Whoa, I was just guessing when I said a Scarecrow... What's the backstory for the Scarecrow? The only one I knew about was from another company entirely...

Check it out... :)

The Scarecrow

I love samruby. :)

Great villain! Although Marvel's Scarecrow seems to have fallen into character oblivion the past decade or so...

I think he'd be a great partner for Mysterio!

Maybe with the new Ghost Rider ongoing we'll see him again soon.

just read my first modern-day batman comic. detective comics 820 and it had scarecrow in it. i hope if i read any more he's in it, he was great in batman begins and i think he's pretty much a much-better mysterio  Good stuff.

the story's part of an 8-parter tho. are their loads of these arcs in the book and are they usually that long? (no complaints, mind)

This sounds interesting... a "fateful" deal with JJJ? Notice the good ole red and blues?

I love the way the eyes look in that picture. I wish that was how the movie eyes were done.

^
I like the movie eyes better... in fact, it looks WAY too much like he's wearing underoos here! But still, the art is really nice.

Comes out on Wednesday, the 28th.

I'm going to try and enjoy it as much as possible because I'm sure that Bagley isn't going to be doing this title for much longer.

What makes you think that? In every intereview I've read from him he always seemed very enthusiastic about USM and working with Bendis in general. I know that sooner or later Bendis and Bagley are going to say bye bye to the title but I'm just an ignorant fanboy that believes they will stay on forever :) :)

Anyway, looks like the only Spider-man comic I'm collecting now is USM. Thank god USM has been great and the future looks very bright especially with the upcoming Ultimate Clone Saga.

I agree. I've been with USM since #1, and I've wasted my hard-earned cash collecting them all. Bendis is a genius, because I don't know what it is about USM .. I always come back for more.

Is Bendis working on anything else right now?

I say that because Bendis and Bagley have talked about breaking the Stan Lee record and I was under the impression that once they did that Bagley would bow out as artist on the book.

I don't want that to happen, but I don't think he's going to be around for too much longer...just a feeling.

Though it'd be the greatest thing in the world if Bags went to do Amazing Spider-Man again.

I don't see Bagley doing ASM even though I would love him back on the title cause his run back in the 90's is what got me into Spider-man in the first place. I would prefer him on USM at the moment simply cause he has a talented writer there and the title is actually going places. With the way 616 Spider-man is being handled right now, I wouldn't want Bagley anywhere near that title.

Cover to Civil War #5 look great, VenomIII! yay!
