Spectacular Spider-Man and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man CANCELED!!!

How else are they supposed to run a serialized comic series? Just have random arcs that have nothing to do with each other? That works pretty well on team books, but I don't think it'd work with a book built around one character. I want to see that character develop and react to things in his life organically, which kind of necessitates linear arcs.

Well what you want and what Marvel does have never particularly been the same thing.:o

Obviously not, but I imagine other people want to see that sort of thing, too. It is, after all, how Stan Lee wrote ASM when it was at the height of its popularity.

Yeah, but unlike Stan Lees era alot of the current Spider-man stories have been sucking...badly. Three seperate stories a month is almost neccessary now, so you can choose the book with the good plot.

Except none of them have had good plots lately. ASM has Peter being an uncharismatic dick, FNSM is following up on "The Other," and SSM is being written by Aguirre-Sacasa so it sucks automatically.

True. But Sensation gets lucky with a good story every few issues. And BIB has given some life to ASM.

Yeah...I'm not willing to keep picking up a book with the hope that I'll get a decent story "every few issues". That's the sign of a book that needs the axe.

just cancel all the spidey Titles, spider-man sucks these days anyway.

Out of everyone that posts in these boards, you have got to have THE worst opinions I've ever read.

They're yours and you're entitled to them, but I just had to say that.

I was just joking. you also say I have bad opinions, but can you even tell me what some of those bad ones are? But then again, you are a huge fan of Ireedemable Ant-man LOL. Also when you said you hated star wars, I didn't say your opinion was bad, even though it was, I just accepted you as being lame human being.

Wow, Eros really doesn't like you, PJ. He pulled out all the stops there. :wow:

Can we all just hug.... unless you're a skrull.

aww man, sensational and friendly neighborhood were the only 2 spidey books that felt like classic spidey

You mean even the one that promoted the other storyline? And the other which promoted evil uncle Ben storyline?

hey... those were out of the picture fast... im talking about spidey back to his roots and cast members. those 2 series brought back

-chameleon
-scarecrow
-stergon
-swarm
-all 3 mysterio's
-filled up the spider void that was left after the other (With miss arrow)
-brought back Flash Thompson
-Liz Allen
-Betty Brant
-Debrah Witman
-Robbie and Jonah, hell robbie just had one of his best comic moments ever telling jonah off
-had some of the best MJ moments in years
-had one hell of an annual
-brought back Black cat as one of spidey's best friends, and she actually rocked in it.
-brought back sandman
-and soon is bringing back eddie brock

all i can say is that is more than Amazing spider-man has accomplished in 8 years

Uh, that was just FNSM, actually.

And even in FNSM, while PAD did use a lot of elements of The Other and used them extremely well and crafted them into a very fun, funny, Spider-Man adventure. Like Spideyboy said, utilizing Spidey's supporting cast and villains much better than JMS ever did.

That's one thing I've always disliked about JMS' run; very small use of Spider-Man's supporting cast, very small use of his classic rogues character...it was like JMS took the character and put him into a different world, almost. Honestly, I probably enjoyed PAD's 20 or so issues more than I did any of JMS' run.

Yeah, it really did. I got halfway into the Uncle Ben story and stopped kidding myself. :(
