That was a good trailer. I was always going to see this, but that boosted my excitement.

So who plays the female alien?

Sofia Boutella. She was the assassin with the sword legs from Kingsman.

Much better trailer, love the idea of Kirk's "You've spent so long trying to be your father, now you're wondering just what it means to be you" story. It looks fun... But I still just don't the concept of it being a marooned on a deadly planet story.

Why did they drop the trailer at this time and day? How bizarre.

The fan event for the trailer release was held out in Los Angeles at 7pm Pacific time. The trailer was released at the end of the event which would explain the late viewing on the east coast.

That's what I am wondering. It sure looked like it.

It really does. The bridge (where they have the fight over the chair) looks an awful lot like the bridge from Enterprise as well. Very curious.

Much better trailer. I have sort of forgotten about this movie.

Comments on the youtube page are saying it's not the NX Enterprise but is apparently a ship call the USS Franklin. Might be an NX class ship though.

Really? I dunno I thought he looked pretty awesome. He sounded great too.

It just seems excessive to me. I feel like there are no traces of Elba left. Its like he's wearing a halloween mask.

That's when it works for me. The better the makeup, the less I would like to see the actor beneath it especially in these cases. That many couldn't even recognize Bana in the first movie was great. Killer Croc and not being able to see Andewale is great to me.

It looks better now that it has been digitally enhanced. It doesn't look like a mask anymore. Well not when it's in motion. But even in a still shot...

Pretty creepy, and with Elba in the role at least he'll come across like someone not to be trifled with.

Now that was a trailer, the best of the reboot to me. I'm not sure why Paramount didn't lead with this cause the 1st was meh. The music was good and the warping effect was great. Looks liked Lin did some research. I remember reading an article in Time or Popular Science with the release of Interstellar and how their was a way to create faster than light travel using dark matter. A bubble or field would be projected in front and behind the ship . Their was more but the theory was quite interesting and the artist dipiction was actually like what was just shown in the trailer.

Elba looks like a Jem Hadarr from the Dominion. I wonder?

The mask doesn't work for me. He does look like rubber. Probably the color, which doesn't allow for the "sweaty" look. The other alien looks pretty good imo.

Latest trailer looked good, thank god that Zack Snyder JJ Abrams is not directing this.

I think it looks wonderful! I especially liked the last scene with the new girl sitting in the main chair. I think Lin's direction will be a breath of fresh air. I hope Uhura and Sulu get more airtime

Latest trailer looked good, thank god that Zack Snyder JJ Abrams is not directing this.

JJ Abrams and Zack Snyder aren't remotely similar in style and talent.

Looks pretty good to me. But then, I didn't hate the first trailer either. This one was definitely much better though, I'll admit.
