Yea that's right. Completely forgot about that

I thought that was really strange myself. Dude seemed hellbent on getting blood for what happened, and he let Tig and Clay off so easily. I mean, yeah, loyalty test and all, but I expected that there was going to be a lot more to that then we were shown. I honestly thought Tig sold Jax out when he realized Jax was willing to give him up, and that would come into play in some way, but nope. That whole subplot seemed to just fizzle out.

I hope they ride off into the sunset together.

They sure do look perfect together. :D

Reminds me of that scene in Tango and Cash when Kurt Russel was in drag.

kurt sutter @sutterink · 4h Fun guest star announcement today at #ComicCon

---

Panel is probably starting about now.

Lea Michele is the guest star they announced. She plays a single mom/waitress that befriends Gemma.

Just remember to hide the forks. :o

They get the craziest unexpected guest stars on this. Lea Michele, Courtney Love, Joel McHale, Ashley Tisdale.

Ugh, are they going to try to have Gemma be a "complex" character with whom we sympathize in this last season?

Gemma was sympathetic in season 2. She put a gun to a baby's head in season 3. She certainly didn't deserve to be assaulted by Clay in season 4. We learned about her role in the death of Jax's father as well. All things considered she was a "complex" or multi-layered character in the first 4 seasons.

But since seasons 5 and 6, her credibility and my level of interest in her character have consistently decreased. Her selfishness and need to control everything her son and the club does has been one of the major drawbacks to the show in the last 2 seasons. I'm not saying we don't feel sorry for her in moments like the conjugal visit with Clay last season, but overall there's been more bad than good from Gemma the past couple seasons.

There's absolutely nothing left for her to do in season 7, and I really hope that half of the season isn't wasted on Sutter trying to have people feel sorry for or relate to her in any capacity. This is coming from someone who really did value her role in the show even through the last season, but within the show itself her character should absolutely not be hanging around the club, taking care of Jax's kids, relating to single mothers at truck stops, etc. Gemma is way beyond that point. I can't imagine audiences wanting to sympathize with her in any way after what she did.

Im waiting for Gemma to die. Have been since about season 4 or 5.

Brilliantly acted, but she's done too much. She gotta go.

:funny: No one is making it out of this show alive. MAYBE Bobby.....but that's about it. And yes, that includes Tig. Sorry about all you folks fantasizing about a happy ending for him and Venus. Those 2 will be found dead, riddled with bullets and in each others arms in some sleazy hotel room. :awesome:

I'll add that I certainly don't think we need to see Jax kill her in the first couple episodes. Gemma will make it to the end, and there's no problem with that.

I just don't think there's much left for her to do other than own up to her role in JT's death and her murder of Tara to Jax's face.

But if she's going to have episodes with major screentime, showing us the "dark" place she's in so that we feel sorry for her, I'm not interested. Gemma sealed her fate by murdering Tara, and nothing will make me feel sorry for her at all.

I hate to use the "Sutter writes for his wife so he won't sleep on the couch LOL" joke, but it does feel tiresome to constantly have Gemma thrust into the center of everything. She literally shows up whenever something major happens, and you wonder if the characters are thinking, "Ugh, Gemma's here."

After last season's finale Katey Sagal said something like, "But the fans are going to hate me now," while telling a story about when Kurt informed her of what Gemma does to Tara. It almost seems like she and Sutter overestimate how much patience have for Gemma.

Tig would gladly die in a bed with Venus. ;)

Unser and Bobby are the only ones I hope/care about if they come out alive. Especially Unser.

No they are trying to make Gemma act like a human being.

Im sure Gemma is experiencing a mixture of terror and grief. She demonstrated that in the season finale when she was told that Tara didnt rat. She's gonna feel bad about killing the mother of her grandbabies for no reason. And shes terrified that Jax is coming after her.

We the audience dont have to feel sympathy for her, but Gemma as a character needs to show some typical human emotions.

We know she's horrified and even disgusted with herself. That was in the final scenes of season 6 with Unser. We can imagine she's terrified. We know the character well. Point is, we simply don't need much time dedicated to her 'being human'. Of course I'm speculating, but it sounds like Gemma will have major screentime. I'm not suggesting that we simply don't see her at all until Jax confronts her. I'm guessing that based off what I've read, Gemma's emotional state of being may be a major focus, more than people expect or desire.

For example, there were descriptions of Gemma [BLACKOUT]spending time with or taking care of the grandkids while Jax is in prison. Nobody expects her to have the willpower to cut herself off from the kids whose mother she murdered. [/BLACKOUT] I don't think that will sit well with audiences. Whether it's intended to or not is another matter.

I never expected Gemma to not see the kids at some point this season. Sutter has said that Jax's on a mission this season of cold blooded murderous revenge so Gemma will factor heavily into this season. That's the only way this was ever going to play out. The final season will focus on Jax, his mother, and the future of all involved. Gemma's emmotional state is part and parcel of that.

I didn't say Gemma's emotional state shouldn't be a part of the final season or that she would be expected to not see the kids (even clarified the opposite on both counts). This show is about family and it's obvious that Jax's revenge will land at her feet - that isn't being questioned.

I'll restate this way - we don't need to see as much Gemma. Her arc is all but finished, and the only thing people are going to want to see regarding Gemma is Jax deal with her. That doesn't mean Gemma should be all but absent. I mean that attempts to show Gemma "being human" could still fall flat given that she committed a horrible and irredeemable act. Gemma is just a villain at this point.

I havent seen much to indicate how big of a presence she will have, but i expect Gemma to have as much screen time as she always has had. No getting around that. For one the actress is Sutter's gf or wife. If she must be there I just care that her character and the writing makes sense and so far it has been well enough. All we can hope for is that it does this season as well.

On the bright side we only have to put up with Gemma for like 16 more episodes.:awesome:

So do I, especially since we've lost some other major characters. I've never opposed Gemma's screen time, but her character has run its course. Seems like she'll be featured more by default rather than it serving the story, but I withhold judgments until we see the season play out.

I love Gemma, I hope she gets her own spin-off show. It can be about her and some of the other guy's mothers.

Next Fall on FX: Moms of Anarchy!
