QUESTIONS FOR TOMORROW
A FEW QUESTIONS FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD AMY. SOME OF THIS WE CAN TALK ABOUT TOMORROW, SOME OF IT WE CAN TALK ABOUT THURSDAY, BUT I JUST WANTED YOU TO HAVE THE QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE BECAUSE YOU KNOW ME AND YOU KNOW I'M GONNA HAVE QUESTIONS EVERY DAY.
International Footage
1. I think the footage is the wow footage we need, but do we need to take one last opportunity to “Red Team” it? We can screen it in Cary Grant this afternoon and show it to fresh eyes (obviously trusted people who work here, but maybe who aren’t as close to it as we are).
2. On Feb 2 we’re showing the footage to domestic and international exhibitors for AMC. What date are we showing to Odeon? Are we showing to Odeon domestic and international?
3. After we show it to AMC & Odeon, where else does the footage go? Does it go to all of our international managers? How are we sharing the footage with them (online, DCP, etc.)? When are we showing it to them?
4. When do we show it to our Promo Partners – which partners? What venue does this take place in?
5. Nigel: how many clips should we be distributing of BTS/special features to international managers? We got the complaint about too many on the last movie so we don’t want to send too many this time.
6. This footage is not approved for press. Disney did not show Cap footage to press.
USPS
1. Saw the ripomatic of the commercial – it’s fine, and I’m comfortable with the director (Rich Lee) because he did all of those Spider-Man commercials on the first movie with Carl’s Jr. We need to clarify that he’s delivering the movie to a bunch of excited kids’ who are at the premiere not a bunch of red carpet Hollywood types – please confirm this?
2. On the USPS website it says that there are 212,530 vehicles in the USPS fleet – 5,000 trucks isn’t enough. This is a fantastic promotion but it feels like we need better penetration to really make it all that it can be? How can we get more?
3. Where are we on parlaying the USPS relationship with amazon to seeing Spider-Man on Amazon (loved Dwight’s suggestion of seeing Spidey on your Amazon email confirmation).
4. When do the USPS promotions start and how long do they last?
Publicity
1. What do we do to make people all over the world love Andrew Garfield? He was so great at Comic-Con – how do we capture that and share it with the world?
2. OSCARS: Has anyone followed up with Craig since I spoke with him to figure out how Spider-man can be part of the Super-hero part of the show? We need to get them a list of all of our actors in the movie, including Sally, Paul, Jamie, Chris Cooper, etc. because they have all won Oscars and that might make them want to have the whole group as presenters. And Andrew and Emma too.
3. Are we buying a spot on the Oscars?
4. What is Jamie doing for the Oscars and the Superbowl?
5. What are all of the things that Andrew and Emma said that they would do that they are now saying they won’t do? Remember, Emma has to make up for Vogue and Kid’s Choice.
6. I know Dwight reached out to Andrew about doing JESSIE, but the only other celebrity who has done Jessie is Adam Sandler. What other celebrities have done TV shows like this that we can persuade him with? Maybe Emma could do it instead? The show is huge with girls.
7. Need to work on Andrew’s messaging/attitude. We’re setting up a meeting with him next week – can we spend some of that meeting talking to him about this? Also, we should set up one of these meetings with Emma and her team.
8. Someone needs to call Emma and relay the messaging that David sent. When is her next press appearance/interview? Need to talk to her before then.
9. What do we know about Toy Fair – should we get Andrew to go?
X-Men Tag
1. What is the solution to the situation that we have with the tag about making sure it doesn’t feel Spider-Man is in X-Men, but also doesn’t get us into trouble with the exhibitors?
Creative Materials
1. For domestic, what do our standees, one-sheets, and outdoor look like? When do they need to be locked? Does the one-sheet still need to be locked on January 30th? When do they appear in theaters?
2. Are we retiring the blue sky one-sheet that came out after the banner came out?
3. Superbowl: we know Capt. America has a 30-second spot as the last ad in the pregame show after the national anthem (the national anthem will continue to play over their spot), and their ad will throw to their online trailer. We know that what we have is a great idea, but we need to be aware of our competition, because this sounds like a good plan. Will their online launch during the game interfere with ours?
4. Where are we with the UK standees (I know they needed them for midterm holiday on February 10th)? Is the artwork locked? Did I understand Peter’s notes right, that we’re using the banner art?
5. What is the second UK trailer – is it the Lego Trailer?
6. What is the latest on the Alicia Keys/Pharell song?
7. What is the 6-second clip that Ann-Elizabeth needs for the moments worth paying for?
Thursday
On Thursday, we should be prepared to talk about takeaways from the International Focus Groups.
