At this point ( medichlorian and the many crappy "ideas" of the PT ) we can imagine that the force lightning revealed Palpatine true nature or that it was all part of the plan ( Joker voice here ).

Yes although Lucas changed it so that still allowed for Zahn to bring in Mara as the once-was sister and fight that Dark Jedi instead of fighting the Emperor with his other long lost sister. Had Lucas gone ahead or plans to go ahead with a sequel set of 7-9 the way Zahn did it would work well.

I can't find an Obi Wan statue from ROTS that I really like, so I was tihnkign of getting this instead.

Bim and I both have that one. The "face" isn't as well done as you'd expect. But that is my favorite young Obi-Wan statue to date.

is Ahsoka older than she was last season??

also, I find it kind of interesting that both of Anakin's known apprentices ( Ahsoka and Starkiller ) favor the reverse-grip form of fighting with a light saber, while Anakin himself favors the traditional grip.

if i remember correctly she is supposed to be 17-18 by the time of this season

They did need better writing. But do you think that it was really possible to recreate the same tone and feelings that the OT created in the 1980s, a lot of cultural and technological changes have developed since then. I don't know if the black and white conflict of Star Wars really stands out today as much as it did except in a Disney movie. I really didn't ever see a need for a prequel trilogy. Honestly one EU novel or flashbacks added to the three movies could have explained it just as well. The obvious reason Lucas even returned to the backstory was to keep up his cash flow and grow the franchise and his special effects department, that's all.

As I've stated before, I'm talking about the SCRIPT writing, not the story. The stories were great! (Episode II could have used a little more work though) I think the main issues of the script writing was the dialogue and the characters - George wrote the script for the prequels and their dialogue and characters were flat compared to the original trilogy; this had nothing to do with the time it was written.

(Episode II could have used a little more work though) I think the main issues of the script writing was the dialogue and the characters - George wrote the script for the prequels and their dialogue and characters were flat compared to the original trilogy; this had nothing to do with the time it was written.

no the dialogue was flat in the OT also...Harrison Ford always picks at GL for the dialogue in the OT

IMO after re-watching the prequel trilogy Ewan McGregor is without a doubt the best actor. He really gave a much more greater depth to the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi that seamlessly line up perfectly with the great Sir. Alec Guinness portrayal in the original trilogy .

Ewan is underrated as an actor. He really did nail Obi Wan. I remember before the Phantom Menace he said in interviews it was an honor to follow in the footsteps of Alec Guinness. Also his uncle was in the originals.

What i do know is that they planed from the begining for the show to last in least 100 episodes, a number that will be reached in the middle of season 5 so most assume that that's going to be the last season so don't worry, we still have 2 more years, by the way, The Clone Wars has actually made Anakin a likeable and interesting character

I always thought Ford was referring to all the technical jargon when he said that famous 'you can type this sh**, but you can't say it.', and he did admit later on that he was wrong about that.

But, anyway, when it came down the main character's dialogue in the ot, they spoke like regular people, had colloquialisms, and references to everyday things, like Leia calling Chewie 'a big walking carpet.' It was only Obi-Wan who spoke in that portentious, mannered way, where everything was delivered as a speech with great significance. When it was just one character speaking like that it was a nice effect to differentiate him as the wizard/holy man of the group, but when you have all the main characters talking that way, like in the prequels, it gets very dry and does not feel natural, you can't relate to them as much, and feel more detached from the proceedings.

Yes, but the deliver and performances by Mark, Carrie and Harrison made it much more enjoyable to watch than Hayden and Natalie. Natalie is a great actress and IMO she did the best she could with the dialogue she had to work with and was best at portraying Padmé as a strong political women figure. However when she portrayed Padmé's vulnerability as a woman in love, it was weak and very cornball cheesy and not very believable partly because you really didn't see a magical spark of dynamic chemistry between her and Hayden .

This might sound very creepy but Natalie had more chemistry with Jake Lloyd version of young Anakin than she did with Hayden's Anakin.

I hope they revamp it into an OT show when CW ends......preferably between ANH and ESB...

I think that Clone wars should end with season 5 and after that they should do a tv show with the same type of animation set Between A new hope and empire strikes back, during the classic adventures.
I know that this is not star wars but i think that a star trek tv show with that type of animation could be great too

Didnt see this post before and yeah, like Erz said i do have that one. In my opinion one of the best Obi-Wan statues out there alongside the animated Kenobi ones.

Agreed (along with Liam Neeson, who I thought was the best part of TPM). He seemed like he was having the most fun in the prequels too. He brought a lot of the Han Solo-type humor into the prequels as well as all of the heavy stuff he had to do, which was great.

Hell, I thought the little scene between him and Dex in the diner was better than any of the scenes Natalie and Hayden had together.

One of my favorite Obi-Wan moments was after the crash-landing at the beginning of ROTS: "Another happy landing!" That was awesome.
