Emily looked beautiful at the premiere :)

They also introduced her on the main stage as part of Team Cap and she stood with Team Cap... (the plot thickens) lol

She looks wonderful. She's Team Cap, but she's touring with Team Iron Man??

Both Chris Evans and Emily VanCamp confirmed...

their characters are in a relationship by the end of the film
Oh I wish I didn't read that, but I couldn't help myself. I hope they really, really, really earn that, it's organic, and they better have worked for it. Do you have a link of them confirming that?

Although to be fair, most of the people in this thread take her far too seriously too

Pots & kettles

Yes, wanting Sharon to have a prominent role in a Captain America film is the same as wanting someone dead over a ship. Bravo.

I hope EVC's role as Agent 13 will increase in MCU over time, and if Hayley Atwell ever decided to stop doing Agent Carter I hope ABC will continue the series with EVC as Agent (Sharon) Carter. She needs a series to really flesh out her character, much like how Agent Carter did likewise for Peggy Carter.

If true
why do I get this feeling something bad happens to Sharon in IW? which causes Steve to return as Captain America I can see the Russo's doing that.

That would be nice tbh but so far I don't buy it because I've seen Emily and chris's interviews during the premiere and they barely spoke about Steve and Sharon relationship so they wouldn't be spoiled something that big (or maybe Emily would :P).

Maybe it's spoiler from a person who watched the movie last night?

That's the dream tbh.

They were cute last night!

They could also add her to the ensemble cast of SHIELD to provide a true connection between shows and film.

Does anybody in Civil War have less screentime than Sharon, aside from Ross or Aunt May?

yes.
my balls have less screen time too. :o

...
we're finally getting interviews and cute pics of them together, and confirmation of the evolution of their relationship.... can't you be happy for like 5 seconds??

Do the 5 second have to be consecutive?

Serious answer; I'll take what I can get, but waiting so long to get little sucks.

@TimJEldred How was Sharon Carter out of ten?

Tim Eldred ‏@TimJEldred

@CloudBlueMoon The best thing about the movie is that everyone got their chance to shine, no matter how much else there was to do.

@TimJEldred Thanks. Did Steve and Sharon feel forced or organic?

@CloudBlueMoon It built nicely and felt like a first step. It also lead to one of the most charming and funny moments in the whole movie.

Man, I'd love to get excited, as Sharon was the character I'd been looking forward to the most aside from Cap.

But the fact that she was removed from Team Cap, that there appears to be isolated storylines for some characters, and that the best people have to say is that everyone shines, like they said about TWS... Eh.

EDIT: I mean, there's schadenfreude at least.

I think Carter was never meant to be on Team Cap "officially", just used as a replacement for Wanda on marketing due to Fox/Marvel issues or something.

well Wanda appeared on marketing too....

Myself, I'm not so sure.

I mean really, what would be the point? Why costume and gear she isn't going to wear?

I read a tweet from someone I've been following and trust from last nights premiere, but it looks like it deleted now. :(

Hopefully it's true but everything else I've found has indicated that they start a relationship in this film.

I also read spoilers from the junior novelization which seems to cover only the first half of the movie and there's nice Sharon and Wanda parts. I'm excited. A thing to note is the novelization cut out some spoilerific stuff (which had to do with Sharon) so I feel like she's going to be in the film pretty consistently.

All I really want to know is if we will see her use her weapon and wear her outfit from all the promo pics and some of her figures. It seems really strange they would promote her so much in that outfit and with that weapon if she doesn't do anything with it in the film. They could have easily replaced her with someone else on all the promo material and Marvel is hardly lazy to use old drawings/art, etc --- especially when it's not in the film. I don't think they've ever done that.

I am holding out hope we see that outfit and she atleast hits someone with her weapon once in the film... lol

She doesn't even need to be a big part of that fight.

Maybe she wears it in the airport scene because EVC was spotted in the Liepzieg airport set after all. Sharon will only get a chance to use the garrote wire on henchmen.

Even EVC has been repeating that she only gets a "little action". :cmad: So basically a Maria Hill sized action only.

No worries bout the link because I'll find out in 2 weeks time.

From the stuff I've been reading the general consensus is that it's bigger than the 3 mins, but only slightly :cmad:.

Its an adaption of the Civil War comic with tons of superheroes. This is a superhero movie. People go to see superhero movies to see superheroes. Sharon Carter is NOT a superhero. So its obvious why she isn't getting a bunch of action scenes or much more screentime than she got last time.

Because, as we know, if if a non-superhero gets action scenes or ample screentime, the superheroes will fade away, Back to the Future style.

(For the umpteenth time) this is also a Cap movie and Sharon's a Cap major character in his mythos who has kicked so many asses in the comics I've lost count since 1966. Sharon is a regular human, not SUPER just like Hawkeye and Widow and yet how come they're there? Pffft :whatever:.

I just saw that Sharon/Widow/Tony/T'Challa vs Bucky, Kimmel clip and I swear that 5 secs of action she participates in better not be the only one.

Okay, bad news, telling from the reviews out now Sharon's hardly mentioned. I'm getting the vibe that her screen time is only equal to or lesser than Spiderman's. 10 mins of screen time is not enough to establish and develop her character.

Here's one negative review I found (so far).
The only loser in the bunch is poor Emily VanCamp, who is arguably there to briefly make out with Steve Rogers and undo the Steve/Bucky slash-fic talk. There really are too many characters, especially when the only point of having so many is for that big action sequence.

Here's one positive review I found (so far).
Notably, “Civil War” doesn’t play Captain America for laughs or treat him as a genial anachronism in the way that the earlier films did; its most crucial flashback to the guy’s pre-coma existence (which occasions a brief, impressive turn by Emily VanCamp) exists mainly so that we can hear his inner determination put into words: “Compromise where you can. And where you can’t, don’t.”

Well to be fair, Hawkeye and Widow are Avengers.

I feel like Sharon's biggest purpose in this film is to just finally give Steve Rogers a love interest in the MCU, which is a shame because I feel like they could have done more with her character.

If they hadn't made the MCU Version of Black Widow into the Downright Heroic figure as opposed to the morally gray person that she is presented as in the comics, then I feel like Sharon could have taken that heroic female role...giving a great contrast between her and Widow's ideals.

I didn't want them to go in that route. I really wanted them to develop her and show her being her own person before any hanky panky with Cap which they should've done in TWS.

Or maybe kept the female lead in TWS like Sharon was initially suppose to since that role screamed Sharon from the comics anyways.

And to be fair CW is supposedly a Cap movie, not another Avengers movie.

Apparently all that means is Cap gets the biggest part. The rest has to be devoted to bring in Ant-Man, to bring back Hawkeye, to give Vision and Wanda their own arcs, and to set up two franchises.

But yeah, the Russos don't hate Sharon.
