Arkham Asylum is still a better game than either SM or SM2:the game, disregarding the tech. SM or SM2 wasnt being tossed around as a Game of the Year title. I think SM for the PS1 was closer, but SM2 is still one of the most overrated games iv ever played. Sure it had an open world and showcased Spideys mobility, but thats it. Everything else about that title screamed movie tie in. And even if i concede and say Spider-Man or Spider-Man 2 was a AAA title, that was over 7 damn years ago. We've been handed garbage for the most part since then. So my orig point stands. Spidey needs a triple A title before we start mucking around and throwing in unnecessary playable characters. Like i said, go play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance if ya want a team up game. Leave that nonsense out of a game Spider-Man is headlining.
Ill still be saying the same thing after Arkham City comes out as im in NO way looking forward to playing as Catwoman. I think she's an awesome character, but im not paying 60 bux to play as Catwoman, i want to play as Batman. I trust Rocksteady to handle her sections properly, but thats not going to stop me from rushing through them to get back to playing as the Dark Knight.
I dont think adding other playable characters ruins a game, im positive AC will be another home run, however i still think they are completely unnecessary and are only good for keeping whiney fan boys quiet. Which, now that i think about it, might not be such a bad thing after all.
