you have to be in a slave leia costume for that

Btw for those who care, Jango's headbutt to Obi Wan is back in the Blu Ray version.
I never realized it was gone. Wasn't it in the DVD version?
did they add any scenes to ROTS? or are there any new deleted scenes in the special features?
I think ROTS is the only film that remained unchanged for the Blu-ray release. If there were any additions, I didn't catch them. There are a few new deleted scenes in the special features, but most of them are animatics. They actually missed an opportunity by not adding in the deleted scenes from the DVD back into the film. Mainly the ones involving the creation of the Rebellion and Yoda landing on Dagobah.

I think even this would look better than the CG Jabba in ANH:

There are tons of new deleted scenes in the special features. Oddly some are missing that were on the dvds.

I found a decent screenshot

I'm watching the prequels noticing things I don't remember seeing. It's gonna take a while to figure this all out , lol.

How the **** is it that the Jabba in 1997 better than the 2004 one? I mean, seriously? How the ****?

And lol at the 1977 Jabba being a fat dude

Man, it was so much cooler to hear them talk about Jabba but not actually see him until ROTJ. And how is Greedo in the background of that scene if he was just fried in the cantina?

The guys at Redlettermedia actually made some good points about how strange it is to see so much money go into adding effects but glaring continuity issues are overlooked.

I always thought it was strange that this scene got put back in to begin with, since it's almost word for word the same as the scene with Greedo.

So the blu-rays aren't bad, there are a few fuzzy spots (especially in Jedi), but the picture quality is overall good.

Speaking of Jedi, was it always this milky-looking? The contrast seems lowered and the palette a little sleepier than I remember. Much bluer...

TPM isn't as bad as I've always made it out to be. 1st watch since 05. Liam owned that film. Honestly, the only main "issues" for me on this day is Jar Jar and the Trade Federation bs. btw, Pod Race/spaceship scenes are so sweet in Blu.

onto AOTC...

That scene should have just never been in the movie. Lucas was right in omitting it in the theatrical version.

I just finished watching it for the first time in ages - I totally enjoyed it. I never disliked it, but there's so much  regarding the prequels that I had almost forgotten how much I really did like TPM. And the new CGI Yoda looks fantastic.

Another thing that made me laugh...how much little Jake Lloyd sounds like my friend's Star Wars-crazed, 8-year-old son. :funny:

^ The problem with TPM is the pacing. Honestly, if they tweeked the scenes, fixed some minor issues, and removed most of the politcal stuff, you have a pretty solid flick. As it stands, it's still not that bad. Not nearly as bad as Attack of the Clones. Which has nothing that can be fixed.

I'm suprised everyone is saying how good it looks, because honestly, I've always thought the movie looked ugly. And it just felt restricted, since their set was probably twenty feet long.

That said, i'm going to finish TPM on SD, and then try to watch AOTC, and then ROTS. I feel like I need to see these films again.

I hate that I can't afford these yet. So jealous of you guys. :csad:

It'd be nice if someone were to hire me for a job, can't catch a break over here :o :cmad:

That's brutal. To be honest , I had to sell some dvds of certain tv series to moviestop. I was low in funds because I recently had to buy a new washer and dryer. It's just one of those things where I knew I'd be torturing myself over if I hadn't bought it.

Well that sucks, I wouldn't want to part with my dvds. And my reason for not having a tv is not economically related, it's just that it's so much crap on the tv these days that I do not want to waste time sitting in front of it. But it's time like these, when I want to watch a good movie with decent sound and screen, that I regret not having one

^ I use my TV for watching movies I own, or movies on cable.

Anyway...I sat through Attack of the Clones again. I'm sure you can guess what my review is, so I wont bother. :hehe:

eh, not wanting to re-start the debate or anything, but I read this article on the bbc news site this morning, arguing why Lucas should release the original versions of Star Wars for fans if they want them. Invokes arguments by the famous artist Marcel Duchamp(the guy who stuck a urinal in an art-gallery and credited it to Indiana Jones's son, not joking) from a 1957 lecture on the relationship between the artist and the audience, a good read:

Was Jabba a human at first in New Hope?

Anyone got any comments on the Qui Gon ROTS scene?? I haven't got the Blu Ray yet so can't watch it! What's it like?

^ I heard it's just an animatic, with none of the actual actors saying any of the lines.

So in other words...pointless.
