Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

In this universe, I could see Osborn modeling his costume off the Skrulls somehow. Say he's a defense contractor for the gov't, and he was privy to some intel about the skrulls. Or commissioned to find a way to fight against them. And that's what prompts all the goblin stuff.

Then Spidey, not knowing anything about the skrulls, calls him a green goblin.

Not saying I love the idea, but I could see that being the direction Marvel takes it.

When you say model, does that mean you want him to wear a mask? I was thinking it would be his real face.

So I was thinking about if and when they decide to bring back Green Goblin. Do you think they will try to update his look so he doesn't look like a Skrull?

Give him a purple hat and it'll go a long way.

That being said, they draw so much from the Ultimate version they might go with that.

They could go the Ultimate version route, and modify/recolor the CGI model for the Hulk to make him look like the Green Goblin

Unless he's using some kind of holo-mask, the only way to get a face like that would be for him to have it as his real face. If you want a masked Green Goblin otherwise, people will have to accept a mask that actually look like a mask, and not a face.

Please no Ultimate Hulk-Goblin. Finally give us the classic look.

I get why Bendis changed up the Goblin in his Ultimate run but... Nah. Gimme a Goblin that's more crazed maniac with a physical strength on par with the MCU Spidey whose threat is more that he's an obsessive psychopath. No need to go Hulk size with him.

I would split the difference. Give Norman a monstrous transformation but keep him human sized and give him strength equal to about Peter's. Again, make the scary part of Norman that he's just savagely nuts.

Same here. I think there's a chance they will
I'd say it's fairly likely, in fact. I think when/if Feige/MS uses the GG again, he'll go out of his way to differentiate the MCU version from the Dehaan/Franco/Dafoe version. He always talks about GG being tired and played out and the majority of Homecoming was based on Ultimate Spider-Man.

I think Osborn will be a villain that poses a threat to the wider MU at first i.e Dark Reign but once he becomes the GG again, I could easily see Marvel completely redefining what that is, like Bendis did.

TASM2 already sort of went this route

Eh... Dehan wasn't playing Norman and I hardly call that haphazard make up a transformation. But I get what you are saying. Still I see something as "monstrous" as Ultimate Gobby, only more manageable in size and with less of the Hulk rage thing, more an amped up gonzo Norman.

I also think that if they ever do get to Norman that he should have a BIG presence as a villainous force even when he's not in his Goblin form. Show him working his angles and being cutthroat and "evil" even when he's in his business suit.

It would have made much more sense to have the Osborns debut here in Far From Home but I can see both Harry and Norman probably showing up in Spider Man 3 if anything

Damn, was hoping for footage. Still cool posters though.
