Did they already CGIed Yoda's scennes from the originals?
Hell no. That would be the final straw for a lot of fans. The CG replacement was necessary for TPM because the Yoda puppet looked like diarrhea.

Nah, i think they're waiting to put that in the 3D rereleases

Nah, they'd never CGI old Yoda.

They'd just CGI his walking stick because it wasn't the right type of wood that Lucas envisioned.

Never noticed Obi's beard lol but wait till you see Coruscant Bim, it's just stunning, I got an adrenaline rush from the sequence as if I was seeing it for the first time again. :wow:

I will be sure to check the Boba easter egg out. :D

I also found this! :funny:

Looking forward to seeing Coruscant! I always thought it was a nice looking city.

This Boba statue rocks though haha, awesome! :woot:

from what I understand its not true....Harrison wanted Han to die, Lucas didnt want to kill him off
Leia saving Luke wouldnt have given us the redemption of Vader

That's what I've read as well, that it was Harrison who wanted Han to die.

And I'll never complain about ROTJ being too "kid-friendly". I was a kid when it was first released, and I loved it. I still love that movie.

That was just me!

Oh , I meant across the Internets. I've heard various things.

Looking forward to watching that. I want to see the People vs George Lucas, lol.

I'm not saying using the Force, just being a great leader. She's a strong character in the first two movies, but she doesn't have one great moment that really shines.

I get what your saying. I would of been bummed out if Han died though.

OK...I'm watching ESB now, and Han's "You could use a good kiss!" line from when he's fighting with Leia on Hoth isn't there. Was that cut too?

Some of the 1997 Special Edition CGI looks sloppy when viewed in high definition, namely the scene when they first arrive in Mos Eisley.

I just got it - but I sold my old Blu-ray player to get one for my computer (the payment for which won't clear until Monday...)

I saw the box set a few days ago while shopping and was really tempted to buy it, even though I have neither a Blu-ray player, nor a tv for that matter.

That's brutal. To be honest , I had to sell some dvds of certain tv series to moviestop. I was low in funds because I recently had to buy a new washer and dryer. It's just one of those things where I knew I'd be torturing myself over if I hadn't bought it.

I wish I could buy this but I just sold my TV...I'm moving to LA in Feb to pursue a film career and Im getting rid of stuff im not taking :(

Did they touch up any of the special effects in these films (besides the new CG Yoda in TPM)?

Jar Jar looked horrible even when TPM first released. I can't imagine he looks any better in Blu-Ray.

Jar Jar doesn't look half as bad as CG Jabba in ANH. He looks even more atrocious in 1080p.

Btw for those who care, Jango's headbutt to Obi Wan is back in the Blu Ray version.

Of all the cities/planets in the saga, it's visually my favourite.

I'm gonna have to get it as this years new Christmas decoration. :D

It's there, but it's only the left speaker.

This will only effect people with surround sound?

did they add any scenes to ROTS? or are there any new deleted scenes in the special features?

I only got the Original Trilogy set but it looks like non of the 1997 or 2004 effects have been updated. The pointless additions to Mos Eisley really stand out (the again, they always did) and the Sarlacc's added beak looks pretty horrible.
Meanwhile the Battle of Hoth still holds up beautifully. Yes, you can tell the AT-AT walkers are stop-motion models but that doesn't matter to me. The film was released in 1980, so I expect the visual effects to be of that era and they don't take me out of the film.
In Return of the Jedi a Dug alien has been added walking through a shot in Jabba's palace. It is clearly CG and completely rips me out of the moment as I know that they didn't have the technology to achieve that effect when the film was released. I am immediately aware that it is an addition added later on.

I think even this would look better than the CG Jabba in ANH:
