Dafoe as the Goblni was VERY threatning, IMO, despite what people say. Yes, that includes the suit as well.

Ok, I agree about Dafoe and Norman Osborn. He was threatening and his performance was on the highest level. But do you seriously think that it's the maximum what can be done with the character? In my opinio he was there just to present a menace to Spidey, just to fill the villain place. He was not explored how he should have been.

^^ Are you saying I'm 10 years old, Crook? For your information, I'm a teen, but that's besides the point. Let's be honest thoug,h the comic Goblin suit wasn't supposed to look threataning in the first. So, why should the movies? Isn't it following in the same order as the comics?

THe Goblin in the comics these days is very frightening.

The 70s Silver Age Goblin? Not so much.

But you go and read Thunderbolts: Caged Angels and tell me Green Goblin doesn't look ****ing scary.

This is what Goblin could look like

I'd just like to say that the Ramones version of the classic Spider-Man theme song better be in this reboot.

Do I need to point out he looks like a goblin who kills people?

A true goblin, when designed properly, should look threatening. Whether the comics succeeded in presenting that tone is irrelevant to modern audiences today. We're not in the 60s.

Gob-lin: an evil or mischievous spirit, often represented in pictures as humanlike and ugly or misshapen in form.

EDIT: I've been seeing a lot of talk about how the Dafoe suit looks like a Power Ranger. This is incorrect, as its clearly a green Jet Jaguar suit:

See it's ironic really, the ONLY times I found Osborn frightening or menacing in Spider-Man was when he WASN'T wearing the mask.

The bit where he was talking to his reflection. When he was coming up the elevator to Pete and Harry's apartment with that deranged look on his face and his eyes going all over the place. That **** was actually pretty disturbing.

But when he was actually dressed up as Goblin? He was a bit of a joke, if I'm honest.

The best part was when he yelled at the board of directors.

What really puzzled me in SM1 was GG's purpose. He killed the exectuives and then... all he wanted to do was becoming friends with Spidey.

Yea, why did he actually hate Spidey anyway? Spidey didn't manage to stop him killing the board of directors, he didn't foil any of his plans. It didn't properly show his utter obsession with the wall crawler or give a valid reason.

Oh but there was a solid reason. Listen to it: Goblin asked Spidey to be friends and Spidey said 'no' and 'nobody says no to him!'

Yes, not only did they out a plastic mask over Dafoe's perfect face but they made him a spoiled child.

Now, maybe not every villiiain is a pro, but if you've gassed a masked superhero, isn't it standard procedure to remove his mask? I can't believe GG had Spiderman dozed off for hours and didn't see who he really was, and then, days later, he'd figured out that his identity was top priority.

So villains don't become obsessed with heroes for getting in their way, assaulting them or just plain spoiling their fun?

How did Spidey get in his way though? Osborn's mission at the World Trade Fair or whatever it was, was a success.

And like El says, he had Spidey captured, and didn't take his mask off, but mere days later finding out his identity was a top priority?

Hahahahaha :applaud

I loved Dafoe as Norman. I agree that his creepiest scenes were when he wasn't wearing the costume.

I loved the scene where Aunt May slaps his hand at the dinner table and he gives her a look that basically told her he was going to cut her up with those knives.

I agree with sauron. How can you say that the costume(which looks like a power-ranger,SABAN production)is great and Sam Reimi is a great director.
It's very sad, I don't know how old are you but the things you are saying is
absolutelly ridiculous

im actually hoping this film falls apart and the spidey rights revert back to marvel. I mean if they get it right and the first movie is awesome on dark knight scale I will get behind the movie but I am hoping the same for the fantastic four also that it reverts to marvel as well.
