nobodies whining or complaining.. we just state that we think it would be cool.

And i state that i think it would be really stupid. See, its the same thing you are doing. You sate it would be cool, i say it would be stupid. Same thing, just different.

I think it'd be stupid to never give other fan favorite characters a chance to be playable when they obviously will never have there own game.

FYI, the HeroHQ Facebook page mentioned that "a famous Spidey foe" will be revealed at Comic-Con.

Well then hopefully they do another Ultimate Alliance and they can throw in some B and C list characters to keep the fanboys happy...and quiet.

When Spidey can get a AAA title, then ill say bring on some other playable characters. Lets get him right first.

i dont want a MUA spidey game... i want a spidey game with other playable characters.. 3rd person style, not mass player style.

and im sorry.. that's such an ignorant comment.. 15 years from now there will be a better batman game that makes AA look stupid (people already have begun to hate the ending with "suped up joker", many also hated bane and ivy's designs.. as well as other characters).. time's change.. things get BETTER... spidey on the ps1/n64 as well as spidey 2 were the AA of there time. sure, it'd be nice to have spidey game as great as ps1/n64 and spidey 2 were at there time... But people are always going to want more.

And i still think you're crazy if you think adding other playable characters ruins a game... it will be interesting to see you change your tune with AC...

Arkham Asylum is still a better game than either SM or SM2:the game, disregarding the tech. SM or SM2 wasnt being tossed around as a Game of the Year title. I think SM for the PS1 was closer, but SM2 is still one of the most overrated games iv ever played. Sure it had an open world and showcased Spideys mobility, but thats it. Everything else about that title screamed movie tie in. And even if i concede and say Spider-Man or Spider-Man 2 was a AAA title, that was over 7 damn years ago. We've been handed garbage for the most part since then. So my orig point stands. Spidey needs a triple A title before we start mucking around and throwing in unnecessary playable characters. Like i said, go play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance if ya want a team up game. Leave that nonsense out of a game Spider-Man is headlining.

Ill still be saying the same thing after Arkham City comes out as im in NO way looking forward to playing as Catwoman. I think she's an awesome character, but im not paying 60 bux to play as Catwoman, i want to play as Batman. I trust Rocksteady to handle her sections properly, but thats not going to stop me from rushing through them to get back to playing as the Dark Knight.

I dont think adding other playable characters ruins a game, im positive AC will be another home run, however i still think they are completely unnecessary and are only good for keeping whiney fan boys quiet. Which, now that i think about it, might not be such a bad thing after all.

I see no reason to have Black Cat playable. We already have two playable characters, and if they give all the stealth sections to Cat, it'll be the same thing as in SD where the gameplay variety gets crippled because different stuff is spread out thin between all the characters to give them their shtick.

1) so regardless of what you find nessicary if its handled right and other people want it... its "ok" by your standards correct?

2) trust me, even if we got the perfect spidey game by your standards... if it went 3 years without another perfect game and fans wanted another to allow the ability to play as someone else, you'd still be whinning about the inclusion of another playable character

3) in theory, if you got the perfect spiderman game, and it allowed us fans who would love to play as. Green goblin or doc ock, but it didn't distract from your game at all... but allowed us to all get what we want.. would that be acceptable? Or would you still complain and whine about it?

Really? Bc Batman got a AAA and you still dont want other characters in that. You think Spidey getting a AAA would make you change your mind?

bring on Black Cat, Doc Ock, and Shocker as playable then.... :o:whatever:

also.. no one was named called.. i said "like an old man" not "you are an old man"

Screw that...they should make a Spiderman family game! Spidey, Spider-girl, Arachne, Venom, Spider-woman. Just imagine the possibilities...LOL

General opinion towards Spider-Man games I saw so far:
1. Spider-Man (PS1): Very good
2. Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro: Not such a good sequel, decent
3. Spider-Man the movie: Decent
4. Spider-Man 2: Good
5. USM: Very good
6. Spider-Man 3 (PS2): Crap
7. Spider-Man 3 (main game): Mildly better than the other port, still crap
8. Friend or Foe: Crap, but sort of got better reception than the game that came out the same year
9. Web of Shadows: Best Spider-Man game in years, good, decent
10. Shattered Dimensions: Very good, better than any of the ones before it

Batman games:
1. Arkham Asylum rules, you can forget all Batman games before this one, except maybe the 1st movie game on the NES
2. Arkham City: Already people j****** over it

Gonna be fun
I want to play as Carnage, cause I really like Prototype

I wouldnt disagree with that completely, but WoS was really, really bad. That had to of been one of the worst Spider-Man games in a long time. The voice acting still gets on my nerves.

Not sure really, ill whine about not wanting them in the game as long as you keep b****ing about wanting to play as them. That sounds about right doesn't it?

Good god, if I had a dollar for every time 'Batman' and 'Arkham Asylum' was thrown around in this thread. From the sounds of the teaser that leaked for the new movie I guess the people wanting that will be satisfied next year when Spider-Man: The Dark Knight is released. I know a lot just want Spidey to have a game on par with AA, but when people are honestly suggesting that Spider-Man takes pages from Batman's books, when he already has his own to work with, it just shows how shortsighted fans can be.

Sorry about the rant. I just saw AA a few times on this page and snapped :p

Arkham Asylum is THE superhero game all superhero games are measured by. Its gonna be brought up. Spidey is a great character and deserves more than what we've been given. He deserves an Arkham Asylum.

What about Infamous 2? I heard that's pretty good and that it's a free-roam superhero game done right.

Yea your're right. inFamous 2 is another fantastic superhero game. Actually Wolvieboy brought it up in this thread that it could serve as a great template for Spider-Man and id have to agree.

Voice acting the only reason? Only voice actor I don't like is Kingpin, he sounds like a refuge from X-Men:TAS, that series had the worst acting I heard for an animated show, serious and children cartoons alike, too slow

There are tons of reason why WoS was terrible. The voice acting being one of them. But instead listing all the bad stuff, I'll make it easier by listing the good stuff.

- Web-swinging was fun.
- Combat was fun.

That's all I got.

Web swinging is kind of dry, not as fun as in the movie games
Add to them great voice performance by Steven Blum as Wolverine and Tricia Helfer as Black Cat
I listed every thing that made that piece terrible crap some time ago in its own thread
