Been watching the vintage deleted scenes on youtube. Some fun stuff, not worth the purchase but very interesting. Bizarre watching an alternate introduction of Luke. I quite like Biggs as well, he got screwed by the theatrical cut haha.

Out of the new characters introduced in the PT these are the best additions to the star wars mythology

1. Qui-Gon Jinn
2. Mace Windu
3. Jango Fett
4. Count Dooku
5. General Grievous
6. Padmé Amidala Skywalker

Holy hell that speaks volumes about the quality of writing in the PT. I don't like any of them. Ahsoka > The Above, and I don't even like her all that much either.

In Attack of the Clones i liked Obi-Wan's investigation sub plot, i also like the reason why the Clone Wars but again they could have written these parts much better.
Revenge of the Sith is for me a bit better than Return of the Jedi

I dont think any of those characters are that cool. I also dont know why George kills his villians so quickly. Star Wars villians are so cool, you can actually ROOT for them, along with the heroes.

I mean, you dont want your heroes to die, but you also want your villains to just be cunning, and badass.

Atleast, that's how I always saw it.

I think characters are always defined by their villains. See Star Wars, Dr. Who or Batman.

As opposed to Superman, Star Trek.

I can agree.

I just wish they weren't dispatched to easily...or that boring Dookie got two films, and Jango, Maul, and Grievous got 1.

But then again, Grievous got 2 micro series, and one long series....so...I dunno. :D

I liked Jango Fett and actually found his armor cooler than Boba's

But i love this one of Boba

I haven't really been impressed with Villains in the past few years. Was excited for Voldemort, but I felt the last movie was a little anticlimatic. I feel Davy Jones was overrated, and while I like Ledger's Joker, I'm not a Batfan that worshipped every aspect of it.

I thought Davy Jones was one of the better villains. He did some things that were pretty hardcore....

Joker was good, all that jazz. But yeah, villains today are kinda ******. No one does actual villians any more.

They need to be cool enough to love, but nasty enough to hate. Joker was one of the few to do that. I'm sure there's more...I forgot. :D

Yeah, voldemort seemed like some kind of idiot in Harry Potter 7 part II, when he did that laugh i think that most of the cinema theatre bursted laughing.
Davy Jones was really cool but was i the only one that liked Cuttler Becket too?

I mean if you thought Grievous, Maul, Dooku, had weak set ups and delivery, then I don't know how you can say Davy Jones was one of the better villains. Visually, he was impressive, but weak fleshed out storyline?

^ He as a character was cool. He had a sense of humor, face raped someone, had little mercy...

He did something.

None of the characters really did anything. They faught, and died. Only one actually affacted the story. The others had plot points, but didnt do anything interesting, or plot changing.

I was amazed to discover that there was another female in the OT. :o Is that supposed to be the infamous Tosche station that he goes to meet his buddies at?

The only two deleted scenes that I think should have stayed in the movie(s) were the extended dialogue with Han and Leia in the corridor (it's probably more intense than the tone calls for) and the sandstorm scene in RotJ, since it has some nice, natural interpersonal stuff between the main three (which don't even get a reunion before going their separate ways in the theatrical version), a great visual aesthetic and style that the rest of the movie lacks, (especially with Luke putting on the black glove and disappearing into the haze) and Han's "How ya doin' old girl?" is a nice little bow of the gang being back together again.

Well, Grievous literally comes out of nowhere and doesn't seem to be like anything more than Dooku's right hand in the context of the film. However badass he was in the Clone Wars cartoon, he certainly doesn't do much to stand up to the combined forces of Anakin and Obi-Wan. He's actually more of an annoying placeholder villain that the good guys need to go after until Anakin takes that helm.
Dooku, on the other hand, does seem to be a legitimate threat, charismatic and lethal at the same time, but his "I'm sorry old friend" protestations don't hold up to his obvious cruelty. He would have been a much more interesting bad guy if he had legitimately believed himself to be the good guy of the piece, trying to save the Republic from Palpatine's machinations, rather than just another pawn.

Mine doesnt say shipping soon! :argh: or are you saying this because it says release date October 2011? :oldrazz:

Lord: i think Jango is waaaay cooler than Boba, but i believe i've said that before in this thread lol.

CelticPredator: i would have loved to have seen you as a teenager. I bet you were even more whiny and emo than Anakin when you crushed on a girl :hehe:

I wished that Maul had a bigger part in the prequel trilogy. Such an awesome character.

I remember there was speculation before ROTS that Grievous was going to be revealed to be Maul. That would have been fantastic.

I'm a teenager for 2 more days....:o

But no. I can be whiny, because i'm not a film character, I'm a human being. The only person who has to root for me...is well..me....

I But the problem with Anakin is, he's such a jackass...and you can't relate to him because he's a jackass. I dont know anyone who acts like he does....nor do I want to meet them.

that's one scenario.....and that's kind of the one I'm hoping for.

or else she dies......and Anakin is unable to prevent her death.....

which would feed into the pattern of him feeling he is unable to protect the ones he loves, namely the women in his life. First his mom, then his wife ( although that became more of a self-fulfilling prophecy ) and now possibly his apprentice........
That's the other obvious conclusion. It also would feed into her being unmentioned in ROTS, the loss of his apprentice was too much for him to speak of. That does fit the pattern of his sense of helplessness.

I'm not sure it would be shown in Clone Wars given how popular she has become and that it might be seen as too much given this is a children's cartoon. While they do have people die, it's never been anyone of her level. It's usually clone troopers, droids or vaguely defined alien troops. But they aren't afraid to go there either so it's very possible she does die.

Did anyone else read the series of Clone Wars comics they released some years ago?

I just got them out of a cupboard to put on a shelf, and reading through a couple they're still pretty fun to read.

They aren't something I often see spoken about, though. I think they take a collection of stories centered around the Clone Wars and put them into one book, but they aren't bad at all.

Maybe they'll give her a Disney death?

Eh. Wasn't really impressed outside of the exterior. Forced 10 minute back story with Calypso, Cutler made him his pawn which kinda took the "mystique" away form him and somewhat of an anticlimatic ending.

I can think of 10 Villains in the past 10 years that were better.

DJ was awesome in DMC, it was the third movie that took away everything that made him great.

Or into mist or something. Seems like the most likey onscreen death we'd see.
There is that. A weak copout IMO. She's a major player in the story and she just "disappears" to her death? It's either that or some kind of poison, venom, toxin or Force-induced death that won't obviously marr her body so as not to show blood.

I still hold out hope they let her fade away very much alive into some distant and remote part of the galaxy with an unknown fate.
