He's also in the new season of Fargo.

From this trailer, I really hope the twist isn't that obvious.

Is it wrong that every time I see Chris Rock I can't take him seriously.

Yeah, I love his standup and some of his comedic roles like Dogma but I have a hard time buying him in serious roles. He kinda tried that in Nurse Betty but was totally upstaged by Morgan Freeman. It’s been a long time since then obviously but I still don’t know if I can buy him in a non-comedic role.

I mean when he was looking at the crime scene he has the face he makes in a lot of his movies and it just makes you want to laugh. Although I will admit I can take him more seriously than Kevin Hart.

LOL, yeah. Some bad actors are accused of “eyebrow acting” when trying to be intense or thoughtful. But Chris is sidestepping that here and is instead doing a lot of “squint acting” for dramatic effect.

Id be lying to myself and everyone here if I didn't admit this looks interesting and nothing like a saw movie or at-least the last 10 films. I see the seven comparisons and the slanted camera angles are good too. I just pray this is More halloween revamp then the last 9 forgettable films.

Looks interesting. What worries me is Darren Bousman directing. I didn't like either of the Saw sequels.

It's been a long time since I've seen New Jack City so I don't really remember him in that. But has he had any other worthy dramatic roles since then? I didn't realize he was in Eddie Murphy's Dolemite movie; still need to see that one. Is he good in it?

Somehow I missed that Sam Jackson was in this and that Chris Rock was starring too. Looks ok. Not really feeling it at the moment .

Although that poster is pretty cool .

I mean people act like they forgot that Chris Rock played Pookie. He did good in New Jack City for that dramatic role.

As far as the teaser, it looks decent but we'll see.
But that was before he became super famous and known for a comedy career. Now if I hear him scream, I just think of the zebra from the Madagascar movies.

Well a lot of comedic actors transition to drama successfully; Robin Williams, Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy.

I haven’t seen Chris Rock in anything too recent, but even his comedic “acting” was always pretty poor in things like Lethal Weapon 4 and Down to Earth. He’s a standup guy.

LOL It's just a reflex.

But you never know, he might surprise you. Just like how Robin Williams creeped me the hell out with One Hour Photo.

Wow this actually looks pretty solid and I love the slowed down version of the Hello Zepp theme. God damn is that piece of music iconic IMO, but anyways I really hope this turns out to be good, because both Jigsaw and Saw 3D were complete crap. At least it looks like this one will be closer to the feel of the first Saw movie and I find that pretty refreshing honestly considering how ridiculous the franchise became when they started focusing so much on the traps.

Haven't been interested in a Saw film since Saw 2, but this has my attention.
