That's disheartening to hear, but hardly surprising.

Where is this time they have, though? I doubt it'll play into IW as anything more than a cameo. And a Cap 4, if it happens at all, would come 4 or 5 years after this, and at the rate things are going is going to involve major subplots with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
I'm not surprised at all as well. Marvel/Russos probably decided on a slow-to-death-burn development after the Brutasha backlash. Every tidbit released keeps lowering my Staron expectations. At this rate I'll be satisfied with a mere two short exchanged glances like Wanda gave Vision in AoU.

I'm highly doubting that we will get to see Sharon in her suit. Little details like at least getting her to wear a dark grey vest would be a nod to her comics grey suit

Face it, Cap will remain the 95 year old virgin through this entire franchise.

Surely he slept with that blonde chick that gives him the eyes in TFA when she asks for an autograph.

No way. He was completely flustered by the attention and continued to be flustered when the secretary put the moves on him later in the movie.

Evans is of the opinion, that even after touring with all those nubile chorus girls he was a virgin saving himself for the right partner, Peggy. Looking at how he reacted to Nat's kiss and the complete lack of game when asking Sharon out to coffee and I don't think anything's changed since he's been defrosted.

Poor guy. Seemingly everyone, male and female, wants him and he's barely been to first base. :hehe:

Fair enough, I mean I know he was obviously flustered and had pretty terrible game but I would have assumed one of the girls would have thrown at him so much even with terrible game he wouldn't have needed to do anything.

On the plus side that's what the girls get for not paying attention to him when he was short and weedy. :sly:

Yeah, before filming, in an earlier EW interview he said Cap will be in a relationship with a woman.
People just love too much to take words out of context and make assumptions. It's like when Russos never promised EVC to have a big role, but fans instantly made up their minds on that. Evans never said "will be", he said that there is so much to explore in Cap3. And that EW interview was taken during the shooting of the AoU, when TWS was still on the big screens, almost the year before the CW's shooting.
Anyway, there are too many reasons to erase the love arc from this movie to know exactly, which one was the catalyst. I remember Russos said, they will see, what in TWS will find response from the audience before working with Cap3. So they expanded Bucky's role so much, that Stan said TWS was only an introduction for his character. Russos was obviously very impressed with his acting and interested in his story arc, you can tell from their comments on TWS. And that's not the case with EVC and her character at all.
And judging by the promo art and the trailer with recent EW article, Wanda took her place in this one, like Widow was given her role in TWS.

and he feels very comfortable in a uniform
Oh,I see, this line pretty much echos Steve's words in the end of AoU about Avengers base as his home and not wanting stability anymore.

They weren't worthy and also crazy because he was freaking adorable.

I once had an argument with a film critic after Captain America: The First avenger came out who believed that Cap is and should be Tony Stark's father. I think he seemed to get this idea that Peggy Carter was Tony's mother.

Surely he didn't. It's obvious he didn't.

In my head cannon, Captain America had a chaperone with him at all times during the public tour, effectively preventing these kind of risky situations with groupies. On the other hand, his tour handlers could have set up some "interactions" for him under discrete and controlled circumstances. You know, in the interest of his health and everything. :)

This way he could have some physical experience yet still be somewhat naive and unskilled in romancing a woman.

Virgin or not, Cap's desire to serve and do right is greater than his desire to mate.

.

That critic was not only not paying attention but also had quite the Stark-centric MCU world view. Never mind that Howard Stark was RIGHT THERE in the movie played by an actor who believably resembled RDj. And never mind that Cap went down without consummating that relationship at least 20 years before TS was born.

Craziness.

Take words out of context? Here's Evans' EW quote on the AoU set again.
Does that ever change?
That’s why it’s kind of exciting to look forward to Cap 3. I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there’s just so much to explore. Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony] Mackie’s character, but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman.
ultimately a relationship with a woman.

Here's Evans' EW quote on the CW set again.
“I think he’s looking,” Evans says. “You know, I think he’s certainly open to it. Sharon is obviously relevant, but … we don’t have to tie it up in one movie. So they have time
This suggests like I mentioned in an earlier post that the writers have opted for a slow-to-death-burn development on their relationship that will continue on in the IW movies. I think in CW you'll see them just developing a friendship by working together first like in the comics with maybe a little flirtation here and there. So Staron won't happen overnight, but they will happen.........I think that's from a pantene ad.

Anyway, Staron or not I'm just happy that Sharon gets a bigger role in CW. Also Anthony Russo said in a Brazil comic con interview that which ever character is your fav they tried to show them doing amazing things and to give them their due.

ultimately a relationship with a woman.
And it's going after "there’s just so much to explore". As I already pointed, this interview was A YEAR befor CW shooting.

So, it's confirmed, that he didn't even call her. Not much interested at all, just "open". And all the same talk was after TWS, so?
Sharon gets a bigger role in CW.
Again, for now it's just your wishful thinking. Nobody confirmed that. Russo said, that Wanda and Vision will get important parts.

Anyway, I think, that's it. Russos confirmed Wanda+Vision in this one. So, in Cap's solo film they don't have time for Staron, but have time for ScarlettVision. That's hilarious!:hehe:

Cap will be probably end up being a 100 year old virgin, and Vision will likely loose his before he's three years old. :funny:

ScarletVision is much more likely to happen than Staron.

Pretty sure Wanda Vision is someone's wishful thinking.

You're just trolling now. We, as in you and I, don't know if Cap called Sharon since we haven't seen the movie.

If Staron's not going to happen in the slightest then why all the talk about Cap's love life by Evans in interviews? Like I said Sharon will get a bigger role in CW than in TWS according to facts like EVC being on set filming for much longer than she did in TWS.

If Wanda/Vision happens instead of Staron in CW then that's good by me since I like that pairing too.

Face it, after Age of Ultron and Evans' words it's pretty clear, that he didn't call her.

Yeah, talk about Cap's love life, not Staron. Evans certainly couldn't say out loud that Cap will never find love. That's his rule in the interviews:"Never say "never"". All he could say about Sharon, when asked, is that she's "relevant". Notice, he again didn't promised anything, he didn't say anything about developing their relationship in this movie. While Russos already are talking about relationship between Wanda+Vision. And about Cap and Co they said: "It's Cap, Bucky and Sam".

Oh, yeah, Maria Hill's size of role will be bigger. 5-7 mins instead of 3 in TWS. So? You don't know for sure how long and when exactly EVC was or wasn't on set. It's pretty obvious at this point that her supposedly big role was given to Wanda in this one.

Fine, if you say Cap didn't call Sharon he didn't call Sharon, he probably texted her or messaged her on facebook. :woot:

Wait so you want Cap to be a 100 y.o. virgin pining for a dead Peggy, well fine then. Also, why would the Russos and Evans reveal that Cap gets with Sharon in CW? That's spoiling too much.

Russos talking about Wanda/Vision? Link thanks. I'm happy they'll continue with their pairing in CW from AoU.

Again I said a bigger role in CW compared to the 3 mins she got in TWS. So if she ends up with 2 or more extra minutes than I would consider that bigger.

I'm pretty sure it's an established part of the Marvel Universe since the 70's and not anyone's wishful thinking. These films don't have to be beholden to th books. They are adaptations after all. But... It's not some pipe dream to think that they WOULD use established relationships in the films. That's why this debate over Sharon Carter is so silly and obtuse. Some are acting like it comes PURELY out of some feverish shippers mind on Tumblr when it's a long established relationship from the books. They don't HAVE to do it, but it being a decades long thing would suggest that it's likely hood is greater than some other choices.

And I know people like to think of Cap as pure as the driven snow but it's freaking ridiculous to think he's a 95 year old virgin. Sorry to burst your idealized bubbles but all ya'll great grandfathers that fought in WWII, far from home, going to exotic lands and meeting exotic women, and facing DEATH on a daily basis? Yeah... They had sex when the opportunity arose. I happen to thing of Steve as a character with three dimensions. He had sex. It's silly to think other wise and even if Evans is going by that... It's still silly. It adds nothing and no... It's not romantic to think he waited for Carter, since they never were officially a couple per se. Cap operated across the globe in the greatest conflict man has ever had... I don't begrudge him having a one night stand on occasion. Saying he never got that dance was not code for "I'm still a virgin." It's code for, "I'm so damn sorry WE never got together."

I think CE talks about Cap's love life because CE loves love. However, in talking about this movie and the quotes that we have (not much to go on) about the designated love interest, he uses the word "relevant" which is IMO a very odd choice of words. Granted, there is lack of context. Who knows what he was asked to elicit that quote.

But we do know this about Cap and love and Sharon: he's thinking, he's open, she's relevant, and there's plenty of time to tie it up or lock it down, or whatever he's talking about. :whatever: :loco:

That was pretty funny. You made me laugh.

Pretty much this. Even if you're somewhat vaguely familiar with comics, you would know that Scarlet Witch and Vision were kind of a big deal. Some people are just funny.

But, this is the PG-13 Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nothing but Disney kisses for our heroes!

i think MCU Steve is a virgin. Then again even Natasha seems really innocent to me (like when she was trying to get with Bruce) so who knows.

I am aware that Wanda/Vision is a thing and a thing that people want to see. which is why I'm not sure how I missed when "Russos confirmed Wanda+Vision in this one".

Although I can conjure up scenarios within MCU canon to support that Cap is NOT a virgin, I believe that he is. That is as easy to accept as it is to believe his receiving one elaborate procedure where he doubles his body mass in 5 minutes. Likewise the Hulk. Regarding the size, I mean. Heh.
