Spidey 3's box office .....

It might not make a million billion phillion shmillion (note these probably aren't realnumbers anymore) dollars at the box office, but there's no way it'll bomb, it'll earn a **** load within those two weeks.

Spidey wasn't going to keep that record forever, It's not a bad thing in any way that it lost it either. It takes no merit away from the quality of the movie, and for those who do care about box office so much it was still a gigantic success.

remember, spidey 2 made $40 million, TWO years ago on a WEDNESDAY.

imagine spidey 3 now, which will likely be more hyped, opening NEXT YEAR on a FRIDAY.

as for shrek and potc3, they will be big hits but their openings are only 1 week apart.

I can't believe some think that Spidey 3 will fall after two weeks. I could see maybe a fall to second when Shrek 3 hits, but no way does SP stop making big money.

When POTC3 hits, it going to be a battle for second place between Shrek and SP, with the younger kiddies probably wanting to go back to see Shrek, and the older teenagers and some adults wanting to see spidey.

They will all make good money though, and I can see SP3 setting the record again.

Thats why I think its ALWAYS a stupid move to release a film on wednesday rather than friday...and I agree. Same with ROTS, although Im not a Star wars fans, I think id it was put on a Friday it wouldve made MUCH MUCH more than 108 million for the weekend. So I hope spidey can break the record but itll be very very hard I think. POTC had girls...lots and lots of girls...kind of the similar power Titanic had. This is scary

One of you brainiacs should try figuring out actual tickets sold , with ticket prices higher there was no way Spider-man was gonna keep that record much longer anyways cause now-a-days you can sell fewer tickets and still make more money , the real question here is did POTC 2 actually sell more tickets , thats just way to much math for me.....lol

This is why I think itll be smart to release the film at the end of April. They have plenty of time...they didnt rush like they did with 2nd...they spent practically 3 years, so releasing it end of april would be a smart move on SM3's part....but NOT on a wed., or we basically SM will be screwed to pirates again

Interesting point. Inflation is happening like crazy. Once gas prices are up basically everything is up but its been proven that people are staying home more to watch movies....132 million is A LOT!!! that is freakin crazy!!!

I have no worries about that... Response to the teaser was the best I seen in a while... There were theaters where it got more response than SR...

No. Most people think that the teaser was the ending of the movie. And that we'll only get a flash of Venom.

If they deliver Venom in the final act, it does have a shot.

Spider-man 3 has a better release date than Spider-man 2. The wait has been longer so people will be more excited, hyped up, and hungry for a new Spider-man movie.

The interest and potential is there, the movie just has to deliver.

No 132M is not an awful lot. What make people think that SM3 can't do that, if not better, given that the SM franchise is a much more universal and well-known franchise.
