So, my girlfriend is playing a lesbian...

lesbiansny0.jpg

i heard the voices from "teen girl squad" in my head when i read this. "sooo cool!"

My girlfriend's this big actress. She's in plays all the time. It's like she's Mary Jane or something, but I never miss her show do to a criminal threat facing New York.

Anyway in her new play she plays a lesbian. And she has to kiss another girl. More than once. It was very uncomfortable and intimidating. I've never had that fantasy about her and another woman. I'm not that guy. I just assumed I'd never like it. Now, I know it. Any man who wants to see his girlfriend get it on with another woman is either kidding himself or not actually in love.

In another interesting note, the people involved with this play went on a publicity quest and went around advertising the play. They asked local businesses to put up posters and whatnot. Check this out. They were kicked out of the Salvation Army. Another fine organization. They were kicked out because something about doing an "abomination as entertainment" or some intelligent remark like that. Also, the girl who plays my girlfriend's girlfriend (the girl who plays my girlfriend's girlfriend...say that three times fast) her own family refused to come to the performance. America, it never ceases to surprise me.

Is it because it's another woman - would a man be any better?

And yeah, the Salvation Army thing shouldn't surprise you. And they're one of the better charities out there, with about the highest percentage of money collected going to the needy as opposed to fundraising and administrative costs.

Nah, a man wouldn't be any better. But you know how a lot of men have a fantasy of seeing their girlfriend/wife kissing another woman? I saw it, and it didn't do anything for me. It was just weird is all. But I'm proud of her, I enjoyed the show, and even if seeing her with another woman isn't for me, it doesn't really matter because out relationship is solid and she comes home with me every night. She even asked me how I felt about it before she did it. Not asking permission exactly, because that's not our relationship, but she wanted to make sure I was okay with it. She said if I didn't want her to do it, she wouldn't. But I'm not that guy. I told her go ahead. I love to watch her. I go every night of any show she's in and sit in the front row with a big smile on my face. Nut during the kissing scenes, I just didn't want to look. But I noticed something interesting later.

At the end of the show she gets a kiss by the character who plays her mother. That was fine. I don't think it has anything to do with kissing, or women, or lesbians or whatever. I think it's just weird to see her act like she's in love with someone else. I know it's not real, but, you know. It was weird. I'm not jealous. I'm not possesive, which is why I find my uncomfortable reaction so odd. I even joked with her and the other actress about it. I was like, "Don't enjoy it, now." The director the other actors--everyone involved told me what a cool boyfriend I was for not only being cool with it, but outright supporting her.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the Salvation Army. I was more surprised about the reaction to my girlfriend's co-star's family.

Well, I think some of what you're feeling is perfectly natural. You seem to have the need to filter it through some sort of pc bull*****, but when it comes right down to it, you don't like it and there's a reasonable explanation for it.

How do you mean?

Actors are well-known ****s and sexual adventurers.
I've had a bunch of actor friends and a bunch of Musician friends and the actors are way freakier than even my Rock and Roll friends and I.
I'd be surprised if this girl is not being groomed to be sucked into the Cast Party Orgy and "Stay Late To 'Go Over Some Lines'" - Scene.

You've been watching too much Cinemax After Dark ;)

Me either, it's amazing that you can refuse to watch something you don't want to without being mocked for it.

This place is great ^_^
You totally missed the point, but who cares? This thread is slowly dying.

Which is far better than it deserves.
Yeah, I thought I'd share an interesting experience with my so called buddies here at the hype and everyone had to be a dick about it. This thread can't go away fast enough.

I too fail to see the arousement that girl on girl action supposedly brings.

Hahaha, no actually I was sitting here remembering all my actor friends and they really were free-kay.

They were the ones with the "open" relationships, where you'd be at a party with your friend and his girlfriend and she'd be all over you, and you'd be all "", and then your friend would walk by and go, ";)".....my one friend who hilariously ended up getting some jobs acting in some CHRISTIAN movies, he was a total HornDog, to the point that he was happily with this really hot actress he met while they were both in the same play, but one weird night he was wearing a paper jumpsuit, and I'm reading some of his comics, and I look up and he's got a huge erection, with only this weird paper jumpsuit and a foot of air between me and IT, and I look up and he's leering at me standing there, as if to say, ala Erz, "What're we gonna do about this. V"

Stuff like that was happening all the time with my actor friends. They're all Omnisexual Bohemian ****s.

I did? OH I DEED! O.O

So far the 'point' of the thread is to:

Speak about your girlfriend, whom you don't like kissing another woman:

Make a really stupid comparison of yourself to Spider-Man:

And seemingly mock the Salvation Army (a Christian organization, did you really think they'd be 'hip' to a show with Lesbians?) and your girlfriends co-stars parents:

Yes, I am missing the point. :csad:

Stop complaining about being made fun of, it comes with the territory.

Now if you'd posted to the effect of:

"ZOMG! My girlfriend is playing a lesbo! Dream come true!!" Then you might have had the attention of a large portion of the community high-fiving and patting your back, intertwined with innuendos and jokes.

As it is, you killed the thread in your first paragraph. :o

For me it's *meh* almost all my friends are actors/actresses, they range from one who won't take lesbian parts on moral grounds, to one who is himself gay.

I noticed that in college to, the parties hosted by theater majors were always the freakiest in terms of sexual stuff going on.

I cut your post down, but it made sence.Your partner is an actress,i can imagine you would feel uncomfortable about that..but it's just a part. But on the thought of trying to get the word out about the play,it's sad that people think like that.

You would think in America,"land of the free" people would be more open minded to that..or would encourage that sort of thing.

Not at all. Quite the opposite.
Like, we allow Martin Luther King jr. to have a rally, but we also allow the KKK to hold a rally.

The Freedom means that people are free to be ignorant bigots within the boundaries of the law. Or, they're just free to strongly disagree with the way some others use their freedom.

I would think in a "Land of the Free", there would chiefly be a variety of mindsets, not just one over-riding "openness to all things".

Also, we're not "FREE".
They should change it to, "Land of the Freer".

Any man who wants to see his girlfriend get it on with another woman is either kidding himself or not actually in love.
And you know this for sure because that is your belief? Please tell me, and others who are ignorant and not know what love actually is... the meaning of love. Thank you.
