And if the movie gets lucky and has X3's "legs" it still won't hit 200mil in the states.

^ He didn't use to be. Claremont is probably rolling over in his grave. And I know he's alive.

There is no way Wolvie is more homoerotic than Batman & Robin...

:wow: This movie is making alot of money despite all the hatred for it here on the net. :hehe:

Who's crying?

I watched the movie a month ago, thought that it was mediocre and predicted a 90 million opening weekend anyway and it did 85mil. It deoesn't matter if the movie magically has good legs (it won't) and makes 250mil in total I still won't like it. Transformers made over 300mil and I don't like it. I don't judge movies based on boxoffice numbers, it's ashame if you or anybody else does.

I enjoy talking about the boxoffice but that doesn't mean that I like every hit or flop.

The whole X-series has been a disappointment to me but this flick was the worst of them all. So no, i'm not just picking on Wolverine.

^Don't worry it'll get better. Fox will learn from their mistakes in this one and make Wolverine 2 the best damn X - Men movie EVER. Don't lose faith.

I'm going to save this quote and have a good laugh in a few years.

i personally feel the first X-men was the worst

any way i don't judge by numbers ether i just like seeing a movie i liked Do good [also if u watched the leaked one it wasn't finished]

when i talked about crying it was more towards the ones who are all "OMG Fox suxors " or activly wanted the movie to fail

I know for a fact that the final version changed hardly anything.

Me too. I heard it was different from the workprint soo much that it felt entirely like a new movie.

I knew they overestimated to make the movie look like it made more than X2 on opening weekend. Just like last year when Iron Man was estimated to have made 100mil when it really opened with 98.6mil.

Lets be honest my fellow haters, this flick was always going to open huge so these numbers shouldn't come as a shock to you. The huge fall it's going to have next weekend is what really matters though. I think that it will be lucky to make 190mil in total. No chance of 200mil unless the studio pushes it Superman Returns style...AKA, pretend that it made 200mil.

Agreed! But I think it will barely end up with about 160 million domestically.

Another theory that I have is that it's not going to necessarily drop 70% in it's second weekend but thats it's pretty much going to drop over 50% for weeks to come.

I just hope it make 200 million domestically and 100 million foreign. it can happen.

^It's going to make alot more than 100M internationally. ALOT MORE.

Sarcasm?

85 is a mediocre opening... you got films like Twilight and Furious pushing those kinds of numbers and they didn't even come out during the summer season, but anything less than 100 million these days for summer tentpoles of Wolverine's magnitude is pretty "meh" no matter how you spin it. I won't consider IM2 as another hit brewing unless it does AT LEAST 125-140 million OW next year.

^I think Iron Man has the potential to beat TDK's OW record of 158M. We'll just have to wait and see.

I thought TDK was 160ish, but absolutely IM2 has a shot. And I'll go on the record by saying, with ANY luck with Thor and Cap, Avengers will push that record to 180ish... not to get cocky but I'd expect that if the quality remains better or consistent with IM. Numbers are supposed to increase every year for the most part, not go down 30-40 million.
