Quiet on the STID front since the trailer a couple weeks ago.

Watched the first movie again the other day in anticipation for ID, I had forgotten how good the first movie was, never been a Trekkie, but always watched the movies and never really liked them, but ST'09 is the first ST movie I LOVED, and it made the wait for this sequel all the harder.

Do we know how much time passes between the end of Star Trek {2009} and the start of Star Trek Into Darkness?

Like what someone else stated above, less than a year. In fact, Kirk and company [BLACKOUT]haven't even started their 5 year mission yet.[/BLACKOUT]

Tickets going on sale at BFI IMAX in London next Tuesday at 9:05 London time.

And since like TDKR, this was shot partly on 70mm IMAX cameras, and that the BFI (and some other IMAX in the States according to Twitter?) confirmed that they'll be showing a 70mm print of the film, thought it would be appropriate to remind you of this:

Is the same theme from the last movie being used?

Meh. None of these posters are particularly Trek-like and could be marketing any generic action film if not for the de-emphasized "Star Trek" title tacked on above "Into Darkness."

The guy in the poster doesn't even look like Cumberbatch.

I think that's the point. These are international posters. Star Trek films hardly make a dent internationally (even the last film). They want this to be the first Trek film that appeals to international audiences who aren't interested in Star Trek.

Basically that poster is to appeal to the Euro audience, who are all pretty familiar with Cumberbatch. He hasn't exactly broken over here yet.

Alberta Filmratings confirmed another trailer is on its way, with the duration of 2:25.
