Even if they haven't got any material, at the very least they could start on an engine first. Look at the Wolverine game. The studio already had enough material because they wanted to make a Wolverine game in the first place and then changed everything accordingly when they got the offer to make a movie tie-in.

I honestly don't care about the movie game. I'm probably not gonna buy it anyway. Maybe if it gets good reviews across the board. I just don't care about tie-ins anymore. I wanna play as the character I know and care about not the movie one.

It's probably because they haven't gotten any materials from the studio for the game yet, that's why the tie-in games suck. They don't get the materials in enough time to make a worth while game.

I'd like a free roam Spidey game, as long as the side missions are good, ie, no balloon bs. Spidey 2 was fun for the free roam, but the mission stuff sucked.
That doesn't mean that they can't start working on the game mechanics and how it would run. It's good to get a head start.

Plus i really dont want to look at that s**t costume the movie is going with.

Ah, you too, Pat? You're another costume hater? :cwink: I like MOST of the costume. The blue fingers are distracting, the stripe on the leg is odd, web pattern is weird and the shoes...don't get me started on those stupid things. Rest I really like though...

I'll give the film suit some credit, they tried to do all they could to differentiate it from the one used in the Raimi films. I'm pretty sure it'll look good in motion.

Oh yea dude, hardcore hatred. I mean i really cant stand anything about it. There is no excuse to change that costume. Its worked since the 60's, it was proven to look fine on film. NO excuse to alter it. Matter of fact, other than Emma Stone, i cant find ANYTHING to be excited for when it comes to the new film. I mean i guess i dont mind Garfield, dude was good in the Social Network.

So, there IS going to be a movie-tie-in spiderman game? At least then maybe we'll get open world.

There's nothing confirmed yet.
It's hard to think they'll have time to do one.

Activision owns the rights to Spider-Man, there is a new Spider-Man film set to release, there WILL be a tie in to that movie.

there will definitely be a movie tie in game, Edge of Destiny is just the game to hold people over until they unveil ASM which will more than likely look like the other Spidey movie tie ins.

It's one thing to get the title of the game wrong in a different thread, but to get it wrong in the GAME'S OWN THREAD? This is unacceptable my friend.

So what Villains are you guys hoping to see?I'm sure it'll be split evenly between Amazing and 2099.SD had 13 so I'll assume 12 villains for now.I'm sure they won't reuse any villains from SD.Here are some of my picks of villains that could fit in the game.

Amazing
The Lizard(Connors could be working for Alchemax too)
Scorpion(Maybe Alchemax designs him a new suit?)
Spider Slayers(Would fit nicely in this game.)

I'm not too concerned on who we'll see in the present. We've seen a majority of Spidey's iconic foes in video games now. I do hope they go with more obscure villains such as Spot, Hydro-Man, Molten Man, Allistair Smythe and his Spider-Slayers, etc.

In 2099, though, I'm a bit more interested. While Shattered Dimensions tried to recreate as many classic villains as possible in different dimensions, it ended up using one that came from an unpopular comic, and created two brand new villains that were basically revamps from Goblin 2099 and Carolyn Trainer. Now that Peter David is involved, we are probably not going to see those characters here. I do hope they actually use Miguel's villains in here, and NOT just the counterparts of Peter's villains (Vulture, Venom, Green Goblin). Even if they do make up new villains for 2099, it won't bother me, since it is through the hands of the creator of the series in the first place.

See, what's funny about the new suit is that I think it serves its purpose well. There was already the mention of this movie being more "real" and "grittier", and the suit justifies, at least, the realistic approach, imo.

The styling of the glove makes it show that the red is only there to cover Peter's webshooters and the silver little lump makes it a whole lot more believable of how Peter can use his webs than in comics, cartoons and Raimi's movies that a tiny little thing of web can shoot through his suit with ease.

Plus, the red looks like a thicker material, so maybe besides just for show, it's also used for protection for his chest, feet and head.

Although, the ONLY problem I have is the waist down. The belt-like look is gone and I don't like the line going down his legs, moreso then the line down his arms.

The shoes could bug me, but it's something I've let go already. Even a genius may not know how to really make shoes correctly for that kind of suit.

:pal:

Spider-Man 2: Edge of Destiny...in stores in 2012.

This game wont, but the movie based game will.
I hope the movie game doesn't, I really hope for no movie tie-in, though I made it clear that I'm a huge fan of the previous movie games (bar the first)

I adore the first, love the second, dislike the third.

Why hate the really good third (one of the best Spidey games) and adore the first (truly one of the worst) with the slowpoke and too many bots to fight? When you say third you mean the lovely one from treyarch?

There is no point in not having the movie costume in a game based on the movie.

Is it so hard to believe that alot of people think Spider-Man 3 is mediocre at best? It may be your personal favourite but it's definitely not one of the best Spider-Man games out there.

you can like what you want. but most people do not share your opinion

Yea im all for the Lizard showing up.

I tweeted Beenox the other night. I know...twitter, how lame. haha

I said that I couldn't wait to see the villain roster and am hoping Lizard makes the cut. They sent me back.

"Stay tuned. :)"

I'm not trying to read into it but...I'm hoping they're hinting at using the Lizard. haha
