spiderman-the last stand?????

Oops... didn't catch the date... I still think this is it with the core cast/ director though...

guttin - if it's true that is. never heard of the site myself, so i don't know how reliable the information is. it may well be a popular site which many of you have heard of . . . have you?

ahhhh there it is. in other threads ive said multiple times that they only intend to do 3 but everyone is like ''no they have said atleast 6!''.

I hope it is just 3. Will keep the series credibility. Imagine Spider-Man going down the Halloween road or even hellraiser. Any more than 4 and I garrentee Spider-man 8,9 and 10 will be straight to dvd releases!

I just can't see why people just can't see it... everyone is like WE NEED MORE... but the cast will be gone... the director will be gone... how the f*** can you continue the story... if they were filmed back to back then maybe... but they had to try to fit it all in three... I just hope it turns out decent in a 2 1/2 hour flick...

yea my bad i just noticed the date I saw it on another site posred today
so I thought I would share it with u guys here at SHH
Even though I 'd like them to do all six I highly doubt dunst and mcguire
will be any more than a possible 4th installment and I would like to see
a lot of the loose strings tied up as well. I'm hoping they go the matrix
reloaded/revolutions route and film both back to back and release one in summer and the other around xmas.

exactly. people are like "i hope the cliffhanger is eddie meets kletus in jail and the symbiote bonds with them, seting up venom and carnage for SM4!!!"

but seriously...why would you want them to continue the SM3 story with a new cast and director, how every many years later it will be? makes no sense. it'll become like the batman series, with a new spidey ever movie. they're too smart to just recast and keep going like that.

"we need the sinister six for part 5!" no. we don't. we need SM3 to be a great movie so we can end this amazing trilogy.

Well the reason people are saying 6 movies is because Amy Pascal said Sony would like to make 6 Spider-Man movies. Raimi doesn't have to be involved if they want to make more.

 switching lead actors/directors takes me out of the series totally
it kills the flow of the series
thats the one thing i can't knock about x-3 the changed directors
but they didnt try to replace the actors they gave them no roles or shorter roles in the film

of course he doesn't. but the main cast doesn't want to be involved, either.

franco will be gone. dunst and maguire will leave. sony knows it's not a smart move to recast/find a new director for the most successful comic book movie series ever, and make another one in 3 years time.

it's a recipe for disaster.

if they do go that route and make 6 i hope it's a trilogy with an
older spidey say about thirty years old scientist/professor ,married to mj,
death of aunt may, kingpin, hobgoblin, vulture trying to find his parents and so on...

You don't know what Sony would do. If it makes money, why stop. What if they did change the director and actors, and it turns out to be great? Anything can happen. Not saying it will, but I like to keep an open mind.

Raimi and Tobey will make S-M4,just watch.

YOu want to remain optimistic go ahead... but still... all the supporting characters... those two aren't enough... I really would hate to see MJ in someone elses shoes... (MJ ain't dying whether you accept it or not).... but I don't want to discuss that in this thread... it will be a big let down... it really would... and Tobey will be 34/35 at least... they are getting older... I don't want to see it if that's the case... why make 4 if all the characters are dead... Brock is dead... Harry is dead... who else is there? Man Wolf??? If they want to do the Lizard/Kraven story please let it stop after that... I wouldn't mind if MJ is recasted but please no more after that...

THe thing is it ain't batman... a mid aged SPiderman??? ew.... the first ones were good cause of their youth and chemistry... you can see that falling apart already in the franchise... they are getting older and duller... you have to recast... just let it be a separate trilogy with new characters if anything...

yes, but don't you think SOMEONE has learned from the WB's mistakes with the batman franchise?

after batman returns, keaton and burton were out. batman forever came around with a new batman and a new director (i won't even say his name).

while batman forever was definitely a commercial succes, it was the start of the downfall. the movie was just a big step-down the from the previous ones. but the WB said..."hmm...this kind of batman movie works"...made another one that was even worse than forever, and the series died for 8 years.

while i know times have changed and the SM movies are bigger money-makers than the batman movies, i think sony will be smart enough to go out while they're way on top. and then, however many years later, when the time is right, they can restart with some new kickass spidey movies.

I agree that it would be a bad move to move on without the core players. I would love for it to stop at 3. I'm just saying don't be surprised if Sony is going to milk this franchise for all it's worth.

I just think Raimi's quotes in the article above is the reason why they killed Venom so early... they didn't want to leave it that open to speculation... and another thing... how much more can the delve into MJ/Pete's relationship... I would've liked to see MJ die if they were planning on resigning the cast and all so Pete kinda has a new start... but that ain't the case here in this flick

yeah. i won't be surprised...just unhappy.

i think the best move for sony would be to end the series with SM3, let it kill at the box office, and then movie on to other spider-man projects.

maybe a comic series based on the events/vision of the movies, a movie-based cartoon, maybe even a live-action tv series. just small projects that will keep raking in the cash. there's tons of ways they could carry on the franchise.
