The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Gets a Set of Parents and Another Villain

Irfan Khan will make for a perfect Proto-Goblin. :yay:

What's also interesting is that the flashback issue he only appeared in took place several years before Peter even became Spider-Man.

Uh oh...if they decide to keep that constant than he may be the killer of Peter's parents.

Well, we know that since Martin Sheen is playing Uncle Ben and that there's been rumors that Webb and Sony are looking to cast a "young Peter Parker," the reveal that Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson as Peter's parents pretty much confirms were getting a "pre-origin flashback/prologue" with regard to how Peter became an orphan and wound up living with Aunt May and Uncle Ben.

Furthermore, I'm willing to bet that the filmmakers will take a page from Ultimate Spider-Man and have it so that Peter's parents are actually scientists not spies. However, rather than having them be friends with Eddie Brock's parents, the film could have it so that a younger Dr. Connors was one of their lab assistants and that he lost his arm as a result of the same plane crash that killed Peter's parents. Maybe the regeneration formula which turns Dr. Connors into the Lizard was based off of a prototype "super soldier formula" Peter's parents were also working on, and that this Van Atter guy, who I'm guessing is Connor's evil boss, was the guy responsible for the plane crash, thus the Lizard goes after Van Atter for revenge once he uncovers the truth and also causes a moral dilemma for Peter as well. Just a hunch.

That's a very good theory, I would like that a lot.

And slowly the plot begins to reveal itself.....possibly... :hyper:

I was actually thinking Van Atter and his wife would be filling in the roles of Eddie Brock snr and his wife.

Didn't Brock Sr. turn into Venom on the plane or something thus killing everybody/ the plane explodes in Ultimate? Proto-Goblin could be a stand in I guess, if they go with that.

Lets say Stillanerd version is close, than that sound more like Raimi's shenanigans.... storywise. Villain relate to Peter, a participant is now his professor/father figure, so to speak. The super-soildier formula relates well to Raimi's trilogy. Hell, this seem more like a "Prequel" starting off and I guess pick up from there in the reboot.

I agree with that statement minus the Goblin part(because we don't know if it's building towards that).

However guys, this news leaves me to consider the possibility that Ifan may actually be playing Miles Warren/Jackel.... he certainly look more like Miles than Connors.

Just saying...... we all been saying Lizard is too soon for a reboot, and would be rushed trying to develop the character, with his family, the experiment, transformation, and Lizard himself.

Think about it.
I don't know about you, but I am VERY happy with seeing the Lizard. I think they could develop him in one film easily, as long as it's well written and it's the story everyone on the crew wants to make.

Yeah...maybe, you could be right. I'm still a bit skepticle about Lizard.

never heard of this villain. but what i've read about him on that article and these boards is that it perfectly sets up the Goblin for the sequel

love the fact that Peter's parents are going to be in it

My guess is that the flashback will show Peter's parents as scientists,Dr.Connors and Norman Osborn as their colleagues. They create the Goblin formula for the first time and Van Atter is the first human test subject.

Van Atter becomes a Goblin that kills both of Peter's parents and he also rips off Dr.Connor's arm until he is destroyed by Norman Osborn.

I tend to think that Parker's parents are going to be unrelated to the villans and will serve the purpose of a flashback. I think Van ... Helsing ,or whatever his name is, will play a part in the transformation of the Lizard but may not turn into a creature himself, much in the was John Jamesson appear in S2 but didn't become Manwolf. Van may still be a villan but not one with powers.

Very interesting theory, if you ask me.

I'm really loving this Peter's parents angle they seem to be exploring.

I love people killing themselves over things we really know nothing about.
