by Patrick Zircher, variant cover by Dennis Calero.
With great power, there must also come great responsibility -- and when those in power abuse it, it's the people's responsibility to remove them. The year is 1933, and New York City is not-so-secretly run by corrupt politicians, crooked cops, big businesses...and suave gangland bosses like New York's worst, the Goblin. But when a fateful spider-bite gives the young rabble-rouser Peter Parker the power to fight the mobster who killed his Uncle Ben, will even that be enough? It's a tangled web of Great Depression pulp.
32 pages, $2.99.

I felt a little disappointed reading about "suave gangland bosses like New York's worst, the Goblin". It is tiresome that they always have the Goblin as Spidey's worst enemy.

Well, when they create a new universe from scratch I just feel that when they have a chance to be really creative it feels like a missed opportunity when they do stuff they've already done in the main universe.
