Watched AOTC tonight, the below sequence looks amazing in Blu Ray!

Some people are complaining of blurriness. My jaw was dropped in amazement. So far I watched TPM and AOTC. Thought they both looked great.

Pardon my not being up to date on Star Wars news, but is there really going to be a Boba Fett cartoon?

Boba Claus FTW! Or is it Santa Fett?

Either works. :D

Me too, I haven't noticed any issues so far.

No, it's the Boba Fett cartoon that was part of the infamous holiday special that is being talked about. Apparently it's an Easter Egg on one of the extras discs.

I feel stupid for waking up early and getting the Complete Saga at Wal Mart. I thought it might have sold out at Best Buy, but sure enough I went there on my lunch break and there were still tons left, and I could have got the free shirt. Anyway, the first thing I watched was the beginning of ANH. Then I moved on to the deleted scenes. Some of the stuff that was cut from ROTJ should have stayed in there, like the original opening with Luke that we've all seen and Vader choking Jerjerrod.

The Star Wars spoofs special feature is the best special feature ever

Watched Phantom Menace tonight. The finale battle scene with Qui-Gon, Obi Wan, and Darth Maul is the best lightsaber duel, IMO. "Duel of Fates" is such an epic song. Makes me want to go out and buy a decent surround sound system. :D

Gonna try and watch AOTC tomorrow night. From my recollection it's my least favorite of the trilogy. It's been forever since I've seen it, though. I love the way Coruscant looks in the film.

I am in love with the OT deleted scenes. They are treasures and I wish they were all completed.

- The Luke/Leia scene in ESB is disturbing and endearing at the same time. Kind of odd to see the pair "before" they were brother and sister. Probably a better fit then Leia and Han.

- The Wampa stuff, especially C-3P0, is hilarious. As annoying as C-3P0 my sounds at times, the way he moves just makes him so endearing. I love the character so much.

- It is apparent why the Tosche Station scene was cut, but it is quite cool to see that Luke isn't just some whiny loner. That he has a life off the farm.

- Vader reaching out to Luke and the Sandstorm are the type of scenes that are missing from the first act of ROTJ. They carry emotional weight while still providing the chuckles. It is amazing that so much time is wasted in Jabba's Palace and scenes like these got cut.

Also thought the pre-viz of Yoda/Sidious and Obi-Wan/Grievous battles were fantastic. Yoda standing his ground while the Emperor flees, hiding behind his proto-Stormtroopers just feels right. It never sat well with me that Yoda just gave up or was not a match for Palps, especially after how Mace handle him. The cameras were a bit much, but Yoda using one to arc the lighting back at the Emperor was such a neat idea.

Grievous smashing through the train is something I want so badly to see completed. The scene obviously runs a bit too long, but I loved how intelligent, clever and dangerous it made Grievous look. Far closer to what was foreshadowed in the original Clone Wars then the coughing wimp that ended up in the film.

Seeing the Qui-Gon/Yoda scene makes me think that it, not the lousy explanation that Yoda gives Obi-Wan, should of been in the film. While the dialogue is iffy, the scene reeks of mysticism and creepiness, the kind of things the PT as a whole could of done more with.

Revenge of the Sith's tranfer is as good as I have seen on blu ray . Aotc wasn't shabby either . Man this set is fantastic...

I hated the sister angle it seemed forced . I still think they should have killed off Han in Rotj , and had the Luke/Leia ending . It just felt very tact the whole sibling thing

I like the idea of an Han Solo heroic death in RotJ but instead of making Luke and Leia end up together they should have gone their separate ways as it was originally supposed to

The sibling thing was a direct result of condensing what was originally another four films into one. "The Other" Yoda referred to was originally going to a be a character we had never seen up to that point. When all was said and done Han was going to die, Leia would of been left to lead the Alliance and Luke was going to walk off into the sunset to have more adventures "The Man with No Name" style.

i am not sure I would have liked Han dying...compound that with Optimus dying and I would probably be in an insane asylum

Han dieing in the version of Return of the Jedi we got wouldn't work; but he at least should have been seriously wounded in battle so Leia could have led the attack, showing off those Skywalker genes. Biggest missed opportunity in the entire franchise.

I think that would have been a big WTF moment if Leia started acting all Jedi-esque...especially since none of the other films showed it

I'm not saying using the Force, just being a great leader. She's a strong character in the first two movies, but she doesn't have one great moment that really shines.

Yes Han Solo should have died ... Lucas chickened out and made it the most kid friendly films to date .... Really I heard rumors that Han was originally going to die and Luke would nearly fall to the dark side before Leia saved him ..... Probably been a lot darker than the film we got

from what I understand its not true....Harrison wanted Han to die, Lucas didnt want to kill him off
Leia saving Luke wouldnt have given us the redemption of Vader

Spielberg owns E.T. and I'm pretty sure he owns the rights to most if not all his early work including Jaws. He realized the mistake with E.T. and stopped. Besides which, what studio would deny the chance to milk their customers with revised movies they can keep reselling to a gullible audience?

Steven does not own E.T. or Jaws.
Lucas specificly retained the rights to Star Wars.

After E.T. made all the money ever printed in the 80's Universal, who owns both E.T. and Jaws, wanted a sequel. Screenwriters were hired. However Steven didnt want to do another E.T. and Universal didnt want to do it with out him.

If he had control of Jaws we would never had seen Jaws 3 or 4

I'm doing a marathon now. Just finished The Phantom Menace. The CGI Yoda is an improvement over that crappy puppet, but why did they need to make him look so pissed off? Especially during the final celebration scene. He looks like he wants to kill someone. Then again, if I were in TPM, I'd probably feel like killing someone too.

Actually Sten was at first very interested in makinf a sequel to E.T. and it was him who brought that idea, but he later decided that it would rob the first film of it's uniqueness.
Lucas was going to kill Han Solo but he eventually decided against it because of the money Han Solo toys made, true story, it's even on the star wars wikia

Did they already CGIed Yoda's scennes from the originals?
