All I saw were weblines on the suit. I never made any particular observation that they were "raised"...but I doubt it would have mattered to me if I had, lol
A suit doesn't need to look pretty, lol.
You think Nolan said, "I need to make Batman's new suit pretty."
Black webbing can stand out just as much, imo. Just like the picture on this page, that can look nice in sunlight or not.
And that's where I don't get why he should be. Webb's suit may not be pretty to the eye, but I like the idea of someone making a suit that is fundamental, not just to look gorgeous to the eye.

Fundamentally what?
What do mean by "a suit that is fundamental"?
Fundamentally what?
Fundamental for him moving, using his webshooters and what not.
It doesn't look flashy as in Raimi's and just works as a good suit to move in. Raimi's was all about flash and substance.
I'm just saying Webb's suit isn't "pretty", but it makes more sense with the way it is.
Having your suit being a symbol means just a little something instead of looking pretty.
Imo, Spider-Man's suit is a sign of symbol and hope, but it doesn't HAVE to be something pretty.
And that idea is dumb.
I will never think Spidey just made his costume to look pretty.

Well, good thing Webb has the smarter idea of not making the suit just to be pretty in the reboot.
Because....that's dumb. That's something Booster Gold would do, but it shouldn't be why Spider-Man made his suit.
Agreed 100%
Really, Spider-Man is, within the context of his own universe, an unremarkable superhero. He's not a symbol of anything, nor does he intend to be. He's just a guy trying to be responsible with his powers.
Thank you
He's more than just someone trying to be responsible with his powers. I mean, he even tried to teach kids in Spider-Man 2 with not crossing the streets. He's meant to be a symbol for everyone and even a strong role model of sorts for kids. He's much, much more than just an unremarkable superhero.

Exactly. He may be portrayed as unremarkable and a menace by the media (The Daily Bugle) but Spider-Man is a hero, role-model and sometimes mentor and personal life saver.
Because he wise cracks with the villains, that doesn't make him a symbol of hope and doing the right thing? Spider-Man is a lighter hero than Batman, but still try to help the "little man" against the evils of this world. ANY superhero can be a symbol of hope because they're out there saving lives.
