I was wondering who voiced him. Yeah, he sounds really good.

Also, no complaints from me on the Arkham related combat and stealth. The Arkham games have the best combat and stealth systems I've ever played in a game.

I'm confident Insomniac will do for Spidey games what Rocksteady did for Batman.

That was the best Spider-Man sequence since the train fight in Spider-Man 2.

I think the school hall fight in The Amazing Spider-Man is very underrated, it's great action in an enclosed space, and equally impressive.

interaction/destruction. Also Yuri Lowenthal sounds reeeeeally good as Spidey.
I agree on that, love him in the film tie-ins mobile game, that really encouraged me to accept him as the chosen VA for this game.

Depends though, will the running acrobatics in the burning building be automated or controlled. Same goes for the crane sprint.

Sshhhhh. We don't talk about older games here, they all suck when compared to the new one. Except Maximum Carnage, that's the only one worthy of nostalgia.

Any word on if any of Spidey's "friends" will drop by?

I'm hoping this game will be like the modern equivalent to Spiderman 2000 where other heroes like Captain America, Human Torch, Punisher and Daredevil showed up for cameos.
hmm they haven't said. They showed miles , but they said we don't play as him, as I put up above the page over. And we saw the King pin. we might see Dare devil. but it's also possible we might not. It'd be smart move to put DD in though.

seeing that he might not show in capcom verse's street fighter. but should. Well there's still Marvel heroes omega where he's in that but it'd be cool if DD showed up in more console games.

So far it seem's Gazillon is the only one willing to deliver on that. For now. We'll see if that happen here.

If the game maintains the consistency as shown in the gameplay preview I wouldn't hesitate to call it the best Spidey game. But I had a ball with Spider-Man 2 back in the day. I don't think it holds up that well these days, though.

Just finished watching the gameplay again...guys, this game looks terrible. I can't remember the last time I've gone from extremely hyped to totally uninterested so quickly.

Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite one. If you get a chance to play it, take it!

What didn't you like about it?

Reminder that today at 4:30 PST there will be a thirty minute conference for this game which will be streamed (look for E3 Coliseum).

I'm so pumped for this game.

23 year old Peter Parker who is clearly very good at being Spider-Man, out of College and with a job. Aunt May was confirmed. Miles' cameo was a lot of fun.

They're taking a lot from Slott's BND arc which is kinda eh, but I'll be giving it the benefit of the doubt because it is their own universe and not forced into a specific continuity so things can turn out differently. Really excited for the next few months and can't wait until next year to get this game.

I'd rather wait and get a fantastic game than have a game this year and it turns out just to be okay.

The QTE's were a bit heavy in the trailer but I'm confident that they will be more spread out in the game proper. Set pieces were always going to have them.

Looks like a lot of fun. Only disappointment is that it is not out this year.

So glad to be getting an older Parker. I feel like the character has been promoted much more as the high-school superhero especially with Homecoming but I definitely like a mid-twenties Parker better.

Yeah. I'm sure there are moments where the game slows down and you can relax.

My second favourite Spidey game after 2000.

did they mention anything about MJ or Harry being in it?

Traversal is great, cinematics look nice for an open world game on PS2, and the soundtrack is energizing and engaging. The game has its problems, but I came to appreciate it more in recent years.

You mean the new one? It looks nice.

Simply the best Activision Spidey game, and one of my favorite Spidey games.

You make it sound like they took one arc only, not points of his run, I'm happy with the inclusion of Mr. Negative as I'm a fan of the villain, minus the split personality side.
I'll be happy to not see Anti-Venom -or symbiotes- in any of the games.

My second favourite Spidey game after 2000.
Gameplay is better in the Mega Drive, music sounds better for the Super Famicom.

Oh man, how AWESOME was all of that?!
What do people think of the white chest emblem now?
I still like it. It's a different take than what I'm used to, but I dunno why, his suit looks really good with all that beautiful lighting.

yep.

and it's not some crappy cheap movie tie-in either.

now, if only Superman could get such quality treatment with a great Superman game.

ah well, guess we have to take our victories one at a time.
Agreed on all points. It not being a movie game saved it. Look how gorgeous this thing looks now, and we still have till some point in 2018 to get it. Can you imagine if this thing had to be wrapped up in a few weeks?

I'm a huge Supes fan and would love a game to finally get it right for him.

Glad to hear that Aunt May will play a part in this, always like him having a supporting cast.

I really dig Martin Li and Yuri Watanabe so I'm already on cloud 9

I love how Pete's more experienced, that remote web mine was pretty cool. I'm wondering what other gear he has.

At first I thought it was weird how Martin Li was not totally covered, but then him turning into Mr. Negative fully made it all better. I wonder if he's going to taint Spidey.

(I'm hoping Anti-Venom era Brock makes a cameo since his relationship with Mr. Negative was fun for me)

I cannot wait to explore NYC in this.

I'm more than fine with waiting till 2018 for this baby, it's gonna be grand!

the one critique I'll give is that I hope they continue to improve the combat and movement between now and release.

Spidey has such a unique movement and fighting style and that style is characterized by speed, agility, and flashy moves. He can do stuff that someone like Arkham Batman can't.

the combat/movement in the new trailer was a tad on the slow/normal side, so hopefully that's an area they improve.

the web stuff looked great. but it's the punching/kicking/attacking stuff.

Spidey should bound from enemy to enemy. pop them into the air, leap up to them, then bound to the next enemy on the ground and so on. it has to be dynamic and fluid.

didn't quite see that in the demo yesterday, but hopefully it's there in the final product.

one thing I did like about the TASM games was that the combat did feel very Spidey like.

Eh definitely not feeling this one at all. If feels like a mishmash of older games from last gen.

New drinking game: rewatch Sony's conference and take a shot every time you see a QTE.

Very intrigued by the Miles cameo at the end.

Just saying, if someone told me 2 years ago that we'd get an essentially "end-credits" "one more thing" type of Spidey gameplay at an E3 Press conference I would've probably ridiculed them.

I love the gameplay but it felt like a tad too many cutscenes/narrative scenes. More or less the stuff where he zips to a point and then a cutscene plays where he zips onto a wall. The older games, even the Beenox ones, usually had that without taking you out of the gameplay.
Don't have anything against QTE because no matter what anyone says: you simply can't create a gameplay scheme where you can pull off the insane stuff Spidey usually does. That's why I'm glad they kept that web-rush-like gameplay mechanic for interacting with the environment or to web-zip precisely.

2018 is a bummer but to be expected with how tight-lipped they were over the last year.

It was great but I didn't like the web swinging in that one. Also the chase scenes and some boss battles were annoying. I liked how you could go to Queens.
