Star Trek Beyond - Part 2

Speaking of Shatner, do people think Chris Pine should eventually dye his hair dark and go more curly like Shatner's wig from the Star Trek movies and TJ Hooker?

No. Luckily for Pine, he has a hairline Shatner could only have dreamed of.

But Chris Pine's father is balding:

And even in the 1980s it was receding:

And even earlier, it was already Shatner-ised:

So Chris could easily go the same way.

So.....you're for Pine to replicate his hair to match 50 year old William Shatner's curly toupee?

Maybe for continuity's sake, so that the younger Kirk eventually matches the older Kirk.

It's not the same Kirk though. So no need to try and make him more visually like Shatner.

Pine being a character actor, I think he would be up for the wig. :funny:

I'm all for Pine donning the curly perm wig, but only if he also gains a ton of weight to match old Shatner.

really really looking forward to this 3 more weeks go to!

Shatner wasn't so overweight in Star Trek the motion picture or Wrath of Khan but he already had the curly wig then.

This is a different alt time. Also, I was being factious about the wig talk because people pay so much attention to continuity even when it does not matter. Shatner decided to have a curly wig not because of his character; he did it because it was the late 70's where male perms were in, and also maybe darker hair looks more convincing. There's nothing beyond that, no pun intended.

That'd be like saying Zoe Saldana should have adopted Nichelle Nichols' fro or Anton Yelchin should have copied Walter Koenig's Monkees hairdo. Both of which would look ridiculous in a modern movie.

Nichelle Nichols didn't always have the 'fro though. I would've liked Zoe to even have the season 1 Uhura hairstyle from the original series.

Honestly, this series is basically a reboot the same way the
Craig Bond Films are. The "Alternative universe" stuff was probably added in so they wouldn't piss off the fanboys. There is no reason for the actors to try and emulate past performers.

Paramount’s Star Trek Beyond began charting on the tracking boards yesterday with various sources putting the threequel’s opening range between $48M-$60M when it debuts on July 22.While that’s not a July record by any means, Star Trek Beyond is bound to be one of the more notable openings out of the 12 live-action wide entries on this month’s schedule, potentially besting Ghostbusters‘ three-day when that Paul Feig title hits marquees on July 16.

God... me too. STID really put a dent in this franchise's potential. They had the perfect lay out for the first film's reboot but then...

So what is the likely hood of this cast doing more movies in light of the tv show being in the old universe?

I would love for a Kelvinverse Sisko.

It's been a brutal summer with only Disney any making real money. WB has Conjuring 2 and Central Intelligence but they're mostly fillers.
