Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

We got the first Homecoming trailer about 7 months out from U.S. release date (it was dropped early December 2016).
Ah great, thanks! I'm thinking we will have a trailer with a hot December release. Perhaps Into the Spider-Verse or Aquaman?

How are they supposed to release a trailer of this movie if it takes place right after A4, and Peter is currently dead? How does that play out?

I would release a series of 15-30 sec snippets(3 different snippets) implying danger & a new threat, featuring a very quick/brief look at the villain or villains, some of the supporting cast, and an explosion or two.......all w/o Spiderman, until two out from A4 release, to give people a chance to digest the conclusion & end of a journey. Than release a theatrical trailer featuring Spiderman & some of the scenes from the series of snippets, with the addition of new scenes.

What if the bus Pete was on in IFW was his field trip to Europe? Hill & Fury were headed to meet him or something and when A4 ends Pete is back on the bus with no alien ship?

Peter says what the field trip in Infinity War was, he says it to Tony when he pops up in the park.

Tony: Kid, where'd you come from?

Peter: Field trip to MoMA

MoMA = Museum of Modern Art (in Manhattan)

I don't think it would be wise to advertise a Spider-Man film without using Spider-Man. Spider-Man is the big draw, audiences want to see him in the trailers.

What if we actually didn’t get a trailer until after Infinity War part 2? Could you imagine?

You market it by not explaining how he is back. Just advertise this movie. Let Avengers 4 explain his resurrection. Leave when this takes place ambiguous.

They can always say it's the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan, Europe. :o

We don't know in the MCU whether there's a Manhattan in Europe. There's a London in Ohio in real life.

Under normal circumstances, i would completely agree; however, this circumstance is quite unique in many ways...and a different, more unique apprach is warranted, imo. It will not hurt anything & probably create a little buzz(possibly confusion as well) for those not regular followers, more casuals fans of these films...but that's the price of risk & thinking outside the box.

Under any circumstance, it wouldn't work. You're going to confuse casual moviegoers more by advertising a Spider-Man film without showing Spider-Man than if you show him despite his Infinity War dusting. Besides, we all know he's going to be back post-Avengers 4 anyway, so why bother being ambiguous over it?

I think the average movie goer is much smarter than you give them credit for...

With Tom "accidentally" leaking the title backstage at that con and the social media handles updating their pics to the FFH logo and release date, that's their very first step at "cracking" the egg that is him *obviously* still being alive at the end of A4. Who knows what else they have in store but yes, I wouldn't be surprised if they just show him in the FFH trailers even before a trailer for A4.

It’ll be interesting to see how they’ll market this.

I’m really hoping we get a casting announcement for the “Jessica Drew” character sometime soon or the love interest they were testing for a while back.

Anyone seen these recent set pics with Zendaya? Hope they're giving her more to do this time round

Looks like they're having an argument in this one:

Yeah...just looks like she's fed up with his excuses why he's never there or late for the debates...given, she is now the leader of the debate team...or something like that.

Well they are building her up to be the love interest for the 3rd movie presumably. thats if she isn't for this one.

Peter probably doesn't know MJ likes him and doesn't get why she is mad, yadda yadda.

Homecoming was amazing. And naturally we will see him break off from Tony Stark.

The main improvement I want to see is more action. Something that can compete with the train fight in Spider-Man 2.
