saw this and its just okay charlize was the best part of the movie.kristen stewart cannot act she is horrible.hemmsworth was good and i like the dwarfs.i didnt like how they turned snow white into joan of arc though.

Had a funny feeling this would get ordinary reviews. 0 for 2 for Snow White this year.

Don't care what the reviews say, this was a good movie and a proper Grimm's tale. That is to say it was beautiful with moments of both light and dark. I hope to see future Huntsman movies.

Everyone pulls out the "don't care about reviews" card when the reviews aren't what they want to hear.
As of right now SWATH is lower than Mirror Mirror on Rotten Tomatoes when it comes to critics, I do expect the number to rise though and they will both be 50/50 in terms of reviews, though SWATH will definitely do better box office.

Not sure if you are implying I am a liar about not caring about the reviews but I do in fact not care what the reviews are saying same as how I do not care what the reviews are saying about Prometheus. Good or bad I decided I would see both films over a year ago and critics weren't going to change that. I am capable of making up my own mind without any suggestion from professional critics. I read reviews because I like to hear others opinions. Not because I want to hear a specific reaction. They do not factor into how I view a film. If I like it then I like it critics be damned. There are a few I tend to agree with and funnily enough they have given this film good marks so one could say the reviews are in fact exactly what I wanted to hear.

Saw this last night. WOW. Not a good film at all. The Acting was over the top, the script was just........, the score was so Generic. The only performances I enjoyed was Hemsworth. The movies just didn't know what it wanted to be and tried to be everything but a Snow White story. It was Princess Monoke at one point then Joan of Arc. It tried being Funny/Silly then really, really serious. Dark and Gritty but Safe for kids. It was just all over the place. It marketed itself as a Action Fantasy movie but it was so Dull.

I will say tho the CGI was top notch.

Left really Disappointed.

Richard Roeper said this was way better than mirror mirror. I can't really comment, because I never saw that, but I can certainly see why some critics had a problem with this movie, but I thought it was done very well.

I thought that the score was great. In fact its imo one of the best ive heard in a while.

55mill this weekend they were only looking at 38mill so big win

Universal underestimated it to avoid looking bad again like they did with Battleship.

Hemsworth 9
Stewart 8
Theron 7
The Prince 7
The Dwarves 8
Queens bro 8
Thanks mate.

Hemsworth a 9! That guy is going to be huge one day.

Sounds like Stewart was convincing. Was a bit worried about that although she looked fine in trailers. Was hoping for something crazy from Theron. Loved everything I've seen of her in this.

Queen's bro? I need to brush up on my Snow White lore lol.

Universal has nothing but Universal to blame for the Battleship disaster. Also the people that decided on & agreed to the one month difference between Domestic & International. Needs to be fired. That also played a role in Battleship bombing. It gave people plenty of time to find & download bootleggs for that one

I don't think there was any way to underestimate Battleship! :woot:

Did anyone find Theron absolutely terrible in this?
I didn't hate her but I thought she was annoyingly over the top a few times throughout. and I forgot to give my thoughts on the score, yeah, I didn't like it all that much, at one point it sounded like f***ing dubstep in the middle ages, and was overall generic and forgettable to me.

you got a point i saw it 3 weeks before it came out.the bootlegs were so easy to find for it.

I thought it was decent. There's some stuff I really liked about it but I didn't leave with a lasting impression. The visuals were great , I liked the atmosphere, and the performances were all good. It just felt like something was missing or skipped over. I'd say it had potential to be better.

I'm not a big fan of Kristen Stewart but she was serviceable to the role. Hemsworth is just great in everything. The dwarves were fantastic and I was hoping they would of come into the story sooner. Nick Frost and Ray Winestone were hilarious. Of course Charlize went over the top but I was expecting that so it didn't bother me. I thought she was one of the most entertaining aspects. I also liked Sam Claflin as William but he didn't have much to do.

The film was really dark , which I tend to like, but some of the lighter moments felt out of place. The enchanted forest was almost a relief until something else transpires and there's an unexpected death. Then we hear loud ( enya? ) music. I'm nitpicking though , it was a decent. I'd compare it to Willow or Legend but not as memorable.

A sequel has been mentioned somewhere but I'm not sure where they could go from here.

They claim that the Huntsman will find his way into other Grimm fairy tale stories in future flicks. Basically that huntsman is THE huntsman that's always featured in those stories.

HR, did you really prefer Stewart in the movie over Theron? Interesting. Not that I disliked Stewart in it.

I did not find much enjoyment watching this movie. The story felt like it just wandered with no real direction with some poor editing. Theron was over the top and chewing up scenery, which I'm glad cause it kept things from being a bore. I also liked Stewart and Hemsworth in their roles but the Prince was kind of useless and underdeveloped.
