I think Young was much better for Spidey. Black suit Spidey's theme is my favorite of the trilogy, by far.

Young wrote some great material, and a ton of it even got dropped, and tracked in by pre-existing material. Still sucks we will never get a SM3 score cd.

I honestly can't even remember Elfman's theme anymore. And I used to be obsessed with the Spider-Man trilogy.
I loved Horners score, but I still felt like something was missing and some parts didn't really feel like it was made for Spidey. I do hope they change the score this time round, or else bring in a new composer.

James Horner was ok. I feel like he didn't go to his full potential. I would like someone like John Ottman. Maybe even a return from Danny Elfman. Loved his SM score.

This. Horner was good but I feel like he didn't try on the score, particularly during the battle scenes.

He is quoted as saying the fight scenes will "take care of themselves" and I don't agree with that in the slightest. and funnily enough, that's exactly where the most issues came with the score. There was just no tension during the fight scenes.

I really hope that, besides from the main theme and the main cues used in the first, the score gets a complete revamp.

I really hope they get Michael Giacchino. I think he'd be a great fit for ASM2.

Agreed. Even if he didn't come back - the die is cast musically. Just as Young kept Elfman's Spider-Man theme in the third movie.

My want for this score? If Horner (I assume he’ll be back) could get the main theme as it is played during ‘Promises/Spider-Man End Titles’ in an action sequence. I feel he got everything else right apart from this.

Same with me. I was introduced through the 90's animated series and that is what I perceive as iconic Spider-Man

It's a shame that the tune is owned by Fox

At this point, my top choice for ASM2 is Brian Tyler.

He did a phenomenal job with IM3 and his blend of upbeat, serious and ominous cues is exactly what we need for Spidey.

I think Horner's score may be too by-the-numbers for what I'm getting a sense of what the sequel will be. There needs to be something bigger. Horner did okay with the intimate scenes, but I wasn't really wowed by anything else. They need to get a composer that's able to balance the two.

He created the theme for the new franchise, which is great, but perhaps someone else can take over and do something more upbeat. Christopher Young taking over for Danny Elfman in Spider-Man 3 is a great example.

That's my fear. I enjoyed the main theme and hopefully they keep it.

The entire soundtrack, in my opinion, is great and I can listen to it to get relaxed or get pumped. My favorite track is "Saving New York", mostly for 0:59:22 and on.

Not only that, but it would've worked with the opening of the film involving Peter playing hide & seek and being taken to Uncle Bens'. It has such a mysterious vibe that would work within the context of the story of Peter's parents.

It wasn't in the movie because it wasn't written for the movie.
