Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Why don't you just get the game?
It's stressful to buy a game knowing that more content is on the way including a New Game+ patch, and I don't know how often I will replay it so I choose to make sure it's an investment.

My plan was to finish the story on my 1st time through before all the spoilers got to me, then in NG+ that's where I'll take my time, exploring until I stumble on to a story path.

It has been confirmed about a nerfed web-blossom. One of the devs played on Spectacular difficulty and it made combat too easy. They said it will be nerfed significantly.

If so, can we keep quiet about Spider-Bro? :funny: It was a huge help in getting all gold in the Combat Challenges. If in New Game + those challenges all reset, I would like to invite Bro to those fights again.

I don't understand why they want to nerf that particular power. Honestly, I barely use any of the suit powers to begin with so it's not a detriment to me if they do. I'm more of a ground and pound, gadget user. But...it's a single player game so it's not like you're getting an unfair advantage over other players. Whatever, I guess. There's other moves in the game that are equally as effective as the web blossom imo.

Here's some of the photos I've taken. Hope you enjoy them :)

You're right, eventually you get to the point in the game where fights are too easy, and you want to make combat more challenging, so you stay away from things like Web Blossom.

But I do like using it when I want to sort of skip forward a random crime, or just having the option as part of the immersion of being Spider-man. If it's not fun, we won't use it, but when it is, we will. I do understand their point of clearing Spectacular mode easier with it. It sort of breaks the integrity of that. So maybe it just needs to be adjusted with the appropriate difficulty mode.

One thing I Arkham mindset I have to put aside playing this is how in stealth when he punches someone it doesn't alert everyone. One of my first stealth takedowns he just straight up punched someone's face and I am like "SPIDER-MAN SHHHH BE THE **** QUIET OMG" but realized his punches apparently aren't the thunder punches Batman has lmao.

The thing I appreciate about the stealth in this game, is you can take your time, or you can clear a whole room under a minute. I guess, as long as you don't give them enought time to call for backup.

In a group of 3, you distract 1, as soon as 1 turns around, trip-mine 2 together, then web strike the distracted 1.

haha same!! i actually tried my best to avoid doing any punches during stealth and when i did, i was like "welp, i messed up".

Great shot.

Thanks! I got the idea from someone else's picture that I saw online. Some of the photos took a long time to get right based on the image I had in my head. I don't even wanna talk about how much time I spent getting that 5th photo just perfect, lol.

So this must be the Ghostbusters warehouse. Nice shot.

It is indeed. On the backside.

I like the look of Web blossom. It's visually epic. But, I tend to stay away from using it cause it IS such an easy tactic. There's so much variety in the combat and how you use the various moves and gadgets that I prefer to try and utilize that to the best of my ability. It's more rewarding to get those things down and be creative. But not all players have that mindset and if they prefer something like using Web blossom on a consistent basis, that's why it's there. If they can isolate the nerf to just one or two difficulty modes, that'd be at least a little better of an option imo.

The impact web works great in those situations as well.

Damn, I know exactly what you mean. I've been trying for some time to get a similar shot. He seems to do that specific swing motion randomly and I still haven't managed to pause it at the right time. ='D

The feauture to rewind in photo mode, maybe just 5-10 seconds would suffice. I wonder how hard it would be to add that kind of feature.

I feel like that's the kind of mechanic you build a photo editor around, rather than something that you just add to it, but I have seen games with similar mechanics to their photo/video editors.
I'd love the next game to have something like this in it where you can record entire segments of gameplay for use in the editor, in addition to having all the tools any photo editor should have and more:

Basically I want to be able to create cinematic web swinging videos with the game, and take great screenshots of specific moments from those sequences with ease.

I'd honestly be happy enough, if they'd give us the option to choose from several different classic Spidey poses.

Well I just finished the game now. Damn good finish, definitely gets the emotions flowing. Overall I'd give the game a perfect 10. The issues I have just come down to preference and what not. It's been a fun ride for sure, money well spent.

Got the challenge and base tokens needed to get the final suit bar the one you get when you reach 100% complete on the district missions. :jd:

Getting that 100% isn't going to be easy though, the Sable team missions in the upper west side have gone bonkers, I've died several times under ridiculous gunfire that has been ramped up all of a sudden.

Try holding L1 while you swing, it obscures your vision for obvious reason, but it slows down time so much that you'll easily be able to pause during the desired animation.

Just started my 2nd play threw tonight this time trying to do side mission did like none first time threw. I ended up playing the game for like 5 and a half hours straight or something was going to stop like 2 hours earlier but its just to much fun webbing your way around the city. I got all the backpacks and I think like 20 landmarks and like 10 crimes or something and like 1-2 side missions still a lot to do and hardly got going on the story tonight.

Guess I'll be disconnecting my ps4 from the internet until I finish my first playthrough. I ****ing hate when devs nerf weapons and abilities in single player games. I especially hate that they try to force it on players with mandatory patches.

Btw I did get the Platinum trophy as well. I systematically went and completed everything between story missions. So when I finished the game, I truly have nothing to do. Which I'm fine with, I still feel it was a very rewarding experience. Can't wait for those DLC chapters. Hope they have more planned.

My roommate is convinced that instead of forwarding the major plot points in a sequel that they'll just make big DLC packs. While that would be cool I think theres no chance they pass up on making a sequel and have it ready for the ps5 more than likely.

Demand and wish for a sequel alone will propel a sequel. They won't be 'allowed' not to make one.

Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 sold 3.3 million units worldwide in its first three days of release (from September 7 to 9), and has topped the record previously set by God of War earlier this year as the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive title, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced.

One million copies of the game were pre-ordered, which is another record for Sony.

The 3.3 million figure does not factor in sales of Sony’s limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro bundle that includes an “Amazing Red” console and DualShock 4 controller in addition to a copy of the game for $399.99
