It's a great game, yes...but ten years later, you'd think we'd have gotten another masterpiece, but....nope.
I'm surprised not many other Spidey games have tried to improve on the PS1 game's formula on today's next-gen consoles.

All these comments make me feel more that my favorite game is heavily underestimated, sure it has heavy flaws, and some flaws differ from one copy to another, but it still is greatly underestimated

That same thought irks me everytime I see gameplay of Edge of Time.

What game are you referring to? The PS1 game? I have never seen/heard/read any complaints over that or it being underestimated.

Ultimate Spider-Man was a great game, at least in my eyes. I have been more disappointed in how this generation have been. We ended the last one with SM2 and Ultimate, surely one would have thought this gen would've been something special.

IA, Ultimate Spiderman was a great game. Id defiently welcome a sequel to that

Great presentation and story. I only thought the gameplay was lacking. Would definitely love a sequel if they could improve the gameplay.

Venom could have been way better. I knew the moment I heard you had to eat people to survive that that was going to be a bit of a chore. And I used to always turn off the army ambush.

I loved Ultimate Spider-man. It's always struck me as odd that it's never been brought up in "good superhero games" discussions.

I remember a bunch of good superhero games came out around that time. USM, X-Men Legends 2, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, that Punisher game. Hmm. I think I may have to pick some of them off the shelf...

Treyarch's Spider-Man 3

Ahh...so would you say that's better than Spider-Man 2?

I don't play tie-in games myself, so I wouldn't know how S-M 3 was, but I did watch this comparison video on YouTube of how Brock met with Marko in the game and then how the confrontation was in the movie...gosh, Raimi was so lazy on that part(aside from other aspects of the movie).

Ultimate Spider-Man was a pretty good game, but if you're not a fan of the Ultimate comics to begin with, like me, you won't ever really be a fan of it, haha.

Ultimate Destruction was an AMAZING game. As much as I loved The Incredible Hulk, UD was 10x better with how it handled Abomination.

I agree. His arc was one of the best things in the game. I loved.
I was hoping the story of the movie would be as good as that one. I liked Roth's Abomination, but not as much as UD's.

I was never really a fan of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic, I think I've read one or twice tops. And I was disappointed at first that the game was based on that comic. But I replayed it last year and it holds up great. The graphics still looks nice, and has aged a lot better than other games from last gen, the city has a lot of detail and the fighting is fun. And the presentation is superb.

Still, the game is held back by last gen hardware and time restraints, as it is fairly short. They had planned for at least one more chapter based around a prison escape though. While the swinging/getting around isn't as fun as in S-M2 it is a better game on every other level and a good game overall.

Sadly I've never gotten around to playing Hulk: Ultimate Destruction as I can't find it anywhere. Is it still worth it if I would find it?

I actually loved USM for the time that i had a subscription to it(about 100 issues), the only thing i despised was their interpretation of the Osborn/Green Goblin. I couldnt stress how much i hated that design. I also loved the game. I think id say thats my fav spidey title to date.

Osborn hasnt received his due in a long time, imo. Dude deserves a nice comeback. Im praying the people behind the new Amazing Spider-Man film(s) have the balls to do the Death of Gwen Stacy at some point during the franchise.

Some high-res screens of the pre-order costumes.

It was worth to me. Great story and gameplay. Certainly the best Hulk experience.

I doubt ill ever use any of those alts. Hope Scarlet and or Ben Reily show up.

In gameplay during missions (when I don't have to be point specific to complete the task, and when I can do something different than I'm required, like skipping breaking generators), races, hanging thugs on poles, pole swinging, and combat tours (not there in SM2) it's more fun, also the ability to swim and special area attacks, like symbiote Spidey becoming Iron Fist with the annihilator

SM-2 is really close though, the city is more alive, side quests are better, swinging choices and swinging from helicopters is better and cinematics are better in quality

Mix the best of both games, polish the game well enough, and you get close enough the ultimate experience in gameplay

Don't know where to put this as I don't know where the Shattered Dimensions thread is, but...I DID NOT know that Winnie the Pooh voiced Kraven!!!!

Haha, true. The voice actor (Jim Cummings) also did Goblin in this game, along with a billion of characters from many 90's Disney Saturday Afternoon Cartoons.

Videogame publisher Activision has announced that screen talent including Val Kilmer and "Heroes" alum Milo Ventimiglia are lending their voices to upcoming Marvel game titles "Spider-Man: Edge of Time" and "X-Men Destiny."

Kilmer is headlining "Spider-Man" as villain Walker Sloan. He will be joined by "Smallville's" Laura Vandervoort as Mary Jane and "Battlestar Galactica's" Katee Sackhoff as superheroine Black Cat. Plot follows two separate Spider-Men operating on different timelines to stop Kilmer's time-traveling evil scientist.
