Venom Sony Revives 'Venom' Solo Movie - Part 4

This movie has def been on my mind and I'm eager to see it again despite feeling "so-so" on it. This movie is by far the strangest beast. Its bad...but fun...but theres so much wrong with it...but its fun...and I wanna see it again. How does a movie pull that off? Lol

Hardy, his POWER!

I would say Fleisher had something to do with it as well. I have found all of his movies so far entertaining and he injects a certain energy into proceedings which makes them fun to watch. Good sense of humour also helps.

I hope theres a directors cut coming because I feel a longer movie with more Venom/Brock banter, bonding scenes would exponentially inprove the film. I gotta think Fleisher filmed it but the editors took it out so as not to bore the audience.

I'm curious about the longer cut but I could easily see it being worse. A lot worse, because I think the short runtime actually aided Venom in being entertaining as it kept the pace moving. I think people go back and forth on the the first act, but people agree it's the weakest part of the movie because of things like dialogue. Now imagine a whole lot more of that dialogue. Yikes.

A note to everyone.....this movie is getting enough bad reviews as it is....so don't create a new name just so you can diss it anew.

Lol of all the movies to do that to. Don't get why a person would waste so much time to rail against Venom, when the Infinity War detractors need more support.

Please nobody do that to Infinity War either.

Let me ask you guys somethin. Would y'all be opposed to Sony just going all in and using their OWN Spiderman for this series of films while Holland does his thing in the MCU? Like, maybe for a Venom sequel or Kraven or whatever they can use a completely different Peter Parker. Maybe an older one, one whose been Spiderman for many years already. Or, F it, bring Tobey back. What do y'all think?

I was gonna say absolutely no to that but you found a workaround that I like: #Tobey4Venom2

Screw continuity.

If Kraven is meant to be same continuity as Venom, Tobey as Parker won't work.

I would prefer Holland at this point. I don't know if I want another new Spider-Man frankly.

I also would not be opposed at all to Andrew Garfield. I was never too into the ASM series but I honestly found his actual performance more akin to what Peter always was to me. Note I'm not saying necessarily how he was written, but the performance itself.

I think Garfield is on sour terms with Sony though. I say bring Tobey back but theres two big issues with that and Im not talking continuity. 1) Tobey probably carries a huge salary price tag and 2) I feel that Tobey's return would overshadow Holland as Spiderman. I mean, ugh, just imagine the cringey press tour questions Holland would get.

If it is not going to be Holland, I just say new Spider-Man. Don't bring back Tobey or Garfield.

Tobey is too old. Holland is too young. Garfield is apparently not an option because he badmouthed the studio.

Let's start a Sony Spider-Man casting thread :o

Not at all the same as Marvel and Sony having two competing live-action bigscreen Spider-Mans at the same time.

Sony: So we wanna have another Peter Parker to profit off...
Marvel: Cool, that's more money in our merchandising pockets.

I'd be 100% ok with this. And I'd actually prefer it. Although my first choice would just be Garfield, and I'd be ECSTATIC if they brought him back, I'd be fine with any kind of new/adult PP/SM being cast.

I personally loved Andrew Garfield, as Peter and particularly as Spider-man, and he's a phenomenal actor. Seeing AG going head to head with Hardy would be great

Crazy theory:

I wonder if Sony is doing 'Into the Multiverse' to blur the lines between film universe lines/realities, making things more ambiguous, and maybe 'loosening' people up to the idea of multiple Spideys/Universes existing concurrently to each other. I mean, ITM is supposed to have Tobey's Spider-man right? And then having an extended look at it attached to the Venom movie?? :wow:

Maybe they're trying to get people used to the idea lol, in case that's something they wanna pull somewhere down the line :hmm

If you're gonna use another Spidey then how about exploring one of the Spideys from the Spideverse... like Noir Spiderman or Miles Morales. Say he's the "spiderman" of this universe instead of the regular one... Different universe like Miles, could make things interesting. I think it's an interesting idea, got a feeling it won't go over well w/you guys....lmao

I think the only alternate spidey I'd accept is a voice over masked spidey that sounds somewhat like Tom Holland. Or an older Tom Holland. I think I'd definitely be okay with this.

Tobey and Andrew are out, and it would just be weird to see someone else in the role having no basis for what kind of Spider-Man they are. idk.
