Right now Marvel is only gonna put out 2 Marvel Studio films per year. However there could be 4 or 5 if the other studios put there's out too. Hopefully they'll be spread out in other time frames besides the Summer.

2008 has 4 Marvel films right now with:

Iron Man
Hulk
Punisher 2
Wolverine

If all stays the same.

Damn it! New movies are more important than sequels. Luke Cage or Iron fist should be before punisher 2.

That interview is hilarious. Baby Boy is a "classic"? Singleton makes "ghetto movies that are classy"? ROFL.

I can almost swallow Singleton directing Luke Cage. There are much better directors out there, but maybe, just maybe, he could do it justice. But the fact he's indicated that Tyrese and he are a package deal really turns me off to Singleton directing completely. Tyrese is a crappy actor, and he'd be a horrible Luke Cage.

And it annoys me all the more because the perfect Cage is out there in Henry Simmons. He's got the height, the build, the chops. Put a quality cast around him and I've no doubt it could sell.

I can only hope that with Marvel getting the rights back, they'll decide to go in another direction, maybe Heroes for Hire as a superhero-Rush Hour.

Isn't Wolverine a Fox movie as X Character rights are still held by Fox.

I totally agree I have never wanted Tyrese as Luke Cage he s too small and he s a good secondary actor but I don't know yet about primary role will see.

I m gonna contradict my self since I wanted Michael jay white who s also too small for the role but at least taller than tyrese and he knows how to fight! Maybe iris elba 6ft2 (played in ''The wire'' very good tv series). I don' t know too much about henry simmons.

I don' t know too much about henry simmons.

His biggest role to date was Detective Baldwin Jones on NYPD Blue from 2000-2005. He's 6'4" (Cage stands 6'6"), in great shape with a booming voice, commanding stage presence. I feel like he's one of the few instances where the guy not only has the look of the character, but the chops too.

Ok now that you re telling me. I was one of those rare guy who couldn't stand NYPD blues I never watch a full episode but I do remember this guy. Same thing today with Greys anatomy I just can't sorry!

See that s what I call recruiting! The guy is definitely look like him 6ft 4 is perfect nobody will notice the difference and he act like him. You know what? i have nothing esle to say role the cameras!

You can be a Germain and make me think you re Russian but you cannot be 5ft 10 and make be beleive you re 6ft 6 even with your best acting skills!

Can someone tell me how they intend to fit in all these movies in the next few years? C.A, Ant-Man, Cage, Panther, Avengers, Strange, Fury... half those movies won't even be made for another three years... I don't really see then why we'd have casting rumors... I think Iron Man sequels, C.A, Ant-Man, Avengers, and Fury all have priority first... they could be just saving those three characters' debut for the Avengers movie... but I am just shocked to be getting all these other rumors when we got nothing yet on C.A and Ant-Man.

If Marvel's latest financial report is any indication, then the only 2009 (and beyond) films that are being given priority are: Thor, Cap, Ant-Man, Nick Fury, and the Avengers. So I don't think you have much to worry about there.

I think retro Luke Cage could make a great new exploitation-esque film. Just like Grindhouse. And it would be an homage to the character's roots.

I go with #2, the original Luke Cage Hero For Hire look. However, there should be a Power Man Iron Fist film not 2 separate ones. Simply Put Power Man Iron Fist had the opportunity to be a great super hero buddy film for Marvel, or a tv series. They handle street crime, they make friends within their community. Once they were hired to protect Matt Murdock not realizing he was Daredevil.

Well I m not sure but I saw some where they said Terrence Howard could do diamond back. I have to check the source.

You're right, Singleton did mention that he wanted him for that role. But that was before he was Oscar nominated for Hustle & Flow and signed to play Jim Rhodes in Iron Man. Terrence is very much in demand in comparison to when Singleton first made the suggestion back in 2005, so he may have to look elsewhere. Elba, IMHO, would be a great choice if that's the case.

The main thing I wonder about at this point is the script. The only script review was way back in '03 from Latino Review. El Mayimbe liked it, but I don't trust his judgement much, and it was written by Ben Ramsey, who's written action/comedies like The Big Hit and Love and a Bullet. If the Luke Cage script is similar to those films in tone, (and the review certainly made it sound as though that is the case), it's going to be a sub-par film. Of course, Singleton claimed the script had been worked on since that time, but how much? And by whom?
