The troubling thing is people paid their money, traveled, probably dressed up, potentially washed AND waited in unbelievable lines just to boo the creator of their coveted universe. That is devotion to anger. That is fanaticism a it's worst.
It is kind of scary I guess =/ At least no one pulled a lightsaber on him.

If there was one Expanded Universe story you could bring to the big screen, if given the chance, which one would it be?
The Thrawn Trilogy
I don't blame Lucas for not doing more Star Wars movies....most of the "fans" don't even deserve the ones we have.
Why didn't you quote the post I made to that other guy, where I answered the exact same diatribe? You already know my opinion on this, I guess you just want to rant and rave for the hell of it...because all you have typed up here is the exact same diatribe I already answered to another person, and the billionith complaint about the original cuts not being released in cleaned up form.
I wouldn't mind them being released either, but I'm not gonna moan about it any longer, the SE adds are not that bad, and when I want to watch the original cut of Jabba's band, i have the laser disc cut he put on dvd to watch, along with the SE dvd cut of RoTJ without the added 'Noooo'.
Most of the adds actually benefit the films...the battle of Yavin is much better on the SE of ANH....the ESB cut is superior in all ways to the theatrical....and as I said, my only point of contention with RotJ is the changed band, so I just watch the laserdisc transfer, which is still pretty good quality, and then switch discs after that section of the film.
If you don't want to watch RoTJ with the added 'Nooooo' on the blu-ray, just switch to your dvd version for the end of the movie.
Anyway, Lucas has given legal permission to anyone to do their own cuts of the films and release them for free on the internet, or by passing on discs, so you *can* track down a cut, or make your own from these sources.
that's what I'll do one day when I get access to the proper tech/software...edit the three versions of RoTJ, laserdisc, dvd, and Blu-Ray, until I get the cut I prefer.
I just don't like the idea of fans turning their back on a man who created their beloved Star Wars in the first place. And claim that he went "insane." I mean if they still love the OT they only love the original Lucas who actually didn't really change at all? That sounds a bit crazy to me.
in recent years. But I love Star Wars. I have no resistance when it comes to Star Wars. I was so mad about the changes to the blu-ray versions that I...ran out and got them on the first day anyway.

Agreed. If Star Wars pissed me off to the point where I couldn't stand it or George Lucas anymore, I would walk away from it. I wouldn't act like a whiny little twit and boo him at a convention or write mean songs about how he destroyed my childhood.
Sure, Lucas has made some decisions that has left me likein recent years. But I love Star Wars. I have no resistance when it comes to Star Wars. I was so mad about the changes to the blu-ray versions that I...ran out and got them on the first day anyway.
This is me in my C-3PO costume on Halloween in 1979, when I was 5:

That's my sister in the Mickey Mouse costume. She now has a 4-year-old son who's just getting into Star Wars now, and he loves it. His cousins are obsessed with it too.
I went on Star Tours with my friend's kids at Disney World, and we spent the whole ride calling out lines from the Death Star battle at each other.
I think that's so awesome. For them, there will always be 6 Star Wars movies...and they will always be correcting me when I refer ANH as "the first movie."
But this is their childhood, and having Star Wars in its current form doesn't seem to be destroying anything for them. They love it as much as we did, and that makes me happy, and it makes it a hell of lot easier to put my own gripes (and they're there) in perspective.
I would love to meet George Lucas. Just to say thank you.
Liam Neeson as Qui Gon Jinn is perfect casting, he just has a really "awesome" vibe about him. The only movie I'm not really a fan of in the PT is Episode II, but it had some amazing scenes. And I absolutely loved Coruscant. Since TPM in 3D is hitting theaters soon, I have to ask:
Despite how some of you felt about the movie, were there any scenes you liked?
Neeson was interesting as Qui Gon Jin. I thought the special effects were spectacular. I loved watching the droid army assemble and the light saber duel was exciting. Also the Pod race is fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing that in 3-D.
It's funny that my parents never dressed me up and instead I had to wear a Spider-Man costume that had a picture of Spider-Man on it. C'mon Mom and Dad. I have a few:Since TPM in 3D is hitting theaters soon, I have to ask:

, but especially Obi-Wan vs Maul after Qui-Gon bites it.
