The Dark Knight So could our TDK mesh with singer's Superman?

The movie on the whole can't possibly come off as anything other than a cheap gimmick, which is why I'm opposed to it. Plus, as others have said, Nolan and/or Singer would probably not go near a project like this, and it's doubtful if Bale would, for that matter.

I'd much rather let Nolan make as many solo Batman movies as he wants, and let Singer make as many Superman movies as he wants, and then hopefully by the time WB is ready to **** up their two major comic movie franchises by doing a gimmicky crossover stunt, it won't be interfering with the GOOD movies that I want to see.

Oy.

seems that warner's is still hard up on making a superman/batsy movie...

does nolan and singer's superman go togther? do you even see them inhabiting the same world? I have to admit....it would be like printing money

Would you rather see a singer directed batman and superman or a nolan directed batman and superman....( i dont see nolan going near this one though)

sorry if this has been posted already or in the wrong forum.....if its old

merge Away!!!

Keep that piece of crap away from the Batman franchise. That movie is only SINO.

We don't need to have this series to be infected by that production.

Yes, this is a good idea. They should pursue it. However, I gaurantee that Chris Nolan will not get Superman right and Bryan Singer will not get Batman right. This movie should be directed by someone else.

I could go along with it under this scenario. Maybe Michael Mann or Ridley Scott.

Ridley Scott would be an optimal choice, but for some reason I don't think he'll do it. :(

Yeah I know. So far the only person that Hollywood agreed with me on a casting choice was Bale for Batman. I had him as my pick when I first saw him in American Psycho. I was shocked when he was cast.

I'd have to say no, simply because Nolan's Batman owns Singer's Superman.

I don't like the idea of this ever being made. The only way that I could see myself possibly enjoying such a thing, was if it was a stand alone movie that didn't even resemble the current series. Maybe if they made it a CG movie quite like the new TMNT it could turn out decent. My problem is that Superman relies heavily on CG for being a live action move, while Batman not so much. Batman was always a more real world drama while Superman was total fantasy and I don't see that working well in a live action enviroment.

I would love to see a SUperman/Batman "world Finest" movie. There first meeting and everything.

However, keep Bryan Singer as FAR AWAY from the project as posssible!!!!

Bad enough he ruin the X-men (I'll never forgive him for those God awful black uniforms and a teenage Rouge) and then tey and kill Superman but I don't want him coming anywhere near Batman!

It'd be a laughing stock. These two are not formidable foes nor are they two who'd work together. It's more that Batman would not fit into the Superman realm. They are like two different dimensions to me. Having a real ultimately powerful character like Sups would take away from the uniqueness of Batman being just a man. Involving them is too odd in my mind. I can just see Batman having trouble and just picking up the red flashing phone and calling Sups and Sups would be unstoppable in Bats world. It would make Batman look way too inferior and I don't wanna see that.

Sups is for kids, Bats is more dark and for adults. In the comics it works but not on film. It is much easier for Marvel to mix and match characters together than it is for DC, especially in this case.

They are two different worlds that are working perfectly alone, why destroy that?

Agreed.

Bryan Singer did not "ruin the X-Men." What he did was jump start the superhero movie phenomenon without which we wouldn't have had the Spider-Man movies or Batman Begins.

You're right he did jumpstart the phenomena that is super hero movies. He didn't ruin the series but as a hard core Xmen fan I do think he could have done things differently. All in all I am proud of what he's done but he could have done better or more accurate to the comics than he did.

You telling me that without the right script this thing can't work??? I don't think it will happen but it would be a pretty darn cool way to end both trilogies... luckily I am not the one writing but I am sure some people can come up with a decent plot... I think the Supes sequels will be more popular than Returns and obvious TDK will kick ass so the movies will make money... but heck the TAS plot was decent and that was a CARTOON!!!... So why the hell not

Didn't Singer say that Batman be kind of villian of he directed the movie? So no I don't want Singer or Nolan directing the movie, WB should choose a director that doesn't take sides.

i have to agree with uh, fat tonie. i cant believe so many of u are knocking down this idea just like that. do none of u have any imagination?

if someone wrote the right script and a director who can mix sci-fi elements such as superman into a real world came together, of course this would make an amazing movie.

i think singers vision of superman's world was pretty realistic. except, duh, theres a flying alien saving the world. but thats the point of superman. hes a fantastic being who does fantastic things in a mundane world that needs help. batman is like the contrast of that. in comics their relationship is written beautifully all the time. writers like frank miller have taken a fairly realistic approach to superman and how ordinary people view him, why cant a movie?

You've obviously never read a comic book with either of those two characters.

I wouldn't want a movie but a cameo either way would be cool. Like Bruce in the cave with one of the many monitors showing Superman doing something. Or, in a superman movie have Bale on a tv or the front of a newspaper because he's doing something noteworthy as Wayne.
