if it's true, and they really want him for Pete, then it shouldn't be a problem. all he said was that he's in early talks, he's not claiming that he's landing the role or anything and he didn't give away any important details. all he basically said just 'i'm talking to them for the role and i'd like to play Spider-Man if everything works out'.

i hear what you're saying...he probably shouldn't have said that they're talking to him for the role, but again....i don't think it will be a big problem. he didn't lay claim to the role the way Gerard Butler claimed that he was going to play James Bond. he was just stating that he's talking to them about it and hopes that it works out. of course, if he doesn't get the axe then they'll talk to him about revealing too much info in future interviews...but i wouldn't consider it an axe-able (is that even a word) offense.

The only movie I've enjoyed this kid in was Meet Bill.

Having said that, I know this kid has the capacity to turn in a great performance (as in Bill). It's just a matter of putting a good script in his hands and a good director at the helm.
