Jokes don't mean a movie can't be serious as well. I think the OT for Star Wars are a great example of this. Those movies have more jokes than you remember, but are serious movies.
The standalone movies should feel like their characters. If the events of Infinity War carry over Spider-Man, and it isn't funny because of how depressing deaths were, then we are into Batman v Superman territory where the tone doesn't fit the character of Superman.
And Spider-Man (most of all) should be bright, colorful, funny, lighthearted. At least in this current incarnation of the MCU.

Have you ever read If This Be My Destiny, Death of Jean Dewolff, Son of a Goblin, Night Gwen Stacy Died, Venom, Death of George Stacy, Return of the Sinister Six, Maximum Carnage,The Gauntlet, Kraven's Last Hunt etc etc?
Spider-Man has DOZENS of serious, dramatic stories. I don't understand the notion that some have that Spider-Man movies are supoose to be comedies. The Raimi films had the perfect time for the character
Have you read my last sentence? At least in this current incarnation of the MCU. The guy is not even on his second film and you already want to adapt all those great storylines? Give Spidey a break. We'll get there. Feige and co will get there.
I just realized we will get the Spider-man trailer even before the last Avengers movie comes out. I don't know if that is a good thing. Of course it is clear that Spider-man will come back, but seeing the trailer for that even before seeing the conclusion of the last one? it will kinda cheapen the great Spider-man death moment in Infinity War.
Just reading some past comments people do realize this movie is being shot in a studio in London but that doesn't mean its set in London, people do understand the difference right?

You do realize that Kevin Feige confirmed that it's set in London as well as other parts of Europe, and so have multiple articles, AND the movie is literally called Far From Home? You do understand the difference right?

Rest in peace, legend. At least he died of old age.I mean, it's a movie starring both Spider-Man and Spider-Woman. Of course it will be funny.http://comicbook.com/marvel/2018/07/05/spider-man-far-from-home-grander-scale-funnier-marvel-movie/"I cant say much about the new Spider-Man but I will offer up that it will be both grander in scale and even funnier than the last one," Lebental teassed. "The rest of the story will have to wait."
The first teaser and trailer can just focus on the villain. They can easily not give anything away if Marvel is involved in the 1st teaser.I just realized we will get the Spider-man trailer even before the last Avengers movie comes out. Yeah, I'm curious how they'll market this film.
io9 reached out to both Sony and Disney about this problem created by Infinity Wars plot. A Sony representative would only say the studio will work with Marvel to figure out the Spider-Man strategy. A Disney executive wouldnt even say that much, they just pointed out there are two Marvel movies coming before Avengers 4 to worry about first (Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel).

Based on their past record, sadly I don't trust Sony to market this in a way that doesn't spoil anything. I don't just mean in terms of scenes, I imagine the whole first trailer to have an attitude to it that you're not supposed to care about how Peter comes back, or even be surprised by it. "Just enjoy how awesome the new Spider-Man movie looks!" is what I expect the air of it all to be.
Maybe it's just cynicism, but I don't think we have nothing to base that on either.
